| Let us talk of many things. Posted: 9/17/2004 8:19:20 AM | Does anyone have some general advice on striking up a conversation with a complete stranger? I have had little luck getting past initial introductions.

My name is........Would you be interested in going out for some beers/coffee(your choice) sometime with me?.........I'll give you my phone number and you can decide on if you would like to call or not...........It was very nice meeting you........(walk away)
I wish this was a universal thing, but alas.......we just walk on by with our jaws open

Yes, observe what they are doing at the time, are they looking at a book, is it one you have read, then you say OMG, you have to get that it is excellent, if it's one you have not read, you say hey that looks interesting whats it about?
In the grocery store, the possibilities are endless, hey does this fruit look ripe to you? cause I can never tell, or hey good idea I am going to get some of that as well where did you find it? Walking down the street, smile and say hi to everyone, some people would just love to chatter. And you know what, you put that vibe out there and people will just start chatting with you.
