Posted: 3/31/2008 9:38:11 AM | On March 30, the Russian News & Information Agency, Novosti, cited “a high-ranking security source: 'The latest military intelligence data point to heightened US military preparations for both an air and ground operation against Iran.'”
According to Novosti, Russian Colonel General Leonid Ivashov said “that the Pentagon is planning to deliver a massive air strike on Iran’s military infrastructure in the near future.”
The chief of Russia’s general staff, Yuri Baluyevsky, said last November that Russia was beefing up its military in response to US aggression, but that the Russian military is not “obliged to defend the world from the evil Americans.”
On March 29, Chris Floyd cited a report by the Saudi Arabian newspaper Okaz, which was picked up by the German news service, DPA. The Saudi newspaper reported on March 22, the day following Cheney’s visit with the kingdom’s rulers, that the Saudi Shura Council is preparing “national plans to deal with any sudden nuclear and radioactive hazards that may affect the kingdom following experts’ warnings of possible attacks on Iran’s Bushehr nuclear reactors.”

The author was an official in the Reagan administration among other things.
I've thought an attack on Iran was coming for the past few years, but I was beginning to change my mind. After all, Bush has less than 10 months left in his second term. Would he really launch another war? | |

The only problem I see with this is the fact that we go in to any fight with our hands tied behind our backs. Our hands are tied by a public that can not stand the sight of body bags...Our enemies know this and exploit it....Our enemies see the division that is caused by a soldiers death. They understand that if they keep sending the body bags home...We quit...We leave...We surrender...We would rather call our President the most horrible names we can think of than to finish a job that needs to be finished.
See, the argument for and against starting the Iraq War is over. The war was started....
It matters not the reason. We are there. We have two choices. Win or Lose.
Losing would be a terrible thing...So the best option would be to win. No matter how long it takes. We need to win.... | |

Let them kill eachother off and let us be rid of them.
Most of these guys never had a bloody nose from a fist fight much less landed a few on someone else, yet they wish to see 60 million people incinerated by nuclear weapons or think WWIII might be "fun" ....

Posted: 3/31/2008 2:21:17 PM | I have thought for about a year that Bush will invade Iran before he leaves office, he'll push and push and push for it, pull things out of thin air to try to convince the powers that be that it's a good idea, because he knows nothing else. He is a horrid horrid man and if we invade Iran we'll really be in for some trouble. Because unlike Iraq, they really do have WMD's. And I think they have North Korea in their pocket.
The only problem I see with this is the fact that we go in to any fight with our hands tied behind our backs. Our hands are tied by a public that can not stand the sight of body bags...Our enemies know this and exploit it....Our enemies see the division that is caused by a soldiers death.
How about the hands that are tied because when they shoot someone they go to trial? How about the hands that are tied becuase of beuracracy not letting soldiers be soldiers anymore? How about not blaming the public for any of this? Because the public's intolerance to seeing body bags does not come out of just sadness. They're doing this to distract from the economy collapsing and war machines are temporary economy boosters. Any country they can control (who threaten to abandon exchange with the American dollar) is targeted and Iran is one of them. But, most people are too stupid to realize this or care. | |
