| What floats your boat... Non Sexually? Posted: 5/29/2005 7:04:32 AM | A girl who actually likes classical music and oldies. I cannot say that enough. I met a girl like that in a coffee shop, who was in my immediate age range. I nearly split my face open from side to side from smiling so damn hard, after she mentioned that.
Oddly enough, nothing ever developed between us. It just left me scratching my head... she was smiling and laughing more than I was. It ended before it started with "Well I'll contact you if I ever have plans to go out." :_:

Someone that truely respects me for who I am and can allow me to be different from what they want me to be.

| What floats your boat... Non Sexually? Posted: 5/29/2005 7:40:23 AM | | Sitting in the park watching the river flow by, and the cool wind in my face. The solitude and peace of it. Sittin on the dock of the bay,,same thing. The rat race and turmoil in my personal life are beating me up, and have been for some time now. But that's my problem. But some peace and quiet, music, and sitting on a beach for hours, or a riverside soaking in the sounds of tranquility are what I need most. | |

| What floats your boat... Non Sexually? Posted: 5/29/2005 7:45:29 AM | | diamond Good post. I don't like someone who agrees with all my opinions and views just because they're afraid to say they think different. Broke up with someone because of this, I aksed him doesn't he ever think for himself? It drove me batty. I tend to stay away from politics and religion at first, those are usually hot buttons, but if you can't say what you think when it's the diametric opposite of what I think, then I lose interest. I believe and think for myself and enjoy discussing with someone who can respectfully disagree yet allow me my thoughts without trying to change my mind. (that is a normally unattainable goal). I do pay attention to what they say and give it consideration and occasionally do change my viewpoints. Sometimes the other person has more information or a fresh perspecitve is very convincing. I must say that my oldest daughter has caused me to change my views politically almost 100%. She's very well read and has very provocative ideas, plus she has more time to read than I do and I trust her judgement. I learn a lot and keep an open mind and respect the other person's opinions and don't try to argue or convince them otherwise. This open mind thing, though, I must say I have to sit up very straight at all times, when I lean over the brain matter tends to spill out and TRY to get that out of your skirt. Very messy! | |

| What floats your boat... Non Sexually? Posted: 5/29/2005 7:58:11 AM | As one other POFer said to me on the phone, and I wholeheartedly agree, there is a fine line between self confidence and c.o.c.k.i.n.e.s.s.
Quite self confidence, ambition, and a soft yet VERY masculine personality always gets me. Someone who isn't afraid to express himself and intelligence as well.

Intelligence a sense of humor that's a little warped and a mellow personality.
Great answer.
I'd throw in positive (happy and self confident) with a wonderful smile and bright eyes that makes you want to hold her and kiss her.

Ambition, humour, sarcasm, tactility, spontaneity and warmth.
Who ever said opposites attract was wrong. As far as I am concerned like attracts like.
