The day has finally arrived when voters in London and other parts of
the country have the chance to send a msg to Gordon Brown in the polls
or if you support his party keep the opposition out for another four years...

It may only be local elections today and not a general one but every vote counts
and your opinion could make a difference where you live as to what services you
recieve so if they only pick up your rubbish every 2 weeks or your council tax
bill has gone through the roof you have no right to complain if you stay at home!

Will you be voting today in the elections if your having one in your area
and without revealing who your voting for if you don't wish will you be
casting your ballot for the same party again or giving somebody else a chance?

If its raining and you prefer to stay in and watch Loose Women instead on TV vote in the poll!

Will be voting conservative this year.
Have always been agains many conservative views, but what are the other options?
A vote for the lib dem or any other party is a waste of a vote, and what labour have done to this country over the years is appauling (in MY opinion). Which leaves us with conservative.

As long as Gordon Brown isn't prime minister I'll happy.

And locally...I shan't bother...they are all pretty much the same, and nothing ever changes. So I won't waste my time

I'll be voting today (thanks for the reminder Hams). I'll be voting Labour, which, for the first time, will be tactical voting. I'll find out who is standing when I get to the polls as I haven't had any electoral info from any of the parties.

Well I've been to cast my votes and hope a certain Mayor gets a kick in the ballots today...

Polling stations are open until 10pm tonight so there is plenty of time still to get down there and have your say...

Would always vote for labour. No matter how shoddy they are at the moment, no matter how bad things are, they can never be as bad as they were under the tories. We really had something to moan about then! But the British have short memories so no doubt Slimey Dave will get in next time and the council elections will go against the party in power as usual.

Will he.............brilliant................

The one thing the new party can do, is to abolish any laws brought in by the previous party............you very rarely hear they are putting things down in price........and if anything say "oh yeah we inherited it from the last party".....................

I have always voted the same way as I believed in what I voted for.... This year because of the proposals by all the parties it has been very thought provoking....

After giving it due consideration I voted for the peson who I believe will do the best for London..

If people read their policies properly they would see they are sensible, its not just the immigration aspect, but they have good policies on education, health, the enviroment, law and order, old people, europe and many more things.

Link to the Bnp manifesto,

Yes I agree it all looks sensible on paper, the promises to cut crime, home the homeless, control immigration, but if you go read the NSDAP 25 point programme proclaimed by Adolf Hitler on the 24th February 1920 you will find a great deal of similarity, right down to the fact that there was no clear information as to where the funding would come for this wonderful Nazi utopia.

The Bnp and their politics have no place in a rational modern society, veiled rascism is still rascism.

There were no elections in my area today.

Though, if I was voting today, I would certainly be agreeing with this:

I had a wry chuckle as the Vote Labour leaflet dropped through my door about 7pm this evening. Just about sums things up at the moment I'd say, regretfully.

I'd been out to cast my vote mid morning, it was noticeably quiet at the Polling Booth, another all time low turn out perhaps? We have a Tory / Liberal Alliance Council with a fair few Independents working with them which seems to work better than most one Party dominated ones.

3 of our 4 local candidates are Labour and after doing voluntary work up here and 'seeing them in action' (ie turning up late and throwing a strop, or not even turning up at all...) I voted for the other guy - have no idea who he's with or what his policies are but.............

Fairly similar situation up here ........ last minute leafleting campaign ... leaflets full of meaningless waffle, no real solutions for any local issues ....... no actual 'doorstepping', no 'meet and greets' ..... only one candidate outside the polling station trying to drum up support by mumbling "hello" as I walked past her to go and vote .... so much passion in politics, eh?

Theres underlying racism everywhere, you want to really look at our society and see how "racist" our ethnic friends are towards us in our own country, muslims have their own little groups, there are immigrant only charitys which wont give grants to anyone but immigrants, thats racism against us ,, no one complains about that, a blind eye is turned to that,, but if the BNP say anything everyone is so quick to pick on the racist angle, like they are the only racist group on this earth, people should open their eyes and really look around at whats going on here, for that reason I feel the BNP do have a place in our society.

If the bnp are so clean why does all the leadership have criminal records?
Vote bnp? I would vote green party and even [dis]respect before i would vote that gang of thugs and racists.
And i went to vote on my way home from work.I got there at 6.30pm tonight. 800 people are eligible to vote at my local polling station. The polling station is in the local primary school so i would guess that those 800 are, like me, nearby.
Yet at 6.30pm only 146 of us had bothered to vote.
Yes there were a few followed me in but i would be surprised if 200 people voted in our councill election from that polling station.Figures i find downright disgusting.
Isnt it time for compulsory voting?.

No i didnt vote Labour. Untill Labour is kicked out of office this country cannot be classed as a TRUE democracy.
At the moment the english and welsh live under a tyranny.
Its time for change.

who said they where clean?

no party is "clean" all parties have candiates with unsavoury historys of one sort or another, and other parties sometimes hide this, its kept quiet and theres thugs in all parties, they are just more cleverly disgused in other parties thats all!!! I bet theres loads in the Labour/Conservative/liberal/greens with criminal records, I bet some of the voters would have a shock if they knew the truth about the mainstream parties, at the least the BNP are upfront about it!!!

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Name and shame then.......

When the BNP talks about preserving "the white race", it means rounding up and expelling all "non-whites" regardless of whether people were born here or not.

The BNP also claims to be not a party of "race hate". Another outrageous lie. The jokes, caricatures, cartoons and articles depict black people as stupid, criminally-minded and ugly. Time and again, BNP publications talk about the genetic superiority of the white race.

Several BNP members have put this racism into practice:

Former National Organiser Richard Edmonds was convicted for his part in a vicious bottle attack on a mixed-race couple in a pub in East London in 1993.

BNP supporter Stuart Kerr was sentenced to 12 years' imprisonment for firebombing an Asian shop in Chichester, Sussex.

BNP leader Nick Griffin was convicted of incitement to racial hatred in April 1998.

The BNP organiser for Waltham Forest, Alan Gould, was convicted of racially abusing people in a pub in 2000.

Former BNP member David Copeland was sentenced to six life sentences after planting bombs in London. He wanted to start a race war.

On other occasions, the BNP has glorified racist attacks. In 1991, the BNP newspaper gloated after several BNP supporters stabbed an African immigrant at London Bridge station. The victim had his "kidney surgically removed", the paper boasted. In the same year, the BNP leadership whipped up a racist riot in Bermondsey, London, and led an attack on an anti-racist meeting held to protest against the BNP headquarters in Welling. Thirteen people needed hospital treatment.

A BNP presence has almost always culminated in "race hate". When Derek Beackon was elected as a BNP councillor in Millwall, racist attacks in the area soared by 300%.

I know of no other party leaders convicted of anything like the above.

Its amusing when supporters of the rascists come out with idiocys like the above statement. Do they have no idea of how incredibly foolish they look?I would say naive but in the case of the bnp and similar organisations across the races naitivity doesnt come into it. Criminal,GBH and racially motivated attacks are not on the cv of Labour, tory or lib dem leaders. But they are on the cv of the Griffin led party.
And dont it look good?

Exactly my point you wouldnt know unless the press got hold of a story or two, because it would be hushed up, with the BNP its out in the open for all too see.
