| Easter Poem for you all, offered with love

Unto the Hall of Judgment they brought Jesus, ‘twas very early in the day.
They had betrayed Him in the garden, then bound and led Him away.
The high priests questioned and mocked Him, he had only the Truth to speak.
They were enraged all the more to hear it, He had shown them proud and
sinful, with character weak.
So they charged Him to stand before Pilate, just as common criminals do.
False charges were brought on the sinless God-Man, whom they
jeeringly named “King of the Jews”.
Roman soldiers stood eagerly ready to do the horrid task they had perfected.
Neither fear nor regret was seen upon Christ’s face, no guile was ever detected.
Pilate, seeing the innocence of Him, shouted to the angry crowd,
“Behold the man! No fault is found!”
Yet they shouted, wild and loud.
“Crucify Him! Crucify Him!”, was the maddening, whipping sound.
As the King of Kings stood quietly, scourged, bleeding, and bound.
His life to pay sin’s debt for them, ‘twas the one and only way
to reconcile sinful Man with God the Father that day.
The perfect Son of God is He, willing to die in cruel pain.
Christ alone is the spotless Lamb who takes away sin’s stain.
The free gift of eternal life He gives by His death upon the tree.
The precious crimson, cleansing tide flows for you and me.
His redeeming work was complete, so they sealed Him in the grave.
Three days later He arose to life, from Hell our wretched souls to save.
O grave! Where is thy victory?
O Death! Where is thy sting?
The mighty power of God has won!
Let us shout and sing!
Christ, still alive and real today, is ready to answer your call.
Accept His gift, a high price was paid, it’s free for one and all.
So, dear ones, beloved of God, I plead, His Son to take.
Heaven can be yours forevermore, your precious souls are at stake.
You’ll find Him in The Word of God, just seek Him and He surely will,
show you His truth, mercy, grace and salvation to whosoever will.
