This country needs to focus on creating a well defined, tightly knit American community. For the most part that does not exist, this is really not the United States of America, it is more like the United States of divided communities. The enemy is already within, the L.A. riots, where Americans ran out into the streets and started killing other Americans. Several shopping malls and universities, where dormant enemies blew up and started to kill other Americans. American school kids shooting other American school kids.

This is a huge problem, which could possibly one day become America’s biggest problem. The United States could turn into another Roman Empire, where the allies of the Roman waited until the empire weaken. Then, their allies became the empires enemies. You even see this effect of segregated communities in America’s prisons. And, that is exactly where the terrorist (the real enemy) does most of their recruiting. After all, that is what an enemy is, a criminal.

For the most part, well-defined American life has disappeared. It has been replaced by sub and counter cultures, bizarre people with some very bizarre life-styles. This country has to clearly define what American morals and values are. There has to be a strong American pride that exist year around, not just on parades during Veteran’s Day. United we stand, divided we fall, this country needs to find a way of bringing people together. Instead of isolating them and creating more enemies from within. If America were to ever face a real threat on American soil, the fabric of this country might tear as easily as a sheet of paper. This nation has to turn into an American team, not a team of individuals. Whatever happened to American pride and the American spirit?

Worst-case scenarios are happening more and more on a regular basis, like 911. However, there are many more worst-case scenarios that happen almost on a daily or weekly basis. A campaign of education should be started to teach people how to be good Americans. This would lower the crime rate and strengthen the country as a whole. There should not be many communities of different people in this country. There should be one community of Americans in this nation. In order for this to happen, and it will probably take years, American citizens and residents have to change their mindset. Thoughts control emotions, and emotions control actions. Therefore, a movement of positive thought and knowledge should be started. In order for that to ever happen, there has to be a strong motivation, whatever that maybe has yet to be determined.

North America is already falling, both the U.S. and Canada. Basic human courtesy is dead, for the most part. Wars are being waged over greed (see: The U.S. trying to democratize Iraq, so we can steal the oil under their land). The only great thing remaining is the military power. Without that, we'd probably be dead.

A sense of patriotism or national pride does not constitute what you are implying. If anything it was a well written post about a topic the OP is obviously passionate about. One of the major problems in this country is that nearly every time someone has the courage to say something with conviction a heckler like yourself has to speak up and try to invalidate with an ad hominem attack. It is kinda pathetic really.

United is past tense. Freedoms enemy knows that the easiest way to conquer is to divide from within. A nation divided can not stand - now we witness the falling of America as the dollar is intentionally destroyed and we the people become more and more Subjects of what is supposed to be a servant government. Any one who questions this has not accepted reality. COP's (constables of peace) are now LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS - and just how comfortable does anyone feel when being followed by one of these - why is the first reaction to step on the brakes? How does a mother feel knowing CPS has more authority over her own flesh and blood than she does? We are not free. We for the most part are Subjects of a defacto government - not for, of, or by the people. The real threat is already within and operating freely on a daily basis.

It's going to take a revolution of biblical proportion to turn this nation of backsliders back... thats how I see it.

OP--

That was a EXCELLANT POST.

But I have to say that I blame my own generation most of all. So many of us Baby Boomers suffered some hard times growing up that we wanted to give our kids EVERYTHING that we felt we missed out on.

PLEASE DON'T TAKE THIS AS APPLICABLE TO EVERYBODY -- BUT THERE IS A LOT OF THIS GOING AROUND:

Prior to my generation we lived in a time when ALL the members of the family existed for the home. But we "raised" the first generation of kids around whom the entire family revolved.

As for our own selves, we are the ones who lost the sense of committment to our marriages. Divorce became epidemic as we tossed our mates aside like old shoes. (Or abused them till they dumped us!) We didn't even wait for our kids to be out of the house so it could be "our time".

Boomers a little older than myself were the first of the "hippies" --- Tune in, turn on, and drop out. Before I hit high school, addiction was a common problem. By the time I was in college it wasn't uncommon to go home and see your old high school buddies lying in the gutter. Even for those who came from the best schools and neighborhoods.

We spoiled our kids, taught them how to be selfish by example, and then were surprised at their "failure to launch".

Now we have a generation of folks who don't know right from wrong trying to teach their children right from wrong.

We teach our kids the facts on life on prime time TV before they are 6, let them have criminals for role models, dress like Brittany Spears, and wonder why pediphelia is rampant as pre-teens go whoring on the internet. So many of our kids are lost and confused, that of course they act out.

They hurt so bad they have to cut themselves or play breath holding, and strangulation games to feel better.

We think we don't need God anymore, but when we don't have any common moral values, there is no right from wrong.

Almost Everybody is about ME, ME, ME! Wanting to have it all RIGHT NOW! Runing up our debt, feeling so "entiteled". And suing everybody who gets in our way.

Political correctness has run amok -- the "blame game" is played with abandon.

The Bible prophecies promise us that "there'll be a time when that which is right will be called wrong -- and that which is evil will be called right." I know many of us have other religions --- or not -- where the Bible is not taught. But, hey -- the shoe fits at this particular time. That's really what's going on.

That shoe fits when we're afraid to discipline our children, and find excuses for not disciplining ourselves. (Everyone' doing it!)

Of course our country is in dissarray -- and everyting's likely to get worse -- If we don't ALL start the practice of PERSONAL ACCOUNTABILITY.

Thanks.

Well said. People have been warning the American people for years what was going to happen and they were laugh at or called radical or worst. You say anything about all the millions of illegal aliens collecting billions in welfare or even now collecting SS you must be a racists. Slowly one block at a time many towns in the South West are being taking over by illegal aliens. Close the borders and the Gang Green morons say no the fence will interfere with the 3 toe prairie rat or some other make believe Disneyland invention call the Endangered Species. Drill for oil in Alaska nope can't do that because maybe one caribou will die even thought the same scare tactic was used on the original pipeline and the caribou herd increased.

There is one way to save America and that is real leadership. Run the illegal aliens out of America and built a fence. Close all American bases and bring all the troops home. Build new base along the border and patrol it. All the money from the serviceman and business would be a big booming economy. If we pull in our troops in 10 years we could pay off the debt and the dollar would be strong again. If we toss out all the illegal and saved SS and welfare we would have a surplus.

There is no energy shortage there is plenty of oil. But just in case build the coal to oil conversion plants so we have gas for the next 200 years. Ever notice how groups like Greenpeace collect millions every year for 30 years and have never once help with a new solar panel or help to import cars that get 60-120 mpg that are already made. You don't want gas cars then demand electric cars. There is plenty of real solution in the world. What is lacking is a common goal America first fix everything wrong here then worry about the world.

You want to fix America it takes real people to tell the whiners shut up we tried your socialist dream and it is ruining this country. Time for everyone to work together for America First.

And that's at the end of a half page of whining?

This is just a variation on a theme that's been playing since your country was founded (and mine too for that matter). Look at the movie The Gangs of New York: this sort of griping and whining has been the fodder of those who can't look at themselves in the mirror.

Yeah, the issues are different, but the sentiment is the same. Oh yeah, and Greenpeace is the problem. Look around you. Do you really think Greenpeace has caused the crisis you find yourself in?

There's a book by Larry Bond with that title.

http://www.amazon.com/Enemy-Within-Larry-Bond/dp/0747253447/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1208999669&sr=8-7

Basically Mr. Bond thought about Sun Tzu's dictum, "So it is that an army attacks weakness and avoids strength." And Mr. Bond knows where America is weak.

America is a deeply divided nation. Too many on all points of the political spectrum quite pointedly refuse to grant the status of 'American' to those who disagree with them.

A nation divided against itself cannot stand, as Mr. Lincoln put it.

great topic, op.

the self-reliance that originally defined our nation has morphed into self-centeredness. we have too many people obsessed with obtaining as much as they can for themselves. everyone wants the most they can get while expending the least.

we need to move the focus from the omnipotence of the individual to the strength of the community as a whole. when we have strong communities, we can work on rebuilding the sense of unity within the nation.

i see too many people begging for attention for their mediocre accomplishments. why not take everyone's resourcefulness and refocus it to elevate those around us? if we work on empowering others, we can empower an entire society, one community at a time.

If you truly wanted to stop the violence, you would support CONCEAL/ CARRY. The bad people in society would think twice if they knew any unreasonable action on their part, would be meet with a fairly permanent solution from the rest of us.

Most rioters were never nice in the first place, especially with hate-mongers like the Rev. Jeremiah Wright (a man of god???????) spewing forth their hate speech.

A nation divided against itself cannot stand, as Mr. Lincoln put it. - Romantic Heretic

> I take it you mean Abraham Lincoln, a former President of the United States?
> On September 18, 1858 in Charleston, Illinois, Abraham Lincoln told a cheering audience, 'I'll say then, that I am not now, nor ever have been in favour of bringing about, in any way, the social and political equality of the White and Black races ... nor of making voters or jurors of them or qualifying them to hold office, nor to have them intermarry with White people ... I will say, in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the White and Black races which I believe will forever forbid the two from living together on terms of social and political equality. And inasmuch as they do remain together there must be the position of superior and inferior and I as much as any White man am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the White race.' Also, On December 31, 1862, Lincoln became the nation's only President to sign a contract, on behalf of the United States of America to deport 450 American-born citizens of African descent to an island off the coast of Haiti.
> A highly popular President, was Mr Lincoln.

I gave real solution to real problems and you call it whining? LOL

Oh yes Greenpeace has done such are great job at collecting money from gullible people. Every heard of the Documentary called Crack in the Rainbow. It was banned from import to the USA. Too bad because it investigated into the millions of dollars missing from Green peace and who's bank account it end up in.

Do a search on Patrick Moore one of the founder fathers of Green peace and how he is exposing them today because they have been taken over by far left wing extremist. I love exposing the truth. Greenpeace has not done anything in the last 30 years to help America.

Time to take care of America first we don't have the money to play games or make mistakes right now. Start logging back in America creates jobs put money in the local ecomony, drill for oil same thing, bring the troops home from 140 countries same thing, etc ,etc. This is real solutions. Or keep listening to the yahoo that got us in the mess to begin with.

We think we don't need God anymore, but when we don't have any common moral values, there is no right from wrong. - TradurGurl

> I applaud your entire post, my dear, and quote only a portion to identify it.
> Here in New Zealand, where I am unfortunate enough to live, a country they call Godzone - don't ask me why - the Socialist Dream has all but destroyed the structure of this country. New Zealand is known as the experimental country of the world. Try it there first, and if it works - it will work anywhere.
> I saw on television tonight that a child murderer, one of the indigenous peoples, as they call themselves, has been let out of prison after only six years. He will now be "heavily supervised" (at an enormous cost to the NZ taxpayer).
> Our government - that ragbag mixture of Socialist dreamers and bleeding-heart liberals, who fawn over Charles Manson types and can't wait to liberate these 'stars' into society - have long since thrown God out the window - from the top floor. He landed on Parliament Square without so much as an ouch. No one saw it. No one heard anything. No one objected. Why? Because, as with most Marxist types, the 'changes' are done slowly and surreptitiously, so slowly you hardly notice them. This ragbag government, led by the much-hated Helen Clark, who doesn't give a fig what anyone else thinks, has just flown to China - that's right, folks, China - to sign a free trade deal with New Zealand. This will mean an open-door policy now. We can expect our jobs to simply evaporate without much struggle. At least beforehand we had hope; now that hope is gone - East. Helen Clark, the 'dreamer', the individual who is quasi-green, who wants to save the whales and the dolphins and the pink-bellied, lesser-horned East African beetle, etc., signs a deal with China - a country with one of the worst records of human rights violations in the world, a country that screams the fact that they have no intention of reducing their carbon emissions, whatever threats they receive from any other country. And here is New Zealand, a nation whose emissions are so minuscule, yet we have one of the highest carbon taxes in the world. Thanks, Helen. Can we vote for you next time, please? We hear you have even MORE taxes ready and waiting for us, and we just can't wait to find out what they are. We love your idea of democracy, Helen. We love watching our hard-won rights swirling down the toilet.
> The New Zealand government used to pray before every sitting. Can you imagine that? And people used to swear on the Bible in Court. They don't do that any more. Maybe the tiny minority do, but the vast majority simply put their tongue in their cheek and promise to tell the truth - as they see it.
> Oh yes, God was thrown out with the bath water a long time ago in this country, this country with one of the highest rates of violent crime in the world. As a former journalist, I could give you a sad list of #1s that New Zealand has, and they are not music to the ears.
> Meanwhile, the deterioration continues. Old ladies get raped in the streets by ever-younger men; police get shot in the face by vicious roaming gangs; and our government - our tiny minority government - crank out laws that prevent us from raising our children as we see fit. A father was whisked off to jail recently for spanking his son once on the bottom after he admitted he hadn't been attending school for weeks. Off to jail - and do not pass Go. That's Godzone for you. That's New Zealand.
> What a laugh. I'd rather live in a shack in the back woods of the Panama Canal Zone!

prOx, sorry buddy but it sounds like Mein Kampf to me. Seductive on the surface, like Jews being the cause of all the problems, but the reality of such a nationalist agenda turns out to be pretty ugly.

I like diversity, different viewpoints, freedom to not have to wave the old flag if I dont want to, not being persecuted by some rabid "patriot", doing my own thing, different lifestyles, the big blend and the big melting pot.

I really dont like seeing a lot of people lock-stepping behind a flag..... reminds me of the Nazis and master race fantasies.

So why do you hate America? Why aren't you with us?

The above statements were just a joke, but it does seem to be the mindset of so many who view any dissent as unpatriotic. And their version of dissent is anyone who doesn't believe what they do.

I vividly recall before 9/11 people accused me of being overly patriotic and having a false view of the real history of the country. Post 9/11 when I did not jump on the bandwagon of buying all kinds of flag decals, my patriotism was question.

During the run up to the Iraq war when I was opposed to it, the "why do you hate America" crowd were really strong. It seems the war is unpopular now, but where were these people when their opinion would have mattered?

I really dont like seeing a lot of people lock-stepping behind a flag..... reminds me of the Nazis and master race fantasies.

BINGO! People like to paint Hitler as some brutal monster who held Germany hostage to his will. When he tried to seize power he was thrown in prison. After he was elected not a single thing he did before he commited suicide was illegal (legal is what you say it is when you control the courts). The Germans loved him and fought until the very end. That mindset of "America: LOve it or leave it" always has that kind of power behind it. They think they know what is best and if given the power would always persecute those who disagree.

I like diversity . . . - steven02151

> The United Nations - that organization founded by Communists (read the book The Fearful Master by Edward G. Griffin and you will discover the truth about this 'lovely' outfit) will love you for saying this, for using this expression. Diversity - it is one of their protocols. For instance, here in New Zealand, one of the Commonwealth countries, illegal aliens are flooding in from dirt-poor corners of the Pacific, complete with their extended families and cousins and hangers-on, all at a terrific price to the taxpayer. The UN insists that, if you don't take a certain quota - and they decide that ever-increasing quota - you will not have access to the World Bank.
> The UN want people, but only in the West, to buy into the idea that their own culture is not 'good enough', that they need to embrace every other culture in order to be somehow fulfilled. Look into other religions, including Satanism and witchcraft (call it Wicca, to make it sound nice), and embrace them all. Be part of it all. Open yourself up (expose yourself and your family) to gods your grandparents never envisioned in a thousand years. Above all, keep in mind the word 'diversity', for this is the key to weakening the West. Look at Britain, my home country. A tiny island nation, with a population of approximately 60 million, is now expected - demanded by the UN - to take in hundreds of thousands more Eastern Europeans, British-hating Muslims, and anyone else that the UN decides should be accepted. And regardless of how they got there in the first place, the British immigration authorities must walk on glass in case they 'offend' these new immigrants. Provide them with council houses; give them passports and residency; educate them and help them find already scarce jobs; and remember, whatever you do, never to step on their cultural toes.
> Meanwhile, the traditional British way of life is swirling down the toilet. Dearly-held traditions, special days and holidays, are being cancelled because they 'offend' the new immigrants, those the British are warned they must embrace and nurture.
> A newspaper headline in the Daily Telegraph (my old employers in London, by the way) had a photograph of a 'top Muslim cleric' in England. He stood there almost blue in the face with venom. This was the headline: "Why we must bleed Britain dry." The article was lengthy and revealing - a shocker, if there ever was one.
> Oh yes. I am all for diversity. Bring them on. Let them pour in. Let us learn their religion and their culture. Let us throw our centuries-old traditions and ways of life into the bucket to ensure that we do not offend these people's sensibilities. If they do bleed us dry, we must see it as a sacrifice. At least we will have assuaged the wrath of that fearful master, the United Nations.

Just an added note, most of the prisoners are non-violent offenders - and most of the voilent ones are out roaming the streets because of prison overpopulation. It's a booming rackette.
