| How did you get to Ohio? Posted: 4/3/2008 8:07:41 AM | | OK..... I saw this on a Texas thread , thought it might be interesting to know how everyone got to Ohio, weather you were born here, or if you moved here, and if so ....WHY did you move here?.....And are you planning on staying or do you have bigger and better things to move on to? | |

| How did you get to Ohio? Posted: 4/3/2008 8:25:06 AM | | I was actually born here at OSU. My mother was from Columbus and my father was from Denver (she met him at an Air Force dance). We moved back to Denver and I grew up there until I was 12, then they got sick of the rat race there and moved us all out here and I've been here ever since. I like Columbus so I have no real plans to ever leave it, but if I had a job transfer (or my partner did) I wouldn't object to relocating. | |

| How did you get to Ohio? Posted: 4/3/2008 11:26:15 AM | | Good question! It's interesting to read about how other people landed where they are today. I was born in GA (Savannah, hence the screen name), but I lived in NC until 2000 when I landed on Buckeye soil. I moved here to return to school and to accept a new job. I'm not sure whether I'll stay here forever. My son graduates from college in a year; my job allows me the freedom to live just about anywhere I'd want to. So, moving wouldn't be an impossibility ... and I sure do miss the mild Southeastern winters! | |

| How did you get to Ohio? Posted: 4/3/2008 11:35:05 AM | | I was born in Honolulu. My Mother, originally from Cleveland, didn’t like being so far away from her family. My Father, being in the Coast Guard, unfortunately put in a request to be stationed in Painesville Ohio, so at the ripe old age of a blissful 6 months my days of surfing and beach bumming were over. One day I will return if nothing else just for a visit but how I long to live somewhere grass skirts and coconut bras are acceptable, not to mention its riding season all year long..... (hmmm I don't think I will be riding with the coconut bra and grass skirt on though!) | |

| How did you get to Ohio? Posted: 4/3/2008 11:53:48 AM | I was born and raised on the beaches of sunny Southern California...In 2000 my hubby decided he needed a change of scenary and found a job transfer in Columbus so we up and moved with the 2 boys and 2 dogs and a cat. I get homesick alot, and would like to move west someday, but it probably wont happen until my kids are out of high school. I miss the sun and the beach but not the smog and the traffic. I think in general life is a bit slower and more enjoyable here..., but I guess I'll always be a California girl. | |

| How did you get to Ohio? Posted: 4/3/2008 3:46:24 PM | | I was born in Greenfield, OH. Moved to Washington Court House when I was a few months old. Lived in Court House till I got married and went Ft. Lewis with my first husband. Then moved back here for some time and then moved to GA with my 2nd husband. Then I came back to Court House and lived here ever since. I don't plan on living OH again. But one never knows what will happen. | |

| How did you get to Ohio? Posted: 4/3/2008 4:52:14 PM | | i was born in the suburbs of Cleveland and was raised there until i was 12. my mother and her husband went seeking the fountain of youth in Florida. after 13 years of free spanish lessons and drug trafficing pointers, i headed to Utah for an education in sociology. after marrying at 24, my husband and i returned to the cleveland area to work my family business at barberton speedway. he was killed in an unfortunate accident at 29. i then moved to the amish farmland in west salem where i thoought i would raise the kids i adopted, however, my daughter's baggage and the services available in franklin county for her, brought me here. i'll stay untill she is well. my work is on mooresville north carolina, that's where i'd like to be someday. | |

| How did you get to Ohio? Posted: 4/4/2008 3:34:47 AM | | Born and raised right here in central Ohio. Cant say I havent lived elsewhere because I was military for five years so I have lived in Southern, northern calif as well as on the east coast. I prefer warm weather.. these cold winters are hard on me too. I have a six yr old and sixteen yr old so I think I may have to stick it out here at least two more years unless my girls decided they WANT to leave..lol. | |

| How did you get to Ohio? Posted: 4/4/2008 8:52:41 AM | | I was born in Boston, MA and lived there the first 15 years of life. My father was a defense department employee who was transferred to Columbus. I was actually going to leave Ohio after high school graduation and go back to the east coast but I found going to Ohio State a lot more economical at the time. I did go back east briefly then back to north of Columbus, and met my now ex-wife. I would love to live in New England again or Florida, but with a daughter only 3, that custody stuff would be hard to arrange so I stay here in Columbus for her. | |
