As many of you probably also read, the media has been reporting about this prostitution scandle with Eliot Spitzer using prostitutes like its some big deal. There have many takes on this, people upset that he would use a prostitute, people upset that prostitution is illegal, people upset that his wife had to stand by his side, people upset that the FBI spent time investigating this rather than doing something more useful.

Personally, I was upset by two things in this whole situation: that politicians have the money to afford $4000 for a single lay and that there are women out there who can sell their **** for $4000. On the one side, it leads me to thinking about government corruption and how luck of birth and knowing the right people can get you enough money that you can do something as silly as paying $4000 for some strange while hard-working people have to scrimp to get by. On the other hand, with my work experience, and education in what I do, I can't compete with what this woman because of her genetics and ability to wash off (hopefully) and resell her product. The idea of $4000 p**** really got me thinking. I mean just what does $4000 **** look like? I was betting that just like organic produce, it is the same as normal **** it just comes in a prettier wrapper. Anyway, I decided to ask google. I typed in "$4000 ****", and the first thing that came up was laser-vaginal rejuvination. For some reason that process has struck me as similar retreading tires. In that same line of thought, I continuted, if retreaded **** is $4000, then maybe I've just been getting such a good deal on the low mileage **** that I didn't realize its resale value. That was enough to calm my agitation over government corruption and genetics causing people to have such an edge over me.

What did you guys think of this scandal? Did you go through a similar though process, or am I odd?

Similar thought process vs you being odd! Buddy, that's two entirely seperate questions!!!

My Dad was in the military so I was fortunate enough to live in many strange and wonderful places growing up. As an adult I also did some time with Uncle Sam and I was able to enjoy a few of the places I new as a child again, as an adult, PLUS I got to see a few more.

What I have learned is that us Americans are really screwed up when it comes to our views on sex including those on prostitution.

Now as to your real question: although I have personally never seen anything that I thought even remotely resembled a $4000 ****y, I have seen several whose owners thought they were worth millions. But, sadly, upon closer inspection, they were no different from the plain ones.

As for the retread: What was that line used by Stewie (Family Guy)? "Say, is there any tread left on that or would it be like throwing a hot dog down the hallway?"

I don't know if they think a high price tag would ensure discretion?

If so, that failed miserably.

Or maybe they think that by setting a high price, it makes it more acceptable?
To me, overpaying for anything is pure stupidity.

I have to somewhat agree with Mr Frog. I've been around the world in the military (21 years) and he is correct by saying that in Europe, it's not a big deal. In Germany, the women pay taxes on how much they make. Go downtown Frankfurt and you'll find 2-3 hotels that advertise. It's legal in Navada too. We look (here in the States) at a man doing that as one of the ultimate crimes. Did you know that women also "rent" men? Not much said in that area or the news.

This is the best country in the world and I'd never leave it for another, but, we need to realize that we are not always right when it comes to laws, morals, etc. We hide alot we do for fear of somebody seeing and telling. I know of many people that won't have a smoke around people because they don't want them to know that they smoke. Heck, you can smell it. Drink and use gum. That's another example.

What a single person does (or even married with the consent of the spouse) should not be any business of another unless it effects that person in some way. Again, we look to find faults in people. Might be that we just want to find that fault and it satisfies our knowing that we have faults too LOL

here's what is going to come of the whole thing: spitzers wife will stand by her man, then carpetbag it to another heavily populated state, run for senate, then we can expect to see her on the presidential ticket in a few years... hmmmm -sound familiar?

This is the best country in the world and I'd never leave it for another, but, we need to realize that we are not always right when it comes to laws, morals, etc.

There is a certain UN treaty that has been signed by 175 countries EXCLUDING the U.S. and a part of this treaty would require the legalization of prostitution as a recognition of human rights. It falls under the same category as Roe V Wade - its her body she can do with it as she wishes.

What a single person does (or even married with the consent of the spouse) should not be any business of another unless it effects that person in some way.

Here we differ in opinon. If a married woman wants to have an abortion she can do so aand the husband has no recourse other than divorce. However, if a husband has a vasectomy his wife can sue the doctor for depriving her of her right to future children. For this reason, most surgeons and Internal Medicine men will not perform a vasectomy on a married man without written consent from his wife... kinda blows that whole consent of the spouse thing out the window.

regardless of how hot the sex worker is, he wasn't paying $4k for the girl.

a lot of that money goes towards the discretion of the girl and the escort company she works for , as well as the type of services rendered.

you're a high profile person trying to keep it a secret, well that costs money. (and obviously doesn't guarantee your privacy as he is finding out now)

you're into some kinky stuff? more money.

you want a high class girl that has proper medical testing paperwork, as well as a very limited number of other customers? exclusivity costs money!

obviously in this particular instance the company in question ended up being investigated and that sucks for their clients and the amount of money they spent to avoid such problems, but that is the risk they should have been willing to take when they decided to hire a girl in the first place.

for every 1 high-end escort agency out there like this one that gets busted, i'm sure there are 50 more that continue to operate without problems and without getting their customers in the news, so that business will always continue.

personally i think prostitution should be legalized and regulated with health checks so atleast the country can collect taxes on all that money and also slow down the spread of STD's.

lets face it...........prosititution is the oldest business in the history of human evolution, people were trading sex for favors long before there was such a thing as money. it WILL continue regardless of how much law enforcement money you waste on it, but the religious majority in this modern day and age still trying to stamp it out, rather than accept it and regulate it. /sigh

You made a couple of mistakes in your typing and even left out a word. Better correct it because you made it a point to tell others about their mistakes in another thread.

if you recall, i also welcomed others to point out mistakes i make because then i can improve/fix them, i do not take any offense to that.

no one is perfect, but the differnce between people is that some of us would like to correct our mistakes, rather than continue them.

from now on i'll rely on you to follow all my posts and help me with any typo i make, glad you can be of use!

No, don't need a cookie. Can buy my own cookies if I want to. The think I'm saying is that just by holding a weapon and demanding things go your way is not exactly the way you come out if you stay in that frame of mind. Live longer and learn along the way. One of the things you learn along the way is respect for others and others desires. Be firm, but, kind.

Being a retired Commando, your pictures do not impress me. They might impress the ones your age that have only the desire to be impressed by it, but, it's a long way to go to have the leadership abilities that go with the pictures.

This world is not about who we can shoot down, put down, etc., but, how we can help the world. How we can help the people around us. Be kind to others. It will eventually come back to you. If it does not, then, you can look back on your accomplishments in that area and have more pride than if you were being forcefull.

The think I'm saying is that

the "think" you are saying?
how did you get from the topic of prostitution to trying to coach me about life/leadership?
i find it strange that you are so caught up in posting to/about me instead of about the topic.

on a side note, i appreciate your service to our country (if you did indeed serve)

Well, we now know her name and have seen her "public" photos (as opposed to her pubic photos) and I can not see $4000.00 in value there although without photos of the functioning and sold apparatus one must still be just a slight bit uncertain... maybe there really is one worth $4000!

uh, yeah, thats considered coaching.

in order for you to know i have a long way to go, you would first have to know where i am at right now, which would be incredibly presumptuous of you to assume you know where I am at now simply by viewing a profile and a few posts on a forum.

lol, no offense taken.......you cannot offend me.

why would anyone post a picture of themselves on a dating site surfing? playing football? running a marathon? playing with their kids? reading a book? riding a horse?

shooting is simply a hobby that some people enjoy, just like any other hobby. people often take pictures of themselves enjoying a hobby because it represents the things that they like to do, and hopefully will catch the eye of someone who also enjoys similar hobbies.

and BTW......i think if i was hunting prostitutes, a fat wad of cash in my hand would probably work better ! haha

^^^^ Mind you I spent a lot of time defending your right to keep and bare arms and to say what ever it is you choose to say... hell, even burn a flag if that floats your boat but I believe when people ask questions about why you would pose like that, its not because they want an actual answer but because they are hoping their question may cause some introspective analysis that might result in a changed behavior.

Unfortunately I dont believe your photo would be perceived by the vast majority of people as a hobby photo... not that you appear to care... but I think people are trying to tell you kindly that you look like a gun toting whacko who belongs to some militia.

As a dd-214'd coin carrying 18-b I dont buy the hobby lineo one bit and like another poster said, it doesn't impress or intimidate me a bit but I'm sure somewhere there is a lady who will just scream WOW when she see's your photo... she'll be the one just for you!!!

much appreciated

its not because they want an actual answer but because they are hoping their question may cause some introspective analysis that might result in a changed behavior.

considering what we see on this forum, there is probably less than a 50/50 shot at whether it was a literal question or something deeper as you suggested. i err on the side of caution and answered literally. if the latter is the case, analysis performed, current behavior reinforced.

Unfortunately I dont believe your photo would be perceived by the vast majority of people as a hobby photo... not that you appear to care

glad you picked up on that last part

gun toting whacko who belongs to some militia.

its been awhile since i was in a history class, but im pretty sure militias of the common people were an integral part of the success in winning independence and creating our great country. bunch of whackos those guys were, huh?

haha, i know what you were getting at though.

I dont buy the hobby lineoone bit and like another poster said,

not that it would make a difference, but an observant person would notice i also posted some pics alongside some of my other hobbies, poker (out in vegas) and home theater.

it doesn't impress me a bit

i will certainly cry myself to sleep over this !
