What the heck is an "activity partner"?

I see it on a lot of personals. Is it something sexual? Or is it something as simple as looking for a jogging partner? Sorry for my ignorance, but I don't want to be mistaken with something like that ha ha.

The admin of this site meant it to mean a partner who joins you in activities such as cycling or jogging etc etc.

I thought it was innocent. But a lot of women are filtering out "Activity Partner" in their profile, but are seeking Friendship and Dating. What do they think it means folks?

dating would imply a romantic interest. Activity partner who imply no romantic interest. You can have a date and go bowling but maybe hope for a kiss at the end of the "date". An activity partner is going to go bowling with ya but is just gonna wave goodbye.
