Here it is ladies, a few tips that we men would like to pass along:

1. Don’t post pictures of yourself with your previous boyfriends groping you.

Its a turn off and its common sense. We don’t want to know who you slept with last week. Figure it out.

2. Listing your body type as "average" means you are "average".

It does not mean you are obese but want to be average. You're not fooling us, especially when you post pictures of yourself with your previous boyfriends. We can see that you're "a few extra pounds" and that you're lying about it. Please disclose this properly.

3. Kickboxing is for men.

If you are a women and trying to pick up a man, listing kickboxing as one of your interests isn’t going to work. Its not a turn on even though everyone and their dog claims to be a kick boxer these days. Take up cooking instead.

4. Don’t own 7 dogs.

Speaking of dogs, owning them is not helping your case. We men do not want to walk your dogs on a first date. Picking up poop in a zip lock bag is not a good idea for a first date. And by the way, you smell like your dogs too. Bad idea all around.

5. We don’t want to see pictures of your lower back tattoo.

Its unoriginal and its already starting to droop. Every bar star has one. If we wanted a woman with tattoos all over her we'd speed date during visiting hours at the local women’s correctional facility. If you have one, don’t put it on your profile.

6. We don’t want to make you laugh!

Didn’t you notice that the last 7000 profiles are all asking for a man who can make her laugh? Who do you think we are, comedians? You don’t see us listing things like vacuuming and being obedient do you? No! That’s because we're realistic not idealistic. We're not looking at your profile as a potential person to review our jokes. We want to have sex with you. That doesn’t involve reviewing comedic material.

7. Getting multiple messages does not make you attractive.

Listen ladies, we need to fill you in on how this whole thing works. We open maybe 50 profiles a night. We don’t read them. We barely look at your picture. What we see is a female and way to attempt to contact her. Thus, when we look at 50 profiles we send 50 messages. Just because you're getting a bunch of messages, don’t think you've turned into an 8 from a 5. You're still a 5. We're just horny.

8. If you don’t have a full set of teeth, please disclose this on your profile!

We don’t want to discover this AFTER initiating contact with you. Jaws was a good movie, but none of us want to live it. Visit the dentist before you date online!

9. Look, if you're looking for Mr. Perfect why the *#&$ are you on a free dating website?

We're not perfect. Try your local church if you're looking for Mr. goodie two shoes. We only messaged you because you were one of the 50 profiles we quickly scanned over while sitting on the can using our wireless Internet.

10. Admit to yourself why you are online.

We don’t want to read all the excuses about why you are trying online dating. It’s ok to be a loser. Cut the crap and come to terms with yourself. You're not a 10. You're a 6 and you need the Internet to help you get a date. We never said we were any better.

LOL

What he said ^^^ HEY I didn't say it, I just laughed and pointed!

11. Lose the ladder when taking your pictures.

We may be tall but if the best angle to see you from is 5 ft above your head, we are hooped or we will be forced to wear Kiss boots and spit blood all night to pull off the look.

excuse me AVERAGE? ummmmm WTF r u trying to kid? ahhh heck NO! i'm NOT average my body type is average for my age and yes I'm 46 years old and proud of it.
20 years ago my body type was average then too for my age group.
10 things women need to know...... umm maybe from ur own standards according to ur age group.
Y am I on a dating site ? cuz i can't be bothered to go pick up a guy in the bar, sit there and get dolled up when he's already got a chick waiting for him @ home, and I'm past all that scene I did 25 years ago.
Not interested in getting polluted to my gills thanks and don't forget I work in addictions and don't need to sit there babysitting pple cuz if i was to do that I would rather get paid for it!

This thread is called "A Must Read Guide For Online Dating In Vancouver" but so far it only contains the male perspective on dating. To keep this thread fair, we need to post a similar list from a female perspective. Any volunteers willing to take on this task?

Btw, I find going for a walk with a man & his dog makes for a wonderful first date. Picking up doggie poop is a fact of life ... as long as he doesn't insist I pick it up & as long as he washes his hands after picking it up before he holds my hand or strokes my face.

samadongshi2: I've seen a lot of emoticons & spews posted in your threads this week. Having a PMS week perhaps? That's ok ... I bit off a few heads during my last PMS week too. It's one of those privileges we are allowed to get away with as women. Men just have to understand & tolerate it if they want our company during our more positive times when we are sweet & polite (& give BJs), when we are loving & affectionate (& give BJs), when we serve him romantic candlelit dinners (& give BJs) & give him backrubs & massages (& give BJs).

#14? Believe everything you read on the internet. It must be true. This includes our profiles, we really do love long walks on the beach and Sunday afternoons with your family.

I had a great laugh at this, only because it is partially true.. Ok, mostly.

This suggests you prefer women to have a full set of teeth.

There are some advantages to removable dentures. . . especially on March 14th.

This thread is called "A Must Read Guide For Online Dating In Vancouver" but so far it only contains the male perspective on dating. To keep this thread fair, we need to post a similar list from a female perspective.

THAT would be great,,,,and maybe the majority of the females could actually AGREE on the list before it's posted??????? Yeah,,,,,,like THAT would happen right girls????

I forget which radio station it's on,,,,but every Friday morn about 8 a.m. (?????) this station has some "couples" or "dating" expert on and he gives helpful(?????) hints on how to go about and find a match for yourself,,,,,,real world and internet dating. One of his comments on " a lot " of women in Vancouver when it comes to dating still makes me laugh out loud whenever it comes to mind. He compared single women in Vancouver as " a bunch of neutered nuns". His words,,,,,not mine. And remember,,,,he's the expert.

Frig,,,,I'm laughing again.

First date - walk with the dog? Sounds good to me. Laughing is not required - just a nice stroll and chat.
Men, consider this:
Some women do kick boxing to loose weight - which means they can then post "average to slim" photos of themselves.

Isn't a neutered Nun a good thing?
She's not gonna have your baby and she hasn't been around

Only if she doesn't have any plans to elope with any priests. That's what happened at two of my Catholic schools.

If you read Chad's profile you will see that he is looking for a Long Term relationship....so the question I have is....................if this is a free dating site as he points out to us...and therefore you get what you pay for...etc...and there is no way you are not going to find the Perfect One, based on the site being free.

okay now I am confused here Chad Babe, can I call you Babe, Babe?.... so...what are you looking for?... a Long Term miserable relationship in which you 'settled' cos there is no Perfect One here on this free site?...

please clarify for us Babe.

and yes, I do walk the seawall every day.... the West Van wall...and I do prefer to walk alone....and my dog died 6 months ago...but no matter cos No Dogs Allowed on the wall....nor bikes...trikes....rollerblades...smoking....breathing heavily....pple with bad breath or bad acne are banned too.
You are allowed to wear silly Tilley hats and matching track suits though!

Rose daaarlin, too funny
you just can't call da kid 'Babe'
heck girrrll, sounds you're showing the cougar claws
I mean I understand you havin a crush on him 'n all, cuz there just aren't many people who understand politics as clearly as he does at his wonderful puppy age (as in wish I still was lol) and he is forthrightly honest here as well, seems he's having gained some deep inside perspectives to share.
I think what he is not telling us here that he uses this site for gathering facts as evidence about mature female conduct and expectations for a dissertation he is working on
Looks like it's working what wonderful reading

addendum: I'll keep an eye out for you on the seawall and I promise if I see you dragging da'babe' along I won't tell

Hey Folks,

Glad to see that I could give some humour to everyone's day. My dissertation is nearly complete

It is simply a collection of generally true observations about this site and the profiles of most of the women that I've contacted (or often thankfully not) with some doses of humour added for good measure!

I'm surpised the fine POF ladies are so put off by this. Most women want honesty, well so do I. All I'm asking in the rant is that you are true to your appearance (I'm not a muscle bound body bulder and I don't pretend to be...can't afford the steriods), don't be thinking that you're so great because you receive 50 messages a day (most of which are likely ignored because of the same superficial reasons that you are criticizing me for), and that most men are here because they eventually want to sleep with you (*gasp* no really!)

But ladies keep in mind that I'm not on my high horse either. You'll notice on #9 and 10 that I've said that I'm "not perfect" and I never said I was any better than a 6 either

At least I gave a true guide to how I think.....sorry if the truth hurts haha.

Oh and Rose I am looking long term, but as I've addressed above I didn't say I was a perfect 10 either. I mean c'mon, if I didn't say that it would make me a bit of a hypocrite wouldn't it.
