My favorate strange combo has to be left over roasted pork and grannysmith apple sandwiches... a combo to die for... sweet 'n savory. Chicken salad with green grapes is wonderful too. But I can't be alone in my strange sammy tastes...

Scrambled eggs and tuna w/ a little a little mayo.

My dad used to make this for us when I was little and I started making sandwiches out of it for breakfast. Actually haven't had that in a while.. hmmmmmm

Peanut butter and bacon. I prefer the creamy type peanut butter tho.

New Jersey summer tomato and mayo on rye.

Oh enigmic, have you tried some peeled red delicious apple in tuna salad?

The pork and apple sammich sounds good. I don't see anything strange about it I make home made applesauce from Granny Smiths and serve it with pork roast, so a sammich absolutely is the logical late-night snack or lunch. You're right- the savory pork and sweet/tart apple IS to die for. The only weirdness I see is my son using the leftover potato pancakes as the "bread" for it.

No other odd sammiches for me, sorry. But I do come from a long line of weirdness... Limberger slab with lots of horseradish and mustard on black bread (g'father), peanut butter and bologna on white (uncle), ham & cheese melt on matzo for passover (mother)...

Although I have been using pita for a while instead of regular bread- so maybe the egg, veggie, & cheese scramble in pita?

Pork and apples have been around as a very yummy combination for a long while.. nothing weird about that!

When I was a young child I didn't want to eat my spinach and my mother enforced the "sit till you are done what's on your plate" discipline.
My older sister squirted ketchup on my spinach and told me it was "real good that way"..hahaha.
Well, it was!
I STILL do a little squirt of ketchup on spinach.. mix it in totally.
And I learned it was great as a sandwich. It's one of my favorite tastes.. a real treat!

best kept secret, my dad was into bean and mayo sandwiches.

Charon, hello
I don't see anything wrong with your son using the potato pancakes as the bread MMMMM
Ok now, so you are part Jewish too? Cool, I am not alone...BUT..."ham" AND "cheese" on matzohs for "Passover"?????????
LOLOLOLOLOL Now this is a woman that knows how to throw an "up yours" to the establishment! I see at least 4 laws broken in that snack !! WOOOOO BABY and I thought I was bad.

My dad used to make my brother and I orange sandwiches when we were little, if it was his turn to make breakfast when mom had to work earlier than he did. Hot buttered toast, with thinly sliced oranges in the sandwich, and a sprinkle of cinnamon...I still make these from time to time, they are sooooo good!

This is something I recently tried after I heard about it: peanut butter on a hamburger.

Try mixing tuna salad with dijon mustard instead of mayonnaise.

Fig Newtons instead of chips for salsa.

If you're ever in Sarasota, you MUST stop by Munchies 4:20 Cafe. It's an experience.

Sounds like something I would like to try. Is that with, or without the rind?

Im from the south and we eat banana sandwiches, with mayo. Just slice the banana into rounds, line them up on the bread, then hit it with a pinch of salt and fresh ground black pepper, and it's great.

Sometimes when I pack it for a lunch or picnic, I leave the bananas unpeeled and pack a hotdog bun with a little mayo spread inside it. When its time to eat just open the bun, peel the banana and slip it in the bun whole...sort of a banana dog....LOL

Chip Buttie - French Fry Sandwich that can be buttered or not. Shake on you favourite condiment, mine is HP Sauce but I do like them with mayo.
Next time you order a sandwich- ask for the fries to be placed in the sandwich especially gyros and shawarmas then you will the authentic version of the sandwich.
I also love a cold turkey sandwich with tartar sauce - Louisiana tartar sauce is the best.

He didn't go to college in Illinois did he? I had a friend in college that made cold spaghetti sammiches. Leftover spaghetti on white bread with mayo. I haven't thought of him or those nasty disgusting sloppy sammiches since I left school in '73. Damn- the junk that sticks in the memory forever.

I posted in another thread but my favourite sandwhich is black olives and mayo.

When I was younger I always wanted a "Blue Sand", plain white bread slathered in mayo. Not sure but I think the blue referred to the colour of the Miracle Whip bottle.

Hmmmm and I wonder why I'm a BBW.

Pup daddy - I remember as a child eating the white sugar version of that sandwich many times.

Eunique_one - I have had your "blue" sandwich although it was made with Best Foods, not Miracle whip. My mother would serve them to us towards the end of the month when she was running low on funds.

Charon - I too quite often serve apple sauce with pork. Although I will admit to buying it at the store.

Favororite sandwich without meat would be white bread, mayo, slice cheese, sliced tomatoes, and (optional) sliced avacados.

Favorite breakfast sandwich: toasted sourdough, butter, mayo, fried eggs (yolks broken about halfway through cooking), bacon, ham, cheddar cheese. Options are lettuce and tomato in addition. Very messy but worth it.

I don't know if it is weird, but I love to put potatoe chips (when they serve them at a restaurant or deli) on my tuna fish sandwich, and I LOVE to put sweet relish in my tuna with mayo (Hellman's, of course) although, I grew up on Miracle Whip when I was younger, salt, pepper, diced onion and a tsp of yellow mustard.

I do recall as a kid eating "Fluff-n-Nutter" sandwiches which were white bread with crunchy peanut butter on one side and marshmellow fluff on the other have...whammo...you've got "Fluff-n-Nutter"...but I've since outgrown them.
