Washing the bed linens, etc.Page 1 of 3    (1, 2, 3)
Seems like whatever I ask on here gets deleted but, because I'm curious, perhaps I'll give it another try......
I know you ladies are born and bred to be much more adept then us men will ever be at keeping your homes clean and smelling nice, so please allow me some input on washing the bed clothes. My question is, "how often do you strip down your bed and wash everything"? (only looking for an average here) ......OR......do I just stick with the male version of cleaning? ' when you can no longer sleep face down because the smell keeps you awake, it's time to wash'
Thank you in advance!

Definitely every week, sometimes more often depending on the season and if the air conditioner isn't working. That description of the male version of cleaning? I just have to say ewwwwwwwwww......

Every week. (sometimes more often depending on what has gone on in the bed!)

There's nothing nicer than getting into a bed that has just had fresh bedding put on.

I wash my bed linens at least once a week. To me, other then the smell of rain, there's nothing better in the world then clean smelling bed sheets.

The male version of cleaning made me laugh.

I'd say at least once a week. I love climbing into a bed that has the fresh-out-of-the-wash/dryer feeling! I'm somewhat of a clean freak. :)

At the very least once a week but I really try to two times a week. Nothing better than smelling Downy fresh sheets at night!

I'm curious, how often do guys REALLY wash their sheets. And if you answer...be honest

There's NO way a guy is going to answer that.

They really should put that on the bottle somewhere

Bad news, Red, neither way is working for me....

I'm going to try pitching a tent outside so that I can have that clean smell all the time, without the hassle of washing sheets.

I'll let you know how that goes...

Well OP I guess I wasn't "born and bred" right because after reading the answers from all the other women on here, I am for once too embarrassed to admit the truth. OMG...once a week??? I am SOOOOOO very far from that it's not even funny!

Let's just say that I am going into the bathroom right after this to see if maybe I have a meat puppet that might be lurking in there somewhere because there's no way that I'm a woman according to the frequency of how often I change my sheets....dang!

I do the laundry once a week and besides washing my clothes (obviously), I also wash bed linens and bath towels/wash cloths. The stuff I use on a daily basis, in other words. :-)

I wash mine once a week-usually on Sundays, they're in the dryer right now.

I don't think anyone wants to crawl into a bed that smells like booty funk. LOL Men should really think about trying to wash them at least every like 10 days or something.

To wash, or not to wash, that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler for nose to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous smell,
Or to take washing powder against a sea of stinking sheets
And by opposing end them. To die—to sleep,
No more in dirt and sweat; ....

PS I am so going to post this question in Ask a Guy now...

I just threw up a little reading that. I change all sheets in my house everyother day. My kids nor I sleep more then 2 nights without clean sheets - on days when I do not change them I spray the beds with fresh linen spray prior to making the beds .. Some call it OCD .. I call it just making sure I dont get sick at the thought

I cant stand filthy houses HUGE pet peeve and turn off

alwaysme2 here is my honest answer.

I wash them once a month only because I sleep on top of them. The reason being is that I get to hot under all the covers. So I sleep with barely my bedspread covering me.

Of course when I have a woman over and we end up in the room that will be a different story. But until that happens I'll just wash them once a month.

You have all that on your bed? wow...

I change/wash my sheets every week or so, more often if there has been guests ;)

I only use a duvet, nothing else so I wash the cover every month or so. The duvet and feather pad gets cleaned once a season.

I wash them every two weeks, sometimes more if I've had a lot of action going on. Although I try doing that on top of the comforter so i can just wash that. I take two baths a day so I go to bed fresh and clean.

oh and a plug for bath and body works lavendar linen spray. it smells divine.

I wash mine every other week, as they tend to stay cleaner longer because I shower every night before bed. When I have "company" that's an entirely different story.

Once a week for sheets and pillowcases...once a month for the comforter. If it is nice out, I will hang everything outside after washed...mmmmmmmmm nothing like sheets hung outside..smell soooo good.

But stop putting pressure on me to be a better housekeeper :
I know you ladies are born and bred to be much more adept then us men will ever be at keeping your homes clean and smelling nice

I don't want men thinking I like housework...geezzzz...I do it because I have to, and shhhhhhhhhh, don't tell anyone, but I don't vacuum every day, and I never dust until you can't see the tv screen anymore

OMG, My eyes, my eyes. The pain. LMAO!
I can't even fathom. I view the bedroom as a sanctuary~ it needs to be clean, fresh and inviting. The bed needs to be immaculate and made properly. I'm almost psychotic about it, perhaps it's the nurse in me. I'd say no more than 4 days, max. Nothing better than taking a bath/shower and getting into a fresh bed after a long day.
