| Update on Neighbours Posted: 3/26/2008 9:30:28 PM | I did a search on the soapie "Neighbours" but I could only find one thread on the UK site. I thought I better post here because sometimes the episodes are out of sequence and I would desperately hate to say something that would spoil the enjoyment for our English cousins...
Having said that, I apologise to anyone who reads the english thread, with regards to any redundancies etc that might appear in this thread. I know how precious everyone's time is on the net.... I've hardly got a spare minute in the day and the sight of a redundant thread makes my blood boil....
Anyway, to the topic at hand...... so what do people think about the transformation of Paul? I cant believe a bump on the head can change a person's character!! But it must be true, because he seems to be roolly roolly nice now
|
| Update on Neighbours Posted: 3/26/2008 9:32:47 PM | I can honestly say that Ive never watched a episode of Neighbours ever..too busy on the net I guess..but I do love Two and Half Men !!!. | |

so what do people think about the transformation of Paul? You mean he 'changed his spots'??? Maybe the other thread is now redundant!
| |
|
| Update on Neighbours Posted: 3/26/2008 9:52:30 PM | well i must admit that it played a part in why i posted this thread... i mean if paul can change his spots then an average guy should be able to change his..
Not that it was the sole reason for starting the thread.... I mean, we are Aussies and Aussies have to post things that are fair dinkum and I was quite shocked that after 46 minutes of searching, that I couldnt find any other thread that could adequately encompass views and opinions about this most seminal of soaps...

I know how precious everyone's time is on the net.... I've hardly got a spare minute in the day and the sight of a redundant thread makes my blood boil.... Your cyncisim is an unending source of mirth for me, and I thank you.
I don't get to see Neighbours at all in summer because it is screened during 'duck penning/dog walking/chicken feeding time', but as sunset slowly falls earlier and earlier, and the colder months descend, I start to get back up to the house in time to hear the opening theme music ...Naaaaybors....every body needs good naaaaaybors. It warms my winter more than any wood fire can.
I cant believe a bump on the head can change a person's character!! But it must be true, because he seems to be roolly roolly nice now
Is Paul nice now? I have no idea what bump on the head you're talking about. I think last I saw he had a brain tumour and memory loss, but that would have been some time ago now. But I happened to catch a glimpse yesterday, and apparently Paul is cheating on whoever his current partner is...so is he really roolly roolly nice, or just nice for Paul? The fact that such an evil global corporate genius chooses to live in a family home in the thick of suburban Erinsborough has always delighted me. Yes, Neighbours is a winter sport for me and I shall need some time to catch up. MarkPerth, feel free to provide some pre-reading that might assist.

| Update on Neighbours Posted: 3/26/2008 10:49:03 PM | | And whatever happened to Billy...Oh that's right he told everyone he was going to queensland but really he went to the States to be a doctor with Blackadders mate, Prince Regent. | |

| Update on Neighbours Posted: 3/26/2008 10:57:31 PM | cynical... moi?
It was just that earlier today it was pointed out to me via a post in another thread that I had disrupted another poster's ying or was that yang?, by starting a new thread when there was already a thread in Greater Yukons message listing.... me of course, committing the cardinal sin of not checking all upper and lower provinces of the north americas for thread topics closely or near closely or possibly closely resembling or nearing the topic posted in the last mentioned bulletin board. Totally embarassed by my careless error, I have been unceremoniously and ceremoniously whipping myself in time with a gregorian chant CD that i purchased from monastery in the nether regions of the upper Alps..... having cleansed myself, I'm ready to post again..
Anyway, back to Paul...... I have missed the last two months because of a second job that I have taken on. I may have missed the steady decline of the once-pristined character of Paul post his run in with the surgeon's knife..
If he's nasty again, I apologise to all english neighbourites who are seeking the truth..

It was just that earlier today it was pointed out to me via a post in another thread that I had disrupted another poster's ying or was that yang?, by starting a new thread when there was already a thread in Greater Yukons message listing.. Actually I read that as her giving you another link in case your own thread was deleted (it was under a vote at the time) and in case you wanted to continue to discuss the topic. I thought she was being kind. OMG, does that mean I am capable of seeing the good in people!!??!! Surely not.
But yes, back to Paul. OK well I will do my best to get my chores done in time to catch more of the show tonight and report back. I am so glad we're finally discussing something socially relevant.

| Update on Neighbours Posted: 3/27/2008 12:35:26 AM | ahhh... well there ya go. I was trying to work out why people were bombing the thread and I maliciously struck out at a good samaritan who was kind enough to offer me the olive branch of another thread to post in....
well .... good things have come out of bad and I would never have thought of starting this thread, if it wasnt for that good woman...
alas naaaamah, I will be engaged with fellow racketeers in a game tonight and will not be able to partake of the chalice of wisdom.... although I will be recklessly bingeing after the game.... which leads me to the Toad...
I think we need updates on the Toad as well as the Paul. The Toadmeister has been a source of inspiration to me as he studied for and then became a successful lawyer over the period of two years.

| Update on Neighbours Posted: 3/27/2008 12:42:02 AM | There seems to be more criticism about the actual thread than the discussion of 'Neighbours'.....
Just wait 'till I start my 'Lost' Thread

| Update on Neighbours Posted: 3/27/2008 1:59:24 AM | Wow series 4 of Lost has got to be the best one so far! Sure there are cliff-hangers still in the last 10 seconds of every episode, but there are a lot more answers in each ep so far, it's just great!!! Also if you dl the episodes off the net as they come out in America you get to see them in high def with no ads!! It's just fantastic :D:D:D

| Update on Neighbours Posted: 3/27/2008 2:20:03 AM | This thread is hilarious. I vote it the best thread ever. But only if none of the other threads are entered in the competition.
and thanks for the little guy with the smiling face and the two hand salute.. You crack me up.
My neighbour, everybody needs good neighbours, took photos of me this afternoon as I walked my dogs. Damn paparazzi. I felt like Britney Spears. But with knickers on. Gee I hope the invisible leashes I use to walk my dogs show up in the pictures, otherwise I'm screwed.
But I did manage to catch one segment of Neighbours. Some kids were in a club, but I only recognised Rachel, and one of the ex-Idol guys who has apparently joined the cast. All quite boring really. But Mark_Perth I did see the Toad briefly as he farewelled Harold. Not sure where Harold is going though, but it must be for a long time cos the scene involved eye-wiping with hankies. Big man hankies, none of your namby pamby tissues for the Toad. At least this time Harold is not to be swept off rocks whilst fishing, only to return years later with no memory. Speaking of which, why is memory loss so damn common on these types of shows? Perhaps I knew the answer to that at one point and have merely forgotten it. Perhaps I used to be someone else, and just forgot, and started being me without realising it. Must investigate that further. And this show 'Lost' some of you are talking about ...is it full of characters who have lost their memories? That would be weird.
The other thing I love about the Toad is how there are enough legal cases amongst the residents of the street he lives in to sustain the law firm he started after his two year uni studies. It's very convenient that he lives in a street where people are sued, or want to sue someone, weekly. Much like the hospital doing a roaring trade due to the injury prone nature of the people who live in Ramsay Street. Here's another one of those ones you like so much

omg your seriously all really into this show... Err, there's a lot of sarcasm in the mix there mmm that you might perhaps be missing. Neighbours is iconic. But it's an icon that we like to take the p1ss out of mercilessly. The UK takes it more seriously I think. But it's longevity, the names that have sprouted from it, the fact that its homegrown and that the UK went so ballistic over it, the fact that it's on around dinner time...all mean that most Aussies probably have at least a passing awareness of it. And like any soapie...it's an absolute hoot when you boil down the story lines, which is what MarkPerth seems to be having a chuckle about.
Is Libby & Drew still there Libby seems to be, but Drew died years ago. Man he was hot.
