Posted: 4/27/2008 4:29:28 PM | All right you folks who voted the previous thread out as being redundant, I double checked by doing a search for "dance" in the California forums and only 2 threads came back. Neither of them had recent posts and neither was about venues.
So, let's try it again shall we, and if you don't want to know were to go to dance, that's fine. Don't read it. But if you _do,_ great! Or, if you know of a good place, please post it.

Posted: 4/28/2008 3:08:41 PM | When I go dancing you can always count on the Hop out in Lakewood. There is always lots of ladies to dance with there, it seems to be a "Girls night out" place. They play hip hop and old school r&b. The dance floor is large and open and they have 2 bars one on each side. The place gets pretty full, but you can still find somewhere to sit down on most nights. They have a $10.00 cover charge to get in and the parking is plentiful. All in all it's pretty good, what I really like is that the girls there like to dance and you will get very few no thank yous when you ask someone to dance.

Posted: 4/29/2008 8:24:49 PM | Every Thursday night, Mission Tobacco Lounge in downtown Riverside is the Blues Jam. Musicians come from all over to play, and it is awesome. I am always there. Eeek comes too sometimes, but he is dancephobic.
Come on over Ace, I will dance with you!
Starting in Man, they are adding a blues jam on Sunday afternoon as well.
Buddy, 72 year old swing king is usually there, and man, can he cut a rug. | |

"Starting Gate " in Los Alamitos
Classic rock, oldies, top 40, and always a great live band, NO COVER CHARGE, casual dress. Sorta like a nice dive bar, interesting place for people watching! lol | |

Posted: 4/29/2008 9:32:34 PM | May be a little too far out for some, but Dance Home in Santa Monica hosts free-style dancin and jammin. Don't have to worry about steps or looking good, just move the way you like.
