| Solo in Sydney - what to do? Posted: 3/19/2008 6:11:38 PM | | Hi I will be travelling to Sydney Australia for the month of May. I have a friend who is there but working so I have weekdays and most weeknights open. I understand it is a big city with alot of water so getting around is something I would like to hear about. How is the transit? Does anyone have any suggestions about good day trips from Sydney or what to do in the evenings. I'm not looking for a party scene but I would like some entertainment. If you've been then I ask you what is the one thing that you suggest I absolutely must do while in Sydney or nearby. Thanx for your help | |

as said use the ferries Zoo .Darling harbour /casino ,bridge climb /Blue mts are great,do the Jenolan caves trip Sydney aquariums or manly's. Bondie beach off season but might still catch sight of a white pointer off shore fishing are some of the things. Night live would be Oxford st for eating Kings Cross for the red light district or the rockes enjoy your stay

What to do- see the harbour, see a concert in the opera house if you can - really aren't too dear :) bondi's not that impressive - if you want to see a beach get the ferry to manly- its much much nicer. blue mountains are also worth a visit. Its a bit juvenile (but then so am I!) - theres chinese gardens in darling harbour - worth a visit - but the fun bit is you can dress up in the old style chinese clothes. All good fun and cheap at $5- enjoy - spent 2months there and had a blast!
