Posted: 4/24/2008 1:25:52 PM | Lost is one of the most ridiculous shows that I have ever seen in my life. Why is Lost and other shows that have absurd story lines so popular? I think that it's because they reflect an absurd society. Most of these shows seem to have been written by alcoholics and drug addicts. That might be that reason for their success, they have a mass appeal, because most of the general public drinks and use drugs. When viewers see these shows, it speaks to them, because in their minds it was written just for them. A chaotic society produces chaotic television. Lost has an absurd comic book script that is guarded by Ft. Knox like security. In many aspects, the show is a metaphor for the real world.
The character of John Locke is in many ways similar to Jesus Christ, or any other figure that threats the established insane ruling class. He is the man that was crippled and started to walk on the island. After he heard Jacob's voice he became a clear threat to the mad emperor. That show is very lucky to have a good cast, lesser actors would have not been able to make that script interesting, believable, and entertaining, and there by selling the show. | |

It's different from anything else on. And the show doesn't speak to me nor do I think it was written just for me. Who's on drugs here? | |

So many twists and turns,flashbacks,coincidences (actual and dreamed up)and all the time you are wondering what the heck is going on.
When you see something you wonder how it will ever fit into the story line later on and it generally does. An example were the numbers on the door on the top of the tunnel,turns out they were the same numbers Hurley won the lottery with years earlier.
Pretty imaginative writers, maybe you just need some imagination to enjoy it. | |

Now, I watch just to get to the end and see what the explanation for all the weird stuff is going to be about. It's too bad that producers/writers didn't stay true to the claim that everything happening is based on real science. Now it is all a struggle to control some mystic force. It is still fun to see who is going to get the next DUI and see how they kill of the character. | |

Posted: 4/25/2008 4:36:05 AM | I love it and think its a cracking show, watched the first episode when it first came on thinking it was just about a bunch of plane crash survivors on an island but it quickly got mysterious and complex and i just could'nt stop watching, i think it very well put together and i love it when they finaly reveal what some of the randomness is at the end of a show, just makes me wana see whats going to happen next, must admit though that i was really into the first 3 seasons but am finding the latest a little too sporadic and trying to keep tracks of it all now is a real mind job.
Main thing that is keeping me going is the fact that they've made it quite obvious that only 7 people get off the island so its keeping me hooked because i wana know who is staying behind and who are they killing off, we know that Jack, Hurley, Kate, Sun and Sayid make it back but thats it so far so that leaves alot of main characters and not so main characters that are gona stay behind or be killed off, other than that its all a bit much at the mo, although it was a good episode god knows what the one with Desmond going back and fourth in time was all about ???? | |
