| Messages in the bottom of your profile Posted: 4/25/2008 5:34:34 PM | | If you mean the part where your last 5 forum posts show, you cant delete them. What is the problem with what you posted that you dont want it on your profile. Is it not your real thoughts and a way of someone seeing what you are really all about? | |

| Messages in the bottom of your profile Posted: 4/25/2008 7:28:32 PM | I love that feature...so much so I'm kind of disappointed when there's nothing there. When someone contacts me, I always read their profile before responding, and look for their opinions on the boards...
I think you get a better read on people that way. Too bad such a low percentage of members are actually forumites.

Yes, there is a way to rid the past five messages posted in your profile from forums----post five more!!
Of course though anyone can still get to see them if they check out your posting history that appears in the new thread under your picture.

| Messages in the bottom of your profile Posted: 4/26/2008 9:18:51 AM | I love the fact the forums add so much to a person's profile, like a extension of their thoughts etc, and I have no problem with my posts showing on my profile, as I'm a very open person with nothing to hide, all my hopes, thoughts, dreams, etc are on the posts I write and if anyone were to read all mine, they would have a deeper understanding of me | |

| Messages in the bottom of your profile Posted: 4/26/2008 9:38:30 AM | I think the things we post in the forums can better express 'US' than the words we type in our profiles! Of course those reading had better take into consideration that we have our good and bad days - grumpy and happy days - witty and sarcastic days! Plus there are way more than the 5 postings at the bottom of our profiles - for some hundreds! | |

If you would prefer not having those posts in your profile then delete your profile and those posts will go with it. Of course, you'll have to resubmit a new profile and never post in the forums again.

| Messages in the bottom of your profile Posted: 5/21/2008 4:01:39 AM | I prefer that you can't delete them.
On the rare occasion that you find someone who has been active in the forums, it gives you a bit more insight into what they're like, and what their interests are.
It's also less awkward to reply to someone with respect to a specific post than it is to respond to an advertisement-like profile.

| Messages in the bottom of your profile Posted: 5/21/2008 8:07:26 PM | Definitely I agree 100% it gives great insight to what a persons opinions are and how they respond to others posts....
It's also a deterent for those who like to run there mouth off ,it's gonna be right there on their profile for all to read .. it's a good deterent really..
Okay so it's never stopped anyone running their mouth off

| Messages in the bottom of your profile Posted: 5/24/2008 10:27:37 PM | | I agree with others have had to say on this topic. It's a good way to get to know others by seeing what they have posted. Sometimes I've looked at a person's profile because what they posted was really interesting. | |

| Messages in the bottom of your profile Posted: 5/25/2008 12:57:30 PM | | I looked into the same issue. There is virtually no way to delete your posts. They remain with you like a permanent (unwanted) tattoo. The only option is to create a totally new profile. People will be less inclined to write what's on their mind if they know there is going to be a permanent written record of what they say for all to see. | |

| Messages in the bottom of your profile Posted: 5/26/2008 7:12:41 AM | If you change your username they aren't listed if someone looks up in the forums (click myforums up top for an example)
They'd still show up if someone clicked last 25 posts or googled probably. You can also try making your last 5 be silly things over at the humor forum - maybe someone'll even crack up looking at your profile :)

| Messages in the bottom of your profile Posted: 5/28/2008 3:27:48 PM | It in no way bothers me that my forum entries are noted on my profile.
Personally I agree with the others who say it is a good way to see a persons true character. When people write on the forums, they generally speak what is on their mind, without considering other peoples perceptions of character. It becomes spontaneous writing which in my opinion is much more valuable than what someone writes in their profile, especially if the topic of the forum is a subject which I think sheds importance(views on cheating, expectations, world events etc).

Is it possible that you revealed something about your character you weren't trying to divulge, or did you just write a smart ass comment that can be taken out of context?
Simple thing to remember is that the site does have this option, and you should always keep that in mind, and be yourself on the forums, as you would be in person.
