| Barack Obama, the most Amazing cadidate4 president in decades makes a powerful speech today 3/18/08 Posted: 3/18/2008 3:22:32 PM | My God, If this man doesnt become President of this country then I dont know whats wrong with the American People!
Im sitting in my truck on Madison ave and E. 30th st, watching this amazing man deliver another amazing speach, and I'm thinking to myself, I feel like one of the nameless individuals dipicted in black and white video clips usually shown on the History Channel.
The difference is its not MLK, RFK, or JFK making the speach, but as he self describes himself, "The skinny lil guy with the funny name" Barack Obama at the microphone.
This time there is no crowd in the shot, but the crowd is all across America and the world behind the TV sets in their Office's, Homes, Hospitals, Restaurants, and in my case on my laptop in my Box Truck parked on a mid-town Manhattan street with a small crowd gathered to listen by my driver side window.
Here is the Speech video link below, please listen for yourselves and know that you have witnessed a History Channel moment of the future, and remember where you were when you viewed it. Your Children may ask you questions about it in the future if they are not old enough to understand it now.

| Barack Obama, the most Amazing cadidate4 president in decades makes a powerful speech today 3/18/08 Posted: 3/18/2008 5:13:12 PM | I'm sad to say I just don't agree with the subject title. It is an excellent speech, but this man I do not feel is "the most Amazing candidate" in decades. Nor do I feel he is anywhere NEAR MLK, the Kennedy's or the Roosevelts.
I'm sorry there needs to be more in the soul of a person to achieve that status to me. A person needs to rise above themselves and embrace more then just their own goals and I don't see that in Obama. I see only a masterful politician as slick if not slicker then most manipulating words and images and providing little substance beneath. The speeches are great oratories in an age of "I know how hard it is to put food on your family", but they lack the moral conviction belief and determination to be more then just the words.
A simple example of what I mean is, this speech should have come when people tried to say that Bill Clinton called the Obama canidacy a fantasy. It wasn't what he said, wasn't his intention, and could not even be remotely construed if one listened to the whole speech. But when the press and black leaders jumped and twisted it to create a contraversy he stayed quiet. Yes it wasn't his problem to fix, yes it was to his political advantage to let it happen, yes it ws the right "move". It was then he should have stood up and said lets heal these wounds, not when he himself is bloodied.
But the issue here isn't to be making "moves" not if the goal is to live up to that speech, not if the goal is to follow in the foot steps of great men, its to be making great changes to how things are rather then paying lipservice to adoring fans and those starving for any kind of leadership.
Obama is a GREAT politician and maybe a good Canidate but he is far from being one of the GREAT men.

Locking the barn door after the horse is gone isnt going to help much. There are hints there are more to come from "Wright's Greatest Hits" that are being saved for the fall. Obama is dropping in the polls at this writing like the stock market was a few weeks ago. Sets the stage for an interesting showdown that could tear the Democratic party apart. And you know what? Serves them right. What goes around comes around, as we used to say back in the 'hood.

| Barack Obama, the most Amazing cadidate4 president in decades makes a powerful speech today 3/18/08 Posted: 3/18/2008 6:55:09 PM | VioletSkye, some people have their minds already made up about Obama and aren't open to anything anyone says at this point. Just the way it is.
I can't blame them, there is nothing that could come out of McCain or Clinton's mouth that would sway me at this point. I'll take Clinton over McCain and I think McCain is a good man, no offense to him, I just don't see anything there or any record or history I like other than his being a war hero .........and I had a career Army uncle in WWII who was a true war hero, two Silver Stars for bravery under fire .......the problems we face today.......an old military vet just ain't gonna cut it and if that's all he's got, well, we got us another "war president/decider" dude and if that is the case, we are ****ed. ****ed. ****ed.

| Barack Obama, the most Amazing cadidate4 president in decades makes a powerful speech today 3/18/08 Posted: 3/18/2008 8:01:38 PM | People, even tho they say they wish things were different in our country, they truly don't mean it. I'm afraid that people are just so stuck in predjudice, that even if an angel with wings and all was running for president, if this angel didn't mirror themselves with what they consider the right color, they would vote for the angel.
As far as it seems we've come as a country, we are still so, so far behind. We need a huge change. And Obama is that change. He is definetely more of the same. People say they want change, but I think people are simply afraid of change. They seem to enjoy complaining about how screwed up our country is and how we've had the worst of the worst in command, but when we have an opportunity to do the right thing for ourselves and our families and for all Americans, they don't want to budge. If you're not willing to step up and help to make real changes, please stop complaining.

| Barack Obama, the most Amazing cadidate4 president in decades makes a powerful speech today 3/18/08 Posted: 3/18/2008 9:26:52 PM | Snickergirl Obama is not a Muslim... To say" Muslims plan on destroying America from the inside out" paints a whole group of people whom for the vast majority are not terrorists.
If a Christian fundementalist group commits an act of terror like say blow up an abortion clinic (which has happened) we would not describe all Christians as being terrorists.
Osama Bin Laden does have an idea that America can be "destroyed or harmed from the inside out" after witnessing from what happened to the USSR in Afghanistan.Basically he watched a superpower with vast military resources spend itself to death in a fruitless war.

| Barack Obama, the most Amazing cadidate4 president in decades makes a powerful speech today 3/18/08 Posted: 3/18/2008 10:18:46 PM | VioletSkye, yes, REALLY! I have positive proof that Obama (not his real name, by the way) IS a Muslim plant in a secret plot to take over the United States of America!
Once he is in office, he will OUTLAW the Christian religion and impose Islamic Law. We will have beheadings on the White House lawn! The VP will be found in a ditch one morning and he will appoint Osama bin Laden.....it's true! Dark, swarthy Arab men will swarm the country stealing our virgins with impunity and whisk them away back to Arabland. All the black guys will be let out of jail, too, and dress like A-rabs.
The plan is to steal all our money, our girls, and then NUKE America with its own nucular bombs! And then they will sacrifice our virgins for good luck, only they won't be virgins anymore! Even his own daughters are in on it, one is Fatima and the other is Mariam, only they will be spared and become queens later. Obama's wife is a member of a secret Islamic society at harvard law school and considered a high priestess, she was preside at the beheadings and then cut their hearts out.......while they are still beating!....and then EAT THEM whole.
Call me a liar, if you will. I have positive proof, but I cant reveal my sources as I am sworn to secrecy! We need to vote for John McCain so we can BOMB THEM all before the plot gets underway cuz if Obama doesn't make it, they're going to poison our food supply with sleeping pills and when we wake up, all the virgins will be gone and all the non-virgins will be used as MEAT and slaughtered like pigs and then shipped off to Arabland.
It's true! EVERYONE seems to "know" this except for you!

Of course, the answer to the slavery question was already embedded within our Constitution – a Constitution that had at is very core the ideal of equal citizenship under the law; a Constitution that promised its people liberty, and justice, and a union that could be and should be perfected over time.
And yet words on a parchment would not be enough to deliver slaves from bondage, or provide men and women of every color and creed their full rights and obligations as citizens of the United States. Ya ... those words on that parchment sure didn't set my ancestral slave relatives free from their bondage.
My German ancestor was an indentured slave that cooked for the Union Army ... helping to feed the men who fought so fiercely to set the "black" slaves free ... but that parchment never set him free. During the course of his work, he met and married a Native American woman who followed him around from battle field to battle field ... helping him to cook for that Union Army, but then eventually she got shoved off of her ancestral land to live on a damned reservation.
Ahhhh ... such FREEDOM. Truly glorious for those who really got set free ... right?
I have a huge problem with any presidential candidate that spends so much time talking about his/her race ... and religion for that matter.

| Barack Obama, the most Amazing cadidate4 president in decades makes a powerful speech today 3/18/08 Posted: 3/18/2008 11:15:40 PM | I'm curious as to what kind of change Obama would bring about? More government and taxes? That isn't the change I'm looking for.
Will he somehow get Congress to agree on a national health care/ insurance program? Yeah right.
More social programs? Big whoop, every new administration and new Congress passes new programs, and increases our debt because we can't afford them.
Immigration reform? Doubt it.
Iraq and the WOT? Doubt there will be any real change.
The guy is a smooth talker, I'll give him that, but he won't make any significant changes. It will be politics as usual.

Thank you for that incredibly insightful political analysis.
The Muslims have said they plan on destroying the US from the inside out, what better way to start than at the highest level - through the President of the United States, one of their own!
Jesus get your retarded Republican attack talking points straight, Obama is a secret muslim is so 3 months ago.
