Prawn C o c k tail;
or prawns in mayo with honeydew melon;
or prawns in marie rose sauce on avocado.
Sorry all, really love prawns.
Guests who were adults during the 70s/80s will love these. Those born after that wont know how old these appetizers are and will think they are height of zeitgeist.
Be sure to serve black forest gateaux as a desert!

A few pounds of small white and brown mushroom caps - just snap the stems off and save stems for later. Add mushroom stems to processor with a can of salmon, salt & pepper, a splash of vinegar. Process until smooth. Grain excess water and add some seasoned bread crumbs to absorb the rest of the liquids. Fold in a can or two (fresh if you have it) of crab meat.
By teaspoons- fill the mushroom caps (or use a piping bag) and garnish with a bit of paprika over.
Other fillings: Pate, Egg (like for deviled eggs), cheese spread.

here is a very cool quick easy delicious dessert. Get a mini muffin pan and make plain old brownies.
BUT, when you fill the muffin wells, before you put the pan in the oven. Place a single Chocolate Kiss in the center till it's covered. You can use any type of KISS. Mint Chocolate, White Chocolate, what ever.
Makes the little brownie extra chocolaty, and DELICIOUS.
Trust me it's amazing, quick and so so so easy.

at Costco !
why spend time all day in the oven
When Costco or Sams Club , or BJ's has great appetizers you can serve on a nice plastic platter, have a lovely wedding and God bless you!

| Nice appetizer recipes for a Casual Wedding Posted: 4/25/2008 10:29:03 AM | Find some baby purple potatoes and roast them. Slice off the top, scoop out meat with a melon baller. Make mashed potatoes out of them. Pipe the mashed potatoes back into the skins.
Refrigerate them and reheat when needed.
You can freeze them too. Just make sure that until they're all the way frozen, that you keep them standing up on a tray before putting them in a ziploc.
Sometimes, it helps to slice a tiny bit off the bottom so they stand straight.

| Nice appetizer recipes for a Casual Wedding Posted: 4/25/2008 8:05:35 PM | Ham rolls would be lovely and delcious. used those at my niece's wedding and was a big sucess Lg package of sliced sandwich ham (Primrose brand) cream cheese (room tempature) midget sweet pickles (opt) cut ham slices in half spread cream cheese over each slice of ham roll up with or without pickle and cut into one inch rolls
We make these using Budwig brand beef. It's very thin and you can find it with the lunchmeats. It's about .70 cents for a package of 10 which you'll cut in half so you'll have 20. Always been a huge hit no matter where I take them and we've used this recipe since I was a kid.
Pkg of Budwig beef deli meat 1 pkg cream cheese about half a jar of sweet pickle relish, drained
Mix cream cheese and relish together. Spread thin layer width wise across lunchmeat and roll. cut each roll in half.

| Nice appetizer recipes for a Casual Wedding Posted: 5/10/2008 7:11:53 PM | Are you preparing everything yourself... or just need ideas for other people to prepare for you?
Mini Quiches - you can make a few different kinds... Salmon Dill, Mushroom & cheese, whatever tickles your fancy.
Fruit & Dip - Any type of fruit cut up, and for the dip, use a simple plain yoghurt... take food colouring, place 2 drops of 2 differnt colours at the opposite sides of the bowl, use a tooth pick & drag the colour across... very VERY easy... but looks pretty.
I helped a girlfriend prepare for a party, and I made the appetizers... toppable crackers, take soft spreadable cream cheese, mix some cheeze whiz with it, and put it into a cake icing tube... place some cheese onto the crakers, and top with sliced ham, a slice of cherry tomato, a celery curl etc.... they are very easy to make... but you will get some great compliments... as they look super hard to create!

| Nice appetizer recipes for a Casual Wedding Posted: 5/12/2008 12:54:21 PM | Water chest nuts wrapped in bacon
Marinade: 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. brown sugar 3/4 c. catsup 1 tsp. lemon juice 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce:
A variation on the above marinade would be using soya sauce, brown sugar and Ketchup. I'm not exactly sure how much of each I just go by taste.
Another alternative would be using scallops instead of water chest nuts. The water chestnuts are simply to make it a little more cost effective, and I personally love them more, but if your family is into seafood it could be nice. The formal name for this recipe is "Rumaki".
Good luck! | |
