| cocktail sauce.... made easy Posted: 4/5/2008 2:07:12 PM | The more horseradish the better. I make mine like the OP's but I add some garlic to it. | |
|
| cocktail sauce.... made easy Posted: 4/5/2008 4:03:23 PM | I make mine the same way OP, and I love it. In fact, there is a food I have never eaten...store bought coc ktail sauce. I would be afraid to try it. I don't like to waste even a dollar LOL
I have only one question.....WHERE ARE THE GULF OYSTERS???????? Truly, no oyster on earth tastes as great as a raw Gulf of Mexico Oyster. Same with Texas Brown Shrimp. You will never taste a better shrimp and they are huge and easy to peel. I can tell you one thing, if you want to taste a good shrimp, never buy farmed or fresh water...those are nasty to me.

| cocktail sauce.... made easy Posted: 4/5/2008 8:26:59 PM | I agree w/smiling! Of course, I can get the good shrimp here in Galveston so I am spoiled! I had never made****ail sauce or seen it made until I was at a social function in Michigan a year ago and they ran out of****ail sauce. They did the ketchup, garlic, worchestershire sauce thing and I have to admit I was really impressed! | |

| cocktail sauce.... made easy Posted: 4/6/2008 8:19:35 AM | Hey thanks Geeser! This is so simple, even I could make it!
Just a question - how much ketchup, whistershire and horse radish (to taste?)
|
| cocktail sauce.... made easy Posted: 4/6/2008 9:04:23 AM | Along the same line regarding horseradish, I have a thing for that Zesty Sauce that comes with Burger Kings onion rings (I wish they sold it!). It's killer good on a roast beef sandwich. Here's how to make a good close version:
1/2 cup mayonnaise 1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar 1 1/2 teaspoons ketchup 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice 1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
Mix and chill for an hour before using.

| cocktail sauce.... made easy Posted: 4/6/2008 3:49:23 PM | | well, I just add as much whistershire sauce as I think would be tasty. I don't think you can overdo it.. and the horseradish? the more the tangier....... always to taste | |
