| 80's hairbands/ metalbands....... Posted: 3/27/2008 8:17:50 AM | ...ya gotta love em'. They produced some of modern rock's greatest music, that is still selling till today. Nothing's better then some good ol' Motley Crue, Metallica, CINDERELLA (most under-rated), Poison, Warrant, Bon Jovi, Anthrax, Faster pussycat, L.A. Guns, Firehouse, Skid Row, Def Leppard, Megadeth, Stryper, Slaughter, and on, and on and on..........................
God bless the late 80's!
.......and here's a song for all of you folk's who are still stuck in em'. (sorta like I am)
Check out on youtube: the song "1985" by Bowling for Soup

| 80's hairbands/ metalbands....... Posted: 3/27/2008 9:07:22 AM | | Yes, I had some good times back then, if I must say so myself. Did you get a chance to watch the video that I posted? If so; how about the bassist in the video? If he didn't look like Nikki Sixx (at that one part) back during Theartre of Pain, then I'll eat my hat! | |

if a woman has broken your heart, the best song to get over it is 'broken heart' (White Lion) i have done it a lot of times and makes you feel a lot better
nowadays, most new bands are shite! but we have those good ones of the 80's.

| 80's hairbands/ metalbands....... Posted: 3/29/2008 1:41:14 AM | | I agree with the OP, Cinderella was WAY underrated. I saw them with Judas Priest way back in 1988, and they were freakin awesome. I guess people didn't take their music more seriously because they wore all that makeup and had stupid videos. I thought the songs on their albums that weren't released as singles were far better than the ones that got airplay. I would love to see the original lineup get back together and go on tour again. Tom Keifer and his pouty lips, hubba hubba. | |

| 80's hairbands/ metalbands....... Posted: 4/1/2008 2:08:24 AM | | The 80's hair/metal bands I liked back then were Ratt(Warren DeMartini was no joke), Night Ranger(even they were pop-ish, Brad Gillis and Jeff Watson were killer guitarists), Winger(Reb Beach was a beast), Dokken(George"Smokin" Lynch) Van Halen, Scorpions, Def Leppard, Ronnie James Dio(when Vivian Campbell was with him), and a few others I can't think of at the moment. | |

| 80's hairbands/ metalbands....... Posted: 4/2/2008 11:39:01 PM | I own most of the bands you all have mentioned on CD. I was listening to Van Halen " The Best of Both Worlds earl;ier and it's much ebtter than the Volume 1 theyr eleased many years ago. I still need to get Great White's Greatest Hits, a KISS hits CD (have none of their music), White Lion maybe, KIX, David Lee Roth hits CD and eventually some more Dangerous Toys lol. I don't care much for Metallica though. Oh yeh and I can't forget Queensryche's Greatest Hits either because I want it too lol. Ty | |

| 80's hairbands/ metalbands....... Posted: 4/4/2008 4:58:41 PM | I could not more strongly disagree. Some of worst, cookie cutter crap ever.
But hey rock on if that's your thing!

| 80's hairbands/ metalbands....... Posted: 4/5/2008 10:49:49 AM | I never got the whole hair band thing. There were a few good songs like Photograph and Round and Round but I agree, the rest was cookie cutter. It was like they all tried to be Zeppelin and fell way short. Except for Van Halen and G&R but I never considered them hair bands.

| 80's hairbands/ metalbands....... Posted: 4/6/2008 2:03:37 PM | | I love alot of that music, some were great, and some were really bad. Most people judge them by the big hair, and obnoxius clothes, but alot of those guys in their prime could play circles around any musician of any genre. | |
|
| 80's hairbands/ metalbands....... Posted: 4/18/2008 8:16:32 PM | I was in my late teens/early 20's in the 80's and I have to say that the music rocked! Some of my favorites back then were Guns & Roses, Whitesnake, ac.dc, Kiss, Poison, Ratt, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Warrant and I can go on..... and yes, I had the hair and wore the clothes back then too! | |
|
| 80's hairbands/ metalbands....... Posted: 4/19/2008 1:44:56 AM | | Major Announcement folks ! The very first Crue Fest will be kicking off soon! Motley Crue, Buckcherry, and friends. Should be a good summer. | |
|
| 80's hairbands/ metalbands....... Posted: 4/19/2008 8:34:36 AM | The 80's definalte had a LOT of incredible musicians who had guitar guitar players and great singers.
They wrote loads of instant classics and they all understood the idea of great Melody!!!
So you can't forget Dokken, Winger, White Lion, Van-Halen, Tears for Fears (ok, they weren't metal, but they have the highest number of hit singles and are a great borderline Prog band), Scorpions, Rough Cutt, Racer X (Paul Gilbert is WILD!!!), Mr. Big, Jason Becker and Marty Friedman (Speed Metal Symphony!!!), Iron Maiden, etc...
