| Blocking people Posted: 4/5/2008 2:05:14 PM | | Does anyone know if you can completely block someone on this site. I mean I know you can prevent them from emailing you by blocking them in an email from them to you, but can you block them from seeing you and you seeing them? | |

But if you like the forums and to post and the person knows this they will be able to see your profile, providing you have a pic displayed. I know it's a pain in the backside,I have a couple checking me out all the time and their not even smart enough to use the option so I can't tell their checking my profile out Good luck singleislander try to ignore it she/he/they will get tired and move onto their next victim soon enough!

| Blocking people Posted: 4/17/2008 6:20:29 AM | Well, it's sort of like walking into a singles bar and asking the bouncer to get 'that person' to stop looking at you. Online - no place to hide. Generally those who follow you around do so because they get something out of your reaction, even if it is just to see you squirm and post a thread asking how to block them! For Some people ANY kind of attention does it for them.
I recommend Ignore them. Act like they don't exist. Unless of course they are in your physical space and are some sort of threat and then there are legal methods to stop a stalker.
Good Luck!

| Blocking people Posted: 4/19/2009 10:24:23 AM | I honestly don't get the whole stalking online thing. There is always ways to ignore the person, ie the x wayyyy up there in the right hand corner... ctrl alt delete another way. The block feature again, or just simply let them message you and you don't respond. Now if they are stalking you in reality that is another issue. So unless you give them pertinent information about you, online stalking shouldn't be that big of a deal. | |

I'm beginning to wonder if this site is for anyone really. A number of my friends, both guys and gals have nothing good to say about the site or the people they have met through POF. One of the chics who left and isn't going to bother with it anymore calls the site "Pool of Pirhana". I may have to agree with that assessment, because I had to delete an account on account of too many wingnuts voraciously looking for the 'wrong' kind of date. I notice others have changed their accounts as well. *winks* | |
