Do you think this world is a better place because of the discovery of LSD, or would it be better if it was never discovered at all?

My ex husband swore by it though.
Am I right in thinking that it was used to treat depression at one point? Or am I making that up? | |

Its not surprising a newspaper like the guardian would have a blog making someone
out like this to be a national hero after all when most of their readers are "liberal"

But is there any evidence about these people who beleived they could fly and died after taking LSD? I've always heard it's a myth and well the effects aren't really like that giving you the idea you can fly. | |

Which 'victims' would these be?
like for like there are FAR fewer deaths related to LSD than to Alcohol.
I've also never seen anyone using LSD getting into a fight, or falling over and puking in the street. Though I have seen them stand and stare at a coloured light for an hour or so.
The opinion of a person who knows nothing of the subject, has probably never tried it, and probably reads the daily mail.
You'll possibly now go trawling the internet, find an LSD related death and use this isolated case to 'prove' that I'm wrong. Feel free.
I'm surprised you don't get run over wearing those blinkers though ;) | |

Every illegal drug has its foundations routed in curing disease and pain. I think the German company Bayer marketed heroin as a non-addictive morphine substitute and cough medicine for children in the early 1900's. | |

give me more of a high than taking some stupid mind controlling drug any day........

Ive never been tempted to try it myself but i have seen the effects of LSD on others,its pretty scary to watch so i cant even begin to imagine what it would be like to experience. | |

Firstly, this doesn't suprise me, secondly, how would you know if you haven't tried, thirdly, who compared one to the other?
give me more of a high than taking some stupid mind controlling drug any day........
It doesn't control the mind, it screws up the synaps connections, making strange and random thought occur.
At least try to have some knowledge of what you're having 'an opinion' on

Posted: 4/30/2008 12:40:58 PM | LSD is an amazing experience, but it can mess you up. Not that I've been messed up from it, but I have seen other people who have, and I did once have a really bad trip (trip means LSD for those of you who don't know).
I don't bother with drugs anymore though, I'm just not that interested, been there and done it throughout my teenage years, I'm 32 now. | |

Tried it a few times before I had my son, enjoyed the experience, haven't felt the urge to do it or any other drugs (illegal) since really.

I was joking about being a Daily Sport reader but accept your point about
having knowledge of a subject if your going to make an opinion on any given topic.
I'm strongly against all drugs having seen the damage they can do to people at
close hand and seen good friends become almost zombie like through years of
smoking illegal substances which have ruined their lives and their families......
