However I have learned over the past 8 years that Republicans and more specifically conservatives have failed to learn the lessons of history, and are still in denial of the complete failure of they're viewpoint even in the face of so many of them finally saying... ummm we screwed up. | |

He was almost president in waiting with his brother therefore had the experience ie; Cuban missile crisis ,Civil Rights etc .More hands on and idealistic than John Kennedy .............. tougher and willing to tackle the meanest people in a straight forward manner.John Kennedy seems to be more diplomatic .Highly educated ,street smart and savvy .
If you had Robert Kennedy .......America would be a kinder more caring America.The stuff of dreams but in vivid real time....lol .Younger more vibrant and much much more respected America . Not to mention classy.The Kennedys had class like no other family or politicians .(sorry....seems to have bypassed old Ed...lol)
The Kennedys are the face of America with class ,style and credibility .

I am more of an action guy Ironically Jefferson would not have been a Jeffersonian Conservative. Its a failing in the education system if I were generous that leads to the mistaken belief that Jefferson really trusted a Free Enterprise more then government he didn't.
All of which really is better discussed elsewhere, the point here is that no I have read your posts, you clearly didn't read mine. If you hate all government then your ultimately a fool. As for my comment that your obviously a conservative it was more an issue of ironic humor then fear in my case. I having read your posts knew what you were, you however blindly threw out a label see the difference.
Perhaps this example of ironic humor will better aid you...
A man is in a hot air balloon that flies away before the pilot gets in, he's finally figured out how to control it generally but is lost. He sees a man in a field and manages to lower the balloon into earshot. "Hey you down there where am I?"
The man replies "approximately 35ft above this field"
The ballooner frustrated says "I bet you're an engineer"
The man replies "hey thats pretty good how'd you guess"
The ballooner says "because I ask you a simple question and you give me a specific and acurate answer thats completely useless."
The engineer replies "ahh I bet you're a manager"
The Manager replies "hey your pretty good how did you guess"

On this I agree. An extraordinarily wise man who realized how limited power is and how carefully it must be used. However he had no trouble shutting down newspapers when it suited him. And he kept slaves. So he's hardly perfect.
2. Steven Hawking
Disagree. He may be a brilliant physicist, and I admire the strength with which he faces his illness. But that doesn't mean he is suited for a position of public responsibility.
3. Ron Paul
Disagree. He thinks government is evil by nature.
Government is just a tool, there is no ethics attached to government anymore than there is to a shovel. I can use a shovel to dig a garden or to kill another human being. Neither is the shovel's fault.
A man who regards something as evil and then seeks to use it isn't a man I can trust to use it wisely.

For three out of the four, they represent the road cut short.  In the case of at least two of those men, and possibly all three, I have strong feelings that that road was cut short due the the powers they came up against, ones that saw them as a threat.
One of the saddest things about dying before your time is that your life ends in a question mark. No one will ever know how things could have been had they been allowed to live.
In my view, I think America would have been a much better nation, a much greater nation, had all three men survived the Sixties. That path not taken set America's course for the future in a way that allowed for the seeds of their idealism to fall on infertile ground and never germinate.
From someone who remembers those men, and those times, I can say we once lived in a time of giants. Now, for the most part, their replacements have been pygmies. | |

My father has been into public/diplomatic service for a long time now and well remembers those heady days so I grew up on knowing his feelings on events , great people and moments in history . His view and the most common view over here is :
the Kennedys had an obvious greatness and dedication to the country and the welfare of the people as well as determination to project a strong ,fair and resolute national image abroad ........ and its not due to their lives been cut short . Both very articulate leaders ,speakers and statesmen despite being much younger than the normal politician. Old Joe Kennedy had many faults but he groomed and educated both these Kennedys for public service and for America .Their social network ensured that they could meet and communicate with the great leaders of the day. They had a higher standard to aspire to .
Everything went downhill since then. From giants amongest men to mice..lol
Funny if it wasn't so sad. From glory to bling .
MLK was a great speaker and a world renouned peacemaker . A civic leader rather than capable of being a national political leader .But he would certainly do a better job than the rabble offered up since then and particularly now.
You know Kennedy said.....ask not what your country can do for you.........but what you can do for your country ? The ones that followed always asked the America to do for them (rich,famous ,fawn at my feet )..................lol.............and thats why all you can choose from is 3 mice and a culture of bling and shallow greed. | |

Vote for him and watch what happens to this country. We're heading right for a Depression, not Recession.... Women and children will be standing in soup lines just to eat, crime will raise more then it is now, more people then ever will be homeless (and one of those people could be you)!!!!! These are things that the people of the this country need to start thinking about. It's time for a change and everyone needs to get out and vote. Even if you don't like any of the canidates, vote for the lesser of the two evils. Hillary has more experience then anyone. When Bill was in office for 8 yrs., the economy was booming, people had work, the car makers were making money and the blue collar workers in this country were not losing their jobs ( left and right) and no one was on strike. We need our contry back!!!! We need to bring the Troops home!!!! I DO NOT SUPPORT THIS WAR, BUT I DO SUPPORT OUR TROOPS. My Dad is a Vietnam Veteran. He's a very sick man due to Agent Orange, oh and by the way, he has a Purple Heart, because a bomb blew up in back of him. He has heart problems and Diabetes due to Agent Orange and yes, his illnesses are linked to this wonderful chemical. And their doing the same thing to our tropps over in Iraq. These men and women who come home can not get the proper treatment from our goverment... isn't that ironic... they fight for our country and get treatment for the illnesses they have from being over in IRAQ!!!!! Watch Michael Moore's movie " SICKO" and "911"... then come back here and post a forum and I can guarantee your a opinion will change. But until then, get your facts right before you post such statements that make no sense!!!!!!!!!! You need  when it comes to what is going on in this country!!!!!!! | |
