| Barack Obama’s longtime pastor.[THREAD CLOSED] Posted: 3/14/2008 5:05:33 PM | If my pastor made comments like this he would be promptly fired.
Recently some audio/video of past sermons of Barack Obama's pastor have surfaced. Some of Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr's comments:
“The government lied about inventing the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color. The government lied.”
“Barack knows what it means living in a country and a culture that is controlled by rich white people,” Wright said. “Hillary would never know that.
“Hillary is married to Bill, and Bill has been good to us. No he ain’t! Bill did us, just like he did Monica Lewinsky. He was riding dirty.”
“Hillary ain’t never been called a . Hillary has never had a people defined as a non-person.”
BTW this chuch also gave a lifetime achievement award to Louis Farrakhan.

One really has to see and/or hear these clips of Rev Wright's sermons to get the impact of these and more statements. Of course Sen Obama said "I vehemently disagree and strongly condemn the statements that have been the subject of this controversy” But the Senator has been a member of Rev Wright's church for over 20 years. Rev Wright married the senator and his wife. He baptized their children. Surely, the Senator and his wife have attened his sermons and heard this stuff before.......
I fully expect someone to refute this simply because it came from Fox News. Yet if Senator McCain's pastor had said anything like this the networks, msnbc and cnn would have been all over it.

| Barack Obama’s longtime pastor. Posted: 3/14/2008 5:44:57 PM | | I saw it on Good Morning America and if there was any question of voting for this guy in my mind it's gone now...I won't vote for someone who attends a church like that..Guilt by assocation..But then again I sensed something weird when he and Oprah ganged up on Imus...I'm from that area actually N.W. Indiana and I remember the African American men asking white men to buy their Muslim newspaper it talked about the WHITE DEVIL. I wondered why these people were asking me for money..I always gave them money hopefully to show the guy were not all WHITE DEVILS..I know his church isn't a muslim church but from some of the things I heard out of that pastors mouth it sounded like those fellas..That guy might be a preacher licenced and all but he preaches hate and this dude who's running for president goes to that church for twenty years but states he doesn't agree with what his pastor said so why in the hell does he go to that church??? Is he supporting his wifes choice to go to that church? Who Knows but it's starting to quack like a duck to me.. | |

And below him on the screen it said FORMER pastor. I don't know how long he's been former, but let's all keep up. I wish we would all look back on this in 10 years and say wow what a bunch of ignoramuses we were to be so afraid of the church our greatest president attended. I mean really...guilt by association? I know a lot of Catholics who do not practice lent or molest children...yet they are still Catholics.

He should be ashamed of himself for associating with bipeds ...I know I am.
Here's an idea...next election we should just hold the primaries right here on line and make sure the candidates don't post a pic. That shouldn't be too hard to do...have them fill in "ethnicity" and "gender" with "I'll tell you later". Then we can just cast our vote and elect the candidate who doesn't whine as much as the others.
Wouldn't you love it if the candidates called each other "SHALLOW"? That'd be the coup de grace.

| Barack Obama’s longtime pastor. Posted: 3/14/2008 7:59:13 PM | Obama is in line with the left on the issue of firearms. HE supports a ban on semi-automatics and has spoken about the need for one gun a month purchase restrictions.
That said, anyone who cares about gun rights has no business supporting him. This insanity over his pastor is amazing. I drive around the Jewish neighborhoods in my state and see tons of Obama signs- his pastor was aligned with a guy who hates jews, hates whites and thinks the US deserved 9/11. Americans are sadly, illiterate and never read beyond the inital press releases once they decide who they'll support.
I know what reply Ill hear - its Obama's pastor, not Obama himself making the comments. Sorry, that doesn't fly when you consider the fact that they've been in contact for 20 years, the guy even officiated Obama's wedding. Obama also titled his book, the Audacity of Hope after a sermon from this very preacher. The final nail in the coffin was obama's 20K donation to this church.
A vote for Barak Obama is a vote for racism. He cannot and will not have my vote - if he DOES win in the general election, I fully intend to be part of the loyal opposition.
Dangerous times, my friends.

| Barack Obama’s longtime pastor. Posted: 3/14/2008 8:28:38 PM | Obama's response to some comments his pastor made...
Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama on Friday denounced inflammatory remarks from his pastor, who has railed against the United States and accused the country of bringing on the Sept. 11 attacks by spreading terrorism.
Obama called the statements appearing on television and the Internet "completely unacceptable and inexcusable" in a Fox News interview and said they didn't reflect the kinds of sermons he had heard from the Rev. Jeremiah Wright while attending services at Chicago's Trinity United Church of Christ.
Obama, a member of the church since the early 1990s, said he would have quit Trinity had such statements been "the repeated tenor of the church. ... I wouldn't feel comfortable there.

But like that other fella said he has known the pastor for 20 years he and his wife was married by him etc..In my opinion he's a racist and he's not getting my vote if you want to call me names and critize my religion fine I don't care whatever and I didn't vote for George Bush either...Geeze you can't even voice your opinion without the cougers comming outta the bushes to attack.

| Barack Obama’s longtime pastor. Posted: 3/14/2008 9:50:52 PM | ...this shows that hate-mongering has more than 1 color, yet it seems that it is less venomous when it comes outta those of the 'minority'.....i guess the very "learned" and "good" Rev Wright conveniently overlooked the passage in the Bible where JC states; ........"thou shalt not judge, lest ye be judged as well!"
...as an embittered man that he is....he has clearly used the pulpit to spew out his own feelings of hate and disdain, something that has little to do with the spirit of what JC taught!.........if JC himself had preached a sermon condemning (or "God damning")the Roman occupiers he woulda been executed asap!....yet wright was able to spew his hate and receive protection under the free speech amendment, which JC did not have!!!! ......and whether he intended it or not, those words and sermons have defined his church, his congregates and his ministry!
...Obama has indeed denounced wright (who doesn't deserve the title 'reverend') but it seems to have come 20 years a bit late!.........the fact that Obama states that he wasn't aware that wright had made such speeches is less than believable!!!.........to what extent wright may have influenced Obama himself is not clear just yet....its quite possible that he may be putting up a far different persona in public than what it might be in private, even though he is trying to distance himself from him for obvious reasons!
....the analogy that beckons here is if 1 of the 'white' candidates had affiliation with a church for 20 years in which its pastor was making such disdainful remarks.....what kinda outcry would we be hearing from the liberal and 'minority' camps?.......regardless of the denouncements, i seriously doubt that his/her candidacy would be viable!!
btw...its gonna be interesting hearing the apologetics about this!

| Barack Obama’s longtime pastor. Posted: 3/14/2008 9:54:35 PM | I wonder if there are other videos available on this guys' sermons. The new pastor was on Anderson Cooper tonight and made a good point. He said all of a sudden this man's 36 years in the church has come down to the last 30 seconds of this (admittably poor idea) speech. Just something to think about.
John McCain's friends in the church are not much better. I think people are just frightened by that which they don't know.
Post below....which is exactly why I said I wonder if there are more videos to view. Helloooooo

| Barack Obama’s longtime pastor. Posted: 3/14/2008 9:57:54 PM | frightened? not really. Im just able to recognize hate and racism - sorry that you arent. this says a lot more about obama who sat through this guy's sermons for more than 20 years. I wouldnt listen to this racist anti-american for more than 20 seconds.
and too frikin bad his career is reduced to sound bites. I dont think for a second these disgusting words were a recent realization on the part of the pastor....or obama.

“The government lied about inventing the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color. The government lied
No, "Reverend" Wright, Planned Parenthood was designed for that. But that's a whole other issue.
“Barack knows what it means living in a country and a culture that is controlled by rich white people,”
Our culture is controlled by rich, white people? I think people such as Jay-Z, Beyonce, Kanye West, Bill Cosby, Chris Rock, Snoop Dogg, and Diddy (or whatever name he's using now) may have something to say about that.
This sorry excuse for a pastor is a disgrace to the church, and to God! What sickened me more was seeing the members of his hate mob (congregation) supporting his hateful words. If a white pastor said things like the Jews running the media, or black people being the main cause of crime, Al Sharpton (I refuse to acknowlegde him as a reverend) would be boycotting him big time! Talking of Al, does anyone else besides me hear the deafening silence from Sharpton's mouth on this subject? I guess Wright wasn't white enough to warrant Al's attention to this matter.
I'm no supporter of Obama, but I commend him for speaking out against this, rather than waffling and making excuses for that wretched minister who should be defrocked! And by the way, "Reverend" Wright, if Obama is so oppressed, then how did he manage to become a senator--let alone a presidential candidate? Again, I am not an Obama supporter by any means, but I give credit where credit is due.
People like Wright, Sharpton, and Farrakhan do more to keep racism alive than the KKK can ever hope to achieve.
"There is a class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs--partly because they want sympathy and party because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro race to lose his grieviances, because they do not want to lose their jobs."--Booker T. Washington

I wouldn't call Osama/Obama a racist, he is half white, you know.
I would call him an anti-American Globalist, though!
His pastor sounds like a Jesse Jackson/Al Sharpton wannbe.
And, I do think Osama/Obama's wife is an anti-white racist! (Flat chested and ****y, too!)

SimmahDahnNah --
Obama's preacher (Rev Jeremiah Wright) JUST retired very recently. Some say it was due to Obama's run for presidency, some don't think so. He will be out of the country for a month long sabatical.
FOX NEWS has announced today that they have HOURS of live footage of many of Rev Wright's sermons to be viewed on their site for those who are interested.
What's funny is how many people will vote for a guy who swears he talks to Jesus.
EvenStvn -- this is more commonly known as praying. A lot of people do it.

| Barack Obama’s longtime pastor. Posted: 3/15/2008 12:06:29 AM | SimmahDahnNah: Yes, The report on CNN said the sermons are routinely taped. Yes, I agree this is really going to get interesting. It is true, no matter which white candidate went to a church that raised {hell} about {color} the outcry would be so lound heads would roll.
Just look at the careers of people that have been {lost} due to affilitaion with any type of racial overtones.
Truly what has been disturbing to me is the {GOD} like attitude Obama has started to demonstrate, at best you can call it arrogant.............if someone with that much hopla gets into the white house their ,can do no wrong, can not lose, invincible stance causes me great concern.
The only good thing, as a friend reminded me, The president has the right to veto anything but he can not make the policy: it's still a Democracy. He does not have final say.

| Barack Obama’s longtime pastor. Posted: 3/15/2008 2:21:27 AM | Obama's response:
"The pastor of my church, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, who recently preached his last sermon and is in the process of retiring, has touched off a firestorm over the last few days. He's drawn attention as the result of some inflammatory and appalling remarks he made about our country, our politics, and my political opponents."
" Let me say at the outset that I vehemently disagree and strongly condemn the statements that have been the subject of this controversy. I categorically denounce any statement that disparages our great country or serves to divide us from our allies. I also believe that words that degrade individuals have no place in our public dialogue, whether it's on the campaign stump or in the pulpit. In sum, I reject outright the statements by Rev. Wright that are at issue."
" Because these particular statements by Rev. Wright are so contrary to my own life and beliefs, a number of people have legitimately raised questions about the nature of my relationship with Rev. Wright and my membership in the church. Let me therefore provide some context. "

Give it up, the ignorance amongst us will destroy this country. I have grown tired in the past 6 yrs fighting this administration and the pure an blatant denial. 80% of "americans" have no clue what is really going on. They are in complete denial because if they spent any time looking into it their entire existance and belief system would be shaken to the core. So much easier to call us all conspiracy theorists and write us off...while our government is running rogue and making sitting targets of all of us.
www.zeitgeistmovie.com for you...although I am sure you've already seen it.
In terms of our candidates: The Black Guy has no experience and his campaign sounds like a southern baptist church sermon with reverse racism as the shameful foundation for their beliefs...Oprah anyone? The White Woman has too much experience in swindeling and taking care of number one ~herself, slimy lawyer .....although Billie Boy was a fun to watch sax-playing-prez....The White Guy (McCain) seems like he would be above board but alas, he too is owned by corporate america and special interest groups.
RON PAUL was our only hope, too bad enough americans don't know what this country stands for anymore, don't know what their consitutional rights are and could care less that their great empire is going to self destruct. Ignorance and greed will be the end of us.
Give it up, these people will never spend the time to really look into what their government is doing to their country. It is quite sad, but the few of us who give a damn are written off....while the rest practice the ostrich syndrome.
