| XBox 360 Gamers unite!
Posted: 4/6/2008 11:57:20 AM | I'm an Xbox-er and was just hoping to provide a thread where people can talk about what they're playing and loving on XBox Live!
I'm currently playing Rainbow Six Vegas 2 a lot right now as well as trying to get back into COD4 a little more.
Also, I've completed Mass Effect 4 times now and enjoy picking it back up again from time to time. I'm kind of bored with Halo 3. Too many punks and not enough fun. I may give it a try again when the new maps are released April 15th.

Posted: 4/7/2008 2:46:13 AM | | i was playing cod4 on my pc the other day. i figured i'd try it out, it was actually pretty cool. the chernobyl part was really freaky cause i read a book about it recently, written by a photographer who went there and took a bunch of really awesome pictures, and its as if they used her pictures to mold the scenery around, everything from the childrens playground to the empty swimming pool with the pack of dogs, and the ferris wheel and whatnot. it was actually really creepy walking through that area. | |

Posted: 4/7/2008 12:48:40 PM | Yes the solo campaign on COD4 is pretty cool. Just ridiculously hard toward the end, but I did finally beat it. I have no desire to play some of those latter stages again, though... lol
I guess Mass Effect wasn't everybody's cup of tea. I just loved the fact of feeling like you were part of an extremely cool sci-fi action movie with amazing characters and drama. Would make a killer real movie, actually.
I'm looking forward to Bethesda's next RPG a lot though... Fallout 3 | |

Posted: 4/8/2008 12:11:02 AM | I was a big Halo 2 fan, so Halo 3 was the first game I picked up after getting a 360. I loved it, but now...I don't know. I'll have some friends over and we'll sit down and play every now and then, but it sort of lost a bit of its charm. CoD4 is totally amazing though; totally love it. I think it might be the first game where for me, sniping actually went WELL. *laughs*
I have to make a case for Oblivion though. Its been around a while, but I love starting up a character and building them from the ground up, but only based around a few select skills, instead of power gaming EVERYTHING up to the max. I've had tons of fun just wandering around discovering things in that game. | |

Halo 3 is alright but the ranking system is messed up. I don't like how you can lose rank just because the rest of your team was slacking. COD4 online is great online, haven't had a chance to play solo yet, will do that more in the summer time. A lot of good games are coming out for xbox 360 in the future, GTA, Fallout, and Fable (I'am really looking forward to playing that..loved the first one!) Posted: 4/27/2008 1:08:16 PM | I dunno, Mass Effect kinda disappointed me.....I mean, it was cool and all, but its like the game fought kicking and screaming to get you into the action, while the text kept going on and on and on- I played it completionist(wouldn't touch the story till everything else was done), and now......I got nothing to come back to. If I want to play again, little will change, and I got about 10 hours to get through the first(what am I saying? ONLY) city in the game, unless I want to abandon 25% of the game....
In KOTOR, the characters would interact with each other- they'd comment on the world and fight with each other- in this game, they won't speak to each other unless you're in an elevator.....its annoying....
And they hint at a far vaster universe than they let you play- we hear about the armada of the people who made the geth- never see it- we hear about the big guy's homeworld, and its tribal infighting- never see it- we hear about how half the universe is run by pirates and warlords- and yet, with a ship that is literally invisible, we only slip into it for a single planet because we're afraid they'd attack!
My friend played the game and missed the boss fight because he convicted the end guy to shoot himself in the skull- needless to say, he was annoyed.
I mean, there was so many shortcomings for that game- only 1 landable planet per system, and the rest is reading text? Wooo- what fun! Sometimes, the "planet" was literally 6 rooms in length- it took longer to load than it did to explore!
And the characters stories never seem really all that realized or epic- Joker has NO STORY, The cop's story is hunting down a body part dealer, the armada chick, to my memory, has NO STORY.
And when you do play the story, it's way too short- what was it? 4 planets is the main story? If it wasn't for so much tedious backtracking and text, the game would be over in 5 hours
Thats not to say I didn't have fun with that game. Its just.....I'm done with it now, and have no intention of slowly walking through that damn city again | |

Posted: 4/28/2008 4:38:06 AM | I've been playing COD4 loads recently again but purely to past time while i wait for GTA4, i think the single player campaign of COD4 is stunning although dam dam hard on Veteran difficulty, got all the way through it eventualy but could'nt do the final little airplane level on veteran, although theres alot of game types and is very solid i find the multiplayer pretty frustrating at times and i just hate the random grenade tossing that goes on way too much, when i used to play Rainbow Six on the original Xbox we would have grenades turned off for that reason and i really hate watching the kill cam of the guy who just killed me to see that he was just spraying wildly in my general direction, also the airstrikes and helicopters are the worst thing to have ever been put in an FPS where is the satisfaction or point in one side getting a helicopter to fly around and just destroy the other team for you without doing anything  , allways found Halo 2-3 to be way more about skill and not just blind luck but thats just me, i still get a whooping these days on Halo and theres far too many mouthy idiots on both games.
Did'nt bother with R6 Vegas 2 since i had R6V1 and was'nt going to buy the same game again plus did'nt think too much of the first one anyway, really wana play through Condenmed 2 and Viking but put off getting them as like i said i just want GTA4 and know when i get it tmw it will be all i'll play, had the first condenmed on X360 launch and thought it was brilliant so really wana play Criminal Origins.
Mass Effect has been sitting on my shelf for ages now but just never been in the mood to stick it on, will do at some point though, also been playing abit of Burnout Paradise online which is a laugh although its a nightmare trying to get some people to do the challenges in a full room, watching 8 strangers try a challenge that involves 7 of you parking next to a jump while the 8th person jumps you all is highly amusing, everyone wants to be the person who does the jump and its usualy 2 or 3 cars parked while the rest just jump back and fourth with no realisation that they will be doing so allday unless were all parked under the ramp bar the one car doing the jump, just like being back on Battlefield watching all the non team players run around shouting "thats my tank" or killing you because you was gona get the chopper they wanted
Played the beta for Battlefield Bad Company round my friends house and just think its awesome, that'll be my online game time set for the year when it comes out, played Modern Combat to death and just think bad company was so impressive, as allways the map are massive the vehicles are brilliant and the new destructable enviroments are just insane, once i got the hang of it all again i was having a right laugh blowing house's apart while guys are trying to hide in it then picking em off easily once their exposed, was gobsmacked though when i was minding my own business only to here a tank coming, tried to run away and hide behind a house only for the tank to come smashing through the house then tear the village apart as it smashed through the corner of a few more house's and destroyed the fences and everything while im running like mad, one of the most impressive things i've seen in a game in while, its going to be mega  | |

I loved palying halo3, but i can understand what you all mean.. it does get a little annoying now. ITs just a pisstake when compared to COD4.
