Yes 40th Anniversary Tour 2008

Just found out about this. Yes will be touring to celebrate their 40th Anniversary. Jon Anderson, Chris Squire, Steve Howe and Alan White will be joined by Rick Wakeman's son Oliver. I guess Rick can't make it...

I am a big Yes fan. would like to go to one of the shows but the price is too high. Playing in Atlantic City N.J. at a casino and the so called cheap seats are 144.00 dollars. best seat are about 700..00. Iwill stay home and watch a dvd of one of the tours from the 70s. They are crazy.

Just got tix for Yes at Mohegen Sun in Uncasville CT. Got cheap seats for 55 dollars from Ticketmaster. I don't really care how good I see the band, as long as I can sort of see and hear the music. But it's a small venue, so it may be better than I expect. I just had to go, as they probably won't tour much more after this.

Actually received my Yes tickets for Mohegen Sun Arena. Cheap seats at 60.00 including taxes and other charges. Still a little expensive, but what the hell. These guys are worth the price. I'm excited about this show.

Sucks there's no Rick Wakeman. But I'd still probably go to this.

Among the songs they expect to play are "Awaken", "Perpetual Change" and "Close To The Edge". I'm actually quite interested in hearing Oliver play his Dad's parts. Something tells me he is not going to suck. And I guess it's possible to hear them play something from "Relayer", since Rick wouldn't play those songs.

I was reading on a Yes website... I think it was Notes From The Edge, that Jon Anderson had actually been battling Bronchial problems for quite awhile during the last Yes tour.

Yes had been pretty busy touring and Jon was disappointed that Yes had not spent any time in the studio recording. He still feels there is at least one last blast of large eventful music within Yes before they retire.

I've grown to re-appreciate the DVD of the 35th Anniversary Tour... especially considering the new information that Jon had been suffering with this bronchial thing during that tour.

It was one hell of a good show. The last with Rick Wakeman, since he can't handle health-wise, the rigors of touring anymore. End of an era.

Lots of good soundboard copies of past Yes shows floating out there on the internet too. My favorite being the Relayer period. If there isn't another Anniversary Tour, I would be happy to see them back in the studio again.

I quite liked Magnification and parts of The Ladder. I read that Jon still works with Trevor on some musical ideas.... although, can't say that the Trevor era was very productive... two albums in one decade? 90210 and Big Generator? (not exactly my favorite Yes period)

If it comes to my area, I will see it. This is probably not a big enough city for them to bother with, though.

I <3 Yes. Still haven't managed to see them live yet though despite having tickets for them in 2003. An opportunity to support Unearth with my band came up and that came first!

I saw them on the "Big Generator" tour in Buffalo, NY. They put on a good show live, and, instead of an opening act, they showed a full length Popeye cartoon about Ali-Baba (or something like that)...which the audience got right into! Wonder if they still do that for an opening...
