A comment was made to be during a chat that stunned me, the goof on the other end said that "wacking off is cheaper than dating and he does not think paying for dinner is the responsibility of the man." DELETED then I looked back at all the profiles I have on my list. And I thought about it. Ah I see well lets break it down for you sweetie, you want sex and your so hot for me, O.K. so don't buy my coffee save the $1.50, but now I just spent close to $250.00 just to meet with you. New blouse $55.00, Jewelery, $30.00, Tanning $12.00, new panties and bra, $85.00, trim hair cut $28.00 plus my time..shower/shave /wash /iron clothes ,and for some of us a babysitter, and the gas to get to your side of town. Now during the chats I assumed we were hitting it off and it was getting hot. You are a talker, but then stay home with your wife,or your hand. Because I just had a $250 dollar evening without you. I know some escorts only charge $150. All you did was a clean shirt, shower and complain! | |

seriously, i dont get why any woman would pay close to $250 to meet a guy (unless they were Ivana)
meeting a new guy does not require new clothes, jewellery, tanning, new bra & panties, etc.
do you really think hes going to know thats a new blouse versus any other pretty one in your closet - no - so whats the point of "having" to buy one
bottom line, i would hope your everyday wardrobe would be sufficient and that you wouldn't be required to buy anything
besides, isnt it better to be accepted for who you are instead of trying to impress with all new stuff? | |

I am a jeans kind of gal myself, and I buy clothes for myself, never for the man. I also buy my own coffee for the first meet, unless they get there before me and buy it. When it comes to a dinner date, if I ask him - I pay; if he asks m, he pays. Keeps it simple. If it is an ongoing relationship, I try to keep it 50/50. | |

I do not buy anything new--my wardrobe I buy for me when I need clothes. Haircuts when it is needed. French manicure/pedicure occasionally. Gas...local no big deal. I shower daily. Do my hair nice. Wear clean clothes. Put on make-up like I normally do...smile...and enjoy the date.

Anyway he was pulling pins out of his shirt all night and I actually leaned over and pulled the paper collar lining out for him.

I think its a great gesture and even though not necessary in our day in age I think it shows huge respect and class. For a first meet -notice I didn't put "date" - I wear what I normally wear because I want the lady to have a good idea of what and who I am before proceeding. One bad mistake I did make was going out-of-province to meet a lady when I had a bad case of the flu. Reservations has been made, etc. Bad decision.
Simply put, if the real you will put off a relationship, isn't it better to know right up front? It's not that either of you are right or wrong or good or bad. Certain foods that are very tasty y themselves should not be combined. It's just that things don't work out. That happens. Continue swimming. | |

if a woman has to go to this length to think that they can impress me they fail horribly at life but if that's what works for most then keep on doing it. . . mind you I thought impressing someone with wit, intellect, and charm was the way to go

But... this was money being spent in preparation of a first date and not as just a special "pamper me moment". The way it was presented to us was that it was money that was an expense of meeting people. To spend that type of money and then imply "I did it for you (instead of myself) is counteractive to pampering yourself.
Its just honestly, do any of us make a regular habit out of spending that kind of cash on a bra & panties?
