I play Lawn bowls sometimes, most of my friends find that completely out of character for me.

I'm a professional programmer who runs a videogames website and has an unnatural obsession with Buffy the Vampire Slayer. What do I win?

Well duuuh...I play on an internet forum. Oh wait..you all do that too. But I cop some sh1t from my family and friends for it being a geeky thing to do.

Not sure it's out of character though because geeky comes quite naturally to me.

I have a little TV in my bathroom cos I sometimes like to watch TV in the bath.
My fave winter pj's have Elmo on them.
I have a small collection of pop-up books.
In the ducks' night-time shed I have hung individual photos of each duck (in little timber frames) above each one's favourite nest.
I had a honka-honka horn on my ride on mower (until it got damaged when I sideswiped a tree).

The tardis was always much bigger once you got inside than it appeared to be from the outside. And don't pretend you weren't hoping that connection would be made.

To be 100% honest I only bought them because I used to love Dr Who, but I like your explanation of why I bought those better.

Geeze Racy... I didn't think I was a geek until your post... bugger... I cross stitch too and I like to crochet.

Have just bought a book of crochet stitches... guess that makes me an even bigger geek... Maybe I can swap my book for the tardis bra

I like designing things....things that solve problem...I also enjoy programming machinery to make the things I've designed....Especially if it's 4th axis stuff....

I also like learning html....

I also like databases...

I really enjoy learning about how engines work....airflow....boundary layers.....laminar flow....I'd really like to learn more about Computational fluid dynamics and finite element analysis.......So I can design cylinder head ports on the computer, flow test them on the computer, write machinery programs and then machine them so they are ideal and repeatable....

SO how nerdy/geeky and boring is that!!!!!

Ummmm....when I wear socks they usually don't match? Oh - and I'm a teacher..and I love teaching Science! And I just love our guinea pigs - I pretend I'm gonna gobble them up and squeeze them really close to myself - they're so sweet.

I don't think I do geeky...but I'll keep thinking.

Actually a mate dropped into work today. He does 3D modelling and does scanning etc. Very high tech stuff and also does rapid prototyping.....Like when you see them design an ear using a laser and jelly...although his equipment "prints" the 3D model, but instead of ink, it sprays molten beads of plastic....So basically anything you can draw as a 3D model he can replicate as an actual item in plastic. Even things like he could print a nut ad bolt already screwed together, and when it's finished, you could undo the nut....It's awesome stuff and the lastest technology, and he's nearly 70 years old....and yet he is always learning new technology.....I love it too.....damn I'm geeky....

We got to talking about camshafts and I was telling him about a program I wrote that didn't need to know the actual profile of the camshaft. If you gave me the lift points per degree(or whatever interval you wanted), and the radius of the lifter(even flat tappets have a radius), then the program would design the cam lobe while it machined it using mathematical calculations for each movement of the machining centre.
It used the equations here: http://ozviz.wasp.uwa.edu.au/~pbourke/geometry/circlefrom3/
The machining centre would do these calculations between each machinery movementto machine the lobe on what would appear to be a NURBS curve......

Am I looking Geeky yet....LOL

I fitted a 70 cc two stroke engine to my pushbike. Why? I hear you ask...I can't answer that. It's just something I had to do.

Ok my geek factor is this. I read everything and I mean everything...and retain alot of it ...then someone will mention something about a book or a movie etc and I can recall some dribble about the book like how the author died or how many extras worked in that movie...in other words, Im full of ...........facts !!! complete crap....however it is a good trait for dinner party conversations

I dabble with pennystocks and sometimes daytrade on the stock exchange. It's been a bloodbath recently but things could be interesting soon.
