RECENT REVIEW!
"One of the major hubs of the Glaswegian country-western subculture, this music hall is teeming with true love of the music and western nostalgia. Activities range from more line dancing, a fake shoot-out and (Confederate) flag folding ceremony to a raffle and fast-paced bingo.
It's more of an older crowd, but is mixed with young country music lovers and simply those out for a brilliant night. Even non-country music fans will find themselves having a fantastic time, as the mood is typically Glaswegian-- working class, unpretentious, energetic and filled with a rollicking sense of humour."
There is also the 'chuck wagon' where food is served throughout the evening.
During the 'shoot-out' and bingo session it would be appreciated if the fish respect the regular customers of the club and remain quiet at this time and just enjoy watching the shoot-out or participating in the bingo.

| Glasgow Fish @ The Grand Ole Opry 14th June Posted: 4/7/2008 11:19:44 PM | Hi Scrummy/Glasgow Rose, The fishes are i for a great night at the " OPRY " I founded " Glasgows Grand Ole Opry " exactly 30 years ago , 23rd May 1978 was our very first Night of the Club, it was then a Club within a Club, only on a Friday Night, but it was so successfull, it subsidised the other nights, that we changed it to a Country Music Venue, This is the only Building in the World called the Grand Ole Opry, the Late President , Alex Flemming registered it in Edinburgh in 1980. All The Cowboys/Cowgirls, Indians & Squaws use Western Names, Authentic & of course from film & Tv. I was known as Johnny Reb or Chief Crazy Horse, the latter name was given to me by Stan Stennet the Commedian/Actor, i was doing my Dj at a Club in England & dressed in Full Indian Gear , He was the Cabaret, When I finished my spot He thanked me & asked the Audiance for a round of applause for our DJ " Chief Crazy Horse ", " As anyone who Dressed like that has to be Crazy " & as i had differant coloured War Paint on , his next retort was " Well seen he is a Jock, he's got Tartan paint on " I'd advise our fellow to be early if they want a seat, though it can seat 500 People between the Upstairs & Downstairs, Bar & Dance Floors in both flights. A Saturday Night is normally their busiest night. I'm realy looking forward to this night , even if i have to throw a sickie Well done Scrummy & Glasgow Rose, at least you are trying your hardest to try & please every & varying the Venues for our Meets. Our Hostesses with Mostest
BEST REGARDS HUGHIE. | |
