Posted: 3/19/2008 11:24:39 PM | I'm curious to know how long a man can go without sex. I've heard guys say they can't go a day without and I've heard guys say they can go years without. Does it just depend on the man? Does age factor in on this? I'm curious to see how men feel about this subject. And guys, I appreciate your honesty. Thanks!
As a woman, it can vary. There are some married women who could care less if they ever have sex. And then there are some women in their 30's, who are going through their sexual peak, who can't get enough. | |

Posted: 3/19/2008 11:43:45 PM | It depends what men need sex for. If he is insecure, and it's some sort of ego boost, some can't go very long at all before they feel doubts about their self worth. Other men use sex as a stress release, and lacking the skills to reduce stress in other ways, they need it more often too.
I haven't had it for about 3 months now and I miss the intimacy of being with a woman more than anything else. I think most men would feel the same. | |

I mean, why don't we ask if we can be shut in a cave for a year or two. Probably, but at what cost? Sex, at least to me, doesn't have to be about going all the way. | |

If you have a vivid imagination, you can create fantasies that actually make you get off; it takes practice, but many can do it. You can manipulate yourself physically by masturbation. You can use instruments or just flowing showerhead water with the massage dial on and aimed appropriately.
In addition, you can imagine a sexual fantasy just before retiring at night and often your dream state will catch on and your experiences will be unbelievable to the point of having wet dreams. You can actually orchestrate them.
Although opportunities for physical sex abound, even for an old man my age, often it is more prudent to find other modes of relief rather than get entangled with the challenges of others. I haven't been with anyone for two years yet I get all the sensual pleasure I want... | |

There's these two facets of sex at play. Love/affection/psychological things and chemistry (getting rid of this potent substance!) all that driven by instincts and tempered with social restrictions and cultural stigmas. One is easier to get than the other one...
That's the one thing we we're born to do like it or not. EVERYTHING we do is to get sex one way or another. Just like everything women do is to find the perfect mate and find security for her and her children. And woman should understand that being this way is darn painful! It's not being a pig...it's being tortured by a terrible genetic afflication. We're victims! Our genetic thing is considered disgusting and women' is sweet, caring and generous. But it's just the same thing.

Sex "with another" can almost(that is, almost) be eliminated if you know your body and mind, if you are just trying for certain "goals" with the sex thingy. There is too many toys, information etc out there for the need to look for "someone" for just that sexual release.
Now, if you are asking about "making love",,,well, that is something that I miss dearly, but something that can't be replaced with rubber, latex, imagination, or whatever. I rarely go without "sex", but I am ready to jump off the deep end with the lack of "love making" in my life. | |

It's not the act that matters... it's the feeling behind it.
Making love for the right reasons... not just for pleasure.
When I'm with someone I love, then of course we can have sex for pleasure... but that first time... has to be something special.
Otherwise I feel it just cheapens the act. | |

Anyway, like everyone else is saying, it depends on the guy. As for me, I've gone without sex for 4 years. And at the moment it's been about 8 months since I've last had sex. I don't need to have sex to survive. And my "Swimmers" have been swimming laps for about 6 months now. So sex isn't everything.
Let me add this. I know most girls can't go 2 weeks without it. | |
