I'm on my second Jeep Wrangler. The first was a 2001 TJ and the present one is a 93 YJ. The YJ has a 6 cylinder and 5 speed. Around the Texas Gulf coast, we hit the beach! There are some washed out roads from High Island to Sabine (about 23 miles) that are rough has a cob and worthy of a Jeep.
The trick to being environmentally friendly is to have a doodle bug car to drive around and a Jeep for fun. Heck, it's only money, have fun with it!

The only drawback on my jeep is trunk space, and of course this can easily be fixed by the numerous "transformer" like accessories that you can get for a jeep. My son calls the jeep, the lego of the car world because you can take it apart and put it back together in so many different configurations.
But the benefits of a jeep outweight the drawbacks by tenfold. Just imagine cruising down to the beach (since you live in L.A.) with the top down blaring some of your favorite music and singing at the top of your lungs ... life doesn't get a whole lot better then that! | |

Yeah, we do the same "wave" thing her in NI. That's what I like about jeeps. I have never owned another vehicle where other people waved at me just because I was driving the same type of vehicle. Gotta love jeep lovers! | |

I used to own a jeep cj7 when I was younger. I bought it with a 350 chevy converion done. That little 4x4 would go anywhere and tackle almost any hill. I rolled it a few times trying. I should look for another one. | |
