| My profile! Is it rubbish? Posted: 3/28/2008 2:59:53 PM | Why hello...
Well, I've amended my profile on here a few times and am looking for input I guess. Anything else I should say? Or shouldn't say? I don't feel like I can sum myself up in a little box!! Argh!!
I'm also a bit worried that the profile pictures look somewhat 'forced' and so I might put up some other shots at some point. What do you think?
Thanks in advance.

| My profile! Is it rubbish? Posted: 3/28/2008 3:08:33 PM | You have etc etc as an interest?? That just tells people that you either have very few, or just couldn't be bothered to fill any more out. So go back and either remove that, or fill some more in.

I thought I'd give this online dating thing a bash and see if anything comes of it... ... we can see that you are trying it out.. you are here.
You mention your dreams/aspirations, yet then do not mention any of them. Any reason for that?
Maybe elaborate on the person you want to meet... a lot of people are into music, but there are so many genres of it.. so specify what music you like just to give a guideline.
First date... well, secrets are meant to be shared, so put a bit more into that... looks like another 'can't be bothered' moment happened there

Points taken indeed - thanks very much. Although, as for the first date - I think it should be a surprise. I think it takes out a lot of fun when one reveals too much. But yes, I might give it a go.
Merci buckets. | |

| My profile! Is it rubbish? Posted: 3/28/2008 6:56:04 PM | First, the "cranky" lady's right. Avoid phrases like "etc. etc." or "I'm not sure what to write" or "I'm not sure why I'm facing this way (photo caption)." Just write what you've got to write.
Second, since you're an "Accounts guy/Musician" you might want to write about that. You've got a pic of you jamming (or at least holding a guitar). You might as well start there. In fact, I might even use that pic as your main pic.
Next, expand upon your interests.

| My profile! Is it rubbish? Posted: 3/29/2008 12:50:52 PM | You're a good looking guy, but your solemn-faced pics are at odds with your funny, light-hearted profile. How about some smiling pics?
I got a chuckle out of reading in this thread how passionate you are about the "etc, etc." That's the kind of humor that makes a profile shine. Well, that and some smiley photos.

Thanks very much for that... yes, I do need to find some smiling pictures. Or take some. I do seem to be getting lots of very nice and interesting people looking at my profile now. They just don't seem to want to talk to me :)
Thanks all of you again - of course, if anyone else has any input that'd be great!
