| Opinions on Half-Sleeve Tattoos on the opposite sex Posted: 4/29/2008 4:16:00 AM | I mean, a boy with a well thought out and not overly cluttered half sleeve on a nice buff arm...preferably wearing a beanie...I'd be panting!
So my question is, do you find half-sleeves sexy? or too cluttered? too...what?

| Opinions on Half-Sleeve Tattoos on the opposite sex Posted: 4/29/2008 12:39:33 PM | They say girls covered with tats have "mommy" issues, I wonder what it means for boys lol
Personally one or two tats I like, regardless of size, although WHAT they are of could bother me...skulls, fire and brimstone, naked ladies....
what the tat is, says a lot about the person. i probably wouldn't mind a half sleeve, tribal...

| Opinions on Half-Sleeve Tattoos on the opposite sex Posted: 4/29/2008 6:12:53 PM | I agree.
LOL I've never heard the mommy issues thing. I don't have a half-sleeve or anything. I'm just very attracted to it.
& yes if it was skulls and crossbones and naked ladies intertwined I don't think I'd be as big a fan of it. But the last handful of guys that I've met that I've been attracted to had them. I swear it's gotta just be a phase. It could also be the fact that they have perfect arms with nice art on them. (they all had nice artwork, not naked ladies and skulls)

| Opinions on Half-Sleeve Tattoos on the opposite sex Posted: 4/30/2008 12:33:38 AM | Hmm, seems I have an odd eye for things then, I often thought naked ladies where a work of art, guess I'll have to check that one off my list of possible subjects. OT I rarely find much in the way of tattoos attractive, but I can certainly respect the artistic talent that goes into drawing them. | |

| Opinions on Half-Sleeve Tattoos on the opposite sex Posted: 4/30/2008 2:38:43 PM | | Generally, I consider tattoos, particularly butterflies, demeaning and self absorbed expressions of crass vanity that inform me that you're jail bait origins are from broken homes, failed marriages, social workers, sleezy sex and drug abuse and other fun stuff. But I'm never judgmental about people desecrating their bodies if they are unsullied within. | |

| Opinions on Half-Sleeve Tattoos on the opposite sex Posted: 4/30/2008 7:06:22 PM | | i have 6 tattoo's and I dont have mommy issues. What ever that is meant to mean. I like the sleeve look. One a man that is. It would depend on the woman who has it that would make my mind up on that one. The previous poster, i am none of the things you have listed. So to put that out there and assume thats what all tattoo'd people are, I think you should get to know some people with them. You'd be surprised that probably 99.9% are not what you think they are out to be. | |

| Opinions on Half-Sleeve Tattoos on the opposite sex Posted: 4/30/2008 7:26:18 PM | Generally speaking I like tattoos... I see them as an artform and the majority of the tattoos that I have seen are very artistic, extremely well done an is an extension of the owner's personality.
I find the lower back chick tattoos a bit tacky....look at my arse tats!..lol
I have always wanted a tat... a nice lil Canadian Maple Leaf somewhere....I am not brave enough to ever do a sleeve.

| Opinions on Half-Sleeve Tattoos on the opposite sex Posted: 4/30/2008 7:34:32 PM | I have no tattoos but my daughter does, as do most of her friends. In talking to a lot of them, their tat's represent meaningful things in their lives and is also works of art, many them cost upward to $1000 or more. They do not do it lightly and take great thought to them. At first it was a bit of a shock to get use to (being brought up in old school teaching lol) but now I see the beauty in them and appreciate the art and artists that do this work. btw, her friends are from all walks of life, from homemakers to nurses, lawyers, military, state/federal workers and just about any other profession I can think of.. so I'm of the impression that this is a culture expression, sorta like beehives were in my day.. just not as easy to wash off LOL... Just my opinion | |

| Opinions on Half-Sleeve Tattoos on the opposite sex Posted: 4/30/2008 7:39:03 PM | | I have a kiss mark on my butt, it was done for a guy to tell him where to kiss it. I don't like the skull and bone ones or the heart and roses. Too typical. Not really attractive. I have 3 that are visible but 3 that are hidden. | |

| Opinions on Half-Sleeve Tattoos on the opposite sex Posted: 5/1/2008 12:18:03 PM | | When I was a young teen my father took me in to pay for cutting out the home made tattoos I had ..it took a very long time for the scares to fade away but they did ..one of my brothers had some cut out but new professional ones put over some of his because it was going to be to expensive to remove them .. My father said he did it so I would have a second chance to clean up my act and the tattoos made me look like a juvy..at the time he was right ...tatoos are back in style again ..big time ..everyone except me has them now and they dont mean anything anymore ,,the half sleeve looks cool ..and with so many getting them its not going to go out of style any time soon..and you wont be labelled a juvy or a criminal if you have them ...just stick with the professional tattoo parlours to have the work done,,.. | |

| Opinions on Half-Sleeve Tattoos on the opposite sex Posted: 5/1/2008 12:41:57 PM | I have 2 tattoos and planning a 3rd for my birthday this year. My daughter has 6 tattoos.
I think it all depends on the style of the tattoo, how the artist does it and what the tattoo is to symbolize. There can be really nice tattoos on people and then some are just horrible. I don't like the face tattoos but sleeves, backs are nice.

| Opinions on Half-Sleeve Tattoos on the opposite sex Posted: 5/1/2008 1:54:34 PM | I personally don't mind a well thought out classy tat that bares some meaning to the person wearing it but........ These humungous tats all up an arm or elswhere do nothing for me, actually find it kinda creepy. Huge tats on women just look awefull, I don't get it, never will. | |

| Opinions on Half-Sleeve Tattoos on the opposite sex Posted: 5/3/2008 5:02:21 PM | i think that with all body art, it's more a matter of the style than the quantity. some people have tons of art, but clashing styles or badly inked. personally i'm most fond of tribal and japanese styles, and not a lot of colour range (a smaller palette of hues looks better on skin IMO). some guys (and girls) look pretty hawt with lots of body art, others less so...in part it's the style, in part it's also the canvass...some bodies just don't showcase it well.
so my answer is...i like it, sometimes ; )

| Opinions on Half-Sleeve Tattoos on the opposite sex Posted: 5/3/2008 8:49:18 PM | I think tattoo's are cool, but only if there is a storey behind them .....I think it dumb when people get those jing yang or chinese character or sun's tattooed and the maple leaf is getting played out ...
for the past few years I've been thing about getting both my sleeves done but each with an different style and then why you put them together there would be another picture.....

HA-LARIOUS
I agree with Hal wholeheartedly. I cannot tell you how unattractive I find tattoos. They're a near dealbreaker for me. I can't defend my biases, but thats simply my preference. Its been my experience that so many people get them to form an indentity thats left void due to their lack of personality. Its my been own experience that many of the girls with TONS of tattoos are the ones who must affirm their individuality and thus expose their lack thereof. Though, this is certainly not without exception. I have many good friends with tattoos. Just a (perhaps) irrational stereotype I've developed that I do not have the patience to overcome.

| Opinions on Half-Sleeve Tattoos on the opposite sex Posted: 6/17/2008 12:44:33 PM | | Scars>tats. Any jackoff with a hundred bucks can go get a tat, you gotta live life to have scars. Plus they're overly trendy, can't walk a block down commercial drive without running into a dozen interchangable people with these. I miss the old days when it was just convicts and sailors who had tats instead of hipsters and bar sloots. | |

but aslong as they aren't dumb ones . I knew this chick who got a tattoo of her name on her lower back ! LMAO everyone always bugged her about it . that was a dumb tattoo.
one day I will be getting both sleve's done got it all planned out .

| Opinions on Half-Sleeve Tattoos on the opposite sex Posted: 6/22/2008 11:06:02 AM | Graffiti just interferes with my enjoyment of the architecture , so "NO" to tattoos on women.
I have seen maybe one or two discreetly placed, tasteful drawings on women, but that is not very many in the context of 40+ years of ardent interest in the unadorned canvas.

| Opinions on Half-Sleeve Tattoos on the opposite sex Posted: 6/22/2008 11:27:58 AM | Don't you find it rather sexist to say "half-sleeves don't belong on women"?
If I had nicer arms than I do, I'd have half sleeves right now. Not going to let anyone in on what they'd be - it's a work in progress right now - but I'd do it. As is, I have 2 tattoos. Small ones. Two little dog paw prints on my chest sort of by my shoulders. Not really your typical 'first time tattoos' but ones that hold meaning to me.
As for half sleeves on guys? Bring it on. Although, sometimes, depending on the guy full sleeves look much nicer. On girls though, if she's got the right arms, a half sleeve with lots of color and reflecting her personality etc. is gorgeous.
Quad24 - My coworker's niece had her name tattooed on her lower back. She said it was so the guys knew what name to call out. That's just dirty - and funny.
