It actually gets pretty good gas mileage, though I'm not making any special trips that I don't have to with gas as expensive as it is now.

I'll refer back to the new Cadillac ad "When you turn on your car does it return the favor" That's what it is all about! Currently own a BMW 5 series Nuff said!!!

| What do you drive or ride.......We want to know............ Posted: 5/2/2008 2:54:36 PM | I love my Ford Ranger XLT, with extended cab. It's a 2001 and Ive put around 250,000 miles on it. It's all paid for, which makes it mine, mine, mine! Ive put in a new transmission, radiator, who knows how many sets of tires and brakes... countless oil changes and other must have kind of frquently do-hickies.
Unfortionately my job requires my vehichles not be over a certain number of years in age for me to use it on my mail route.. so.. Im going truck shopping.
I think if I ever bought a car it would be a vintage mustang or one of the new GTOs.. but I really don't care for cars. They sit too close to the road.
If I could drive anything I wanted and not worry about cost or gas? A much bigger truck of course, lol. I just love trucks.

| What do you drive or ride.......We want to know............ Posted: 5/4/2008 11:45:18 PM | Welcome aboard Geezyo....Nice ride buddy!
I drive a full size Bronco........Its raised just a weeeeeeee bit, and gets extremely terrible gas milage! I tend to keep it with the top off, weather permiting. The family likes the wind blown look. Now and then, I'll even take the doors and tail gate off (depending on the amount of beers) and do some cliff/rock climbing and some over the radiator muddin with it. Love coming home with caked mud in the hair!

I love my pickup, wouldn't trade it for the world. It's hell on gas, but oh well.
I have driven everything from an old Mercury Capri (their version of the 80's Mustang), an El Ranchero, a Honda Civic sedan (4 dr) a Nissan Altima, Cadillac De Ville, a Pontiac Aztek, a Ford Exploder (um oh Explorer) and now my Dodge Truck. I have to say I loved the ride of the De Ville and if I am ever in need of an actual car and can afford one of those that's my first choice. However for staying unstuck, getting through the mud and muck; going pretty much wherever I want to ... I'll keep my pickup thanks.
And Sunny, you think yours are tanks ... um mine's a tank and it's tall ....

I have driven everything from an old Mercury Capri (their version of the 80's Mustang), an El Ranchero,
Ok, I do have to contradict you Girltexan, it is either an Elcameno, or the Ranchero, But I do believe they have never come up with the Elranchero............. I have owned both and never have the two been combined........................Love your input though.................

| What do you drive or ride.......We want to know............ Posted: 5/7/2008 11:46:23 AM | For the ranch, I like driving John Deere if its got wheels, but Cat if its treads. I'm partial to heavy trackhoes. Leased a nice one last year just for play. It could reach nearly 30 feet and destroy a Hummer in seconds then pick up the peice of trash and throw it in a pit and bury it. Full AC and stereo in the cab with hyper filtered air. I think it could get up to about 1.5 MPH.
I think the type of car you drive often reflects the type of driver you are. As for rude, its black pickups and SUVs particularly any GM model. Next, its any BMW although of recent, Lexus SUVs are pretty far up there in the rude department.
I stay away, far away, from pompus vehicles and try to stay away from European rides. It seems their wiring attracts rodents. I usually drive a Neon to work and to the marina to get on my real ride, my sailboats. To haul the boats, I've got a Grand Cherokee. The long wheel base but tight turning and four wheel drive are ideal. In my younger days, it was performance. Top end was limited in my old Boss mustang to 150 as it didn't have ground effects and the front would lift. My old Dodge hemi had the top end but it ripped apart its drive shaft doing a bit over 100 so I got rid of it. That was exciting.

| What do you drive or ride.......We want to know............ Posted: 5/7/2008 12:10:16 PM | Wait a minute....please explain a pompous vehicle ?
Do you mean as some sort of status symbol?....well I guess I'd have to agree with ya.
I also prefer to not drive any vehicles the same color, or blend in as concrete.
I also don't like white. Go figure.

| What do you drive or ride.......We want to know............ Posted: 5/7/2008 5:52:00 PM | Oh Lord!! My first car/truck/vehicle was a 73 el camino classic super sport. Was red with white pin striping with black leather interior. Had an exhaust system on it that you could hear a mile away drove that until I got my grad present which was a 80 firebird, which I kept till about 7 years ago.
How I drive as my son calls it.....a hoopty, granny car. But its paid for and its mine!

| What do you drive or ride.......We want to know............ Posted: 5/7/2008 6:34:26 PM | My first car was a Fiat Spider that my friends nicknamed "The Munchkin Mobile." My father declared it unsafe and gave me his hand me down Cadillac Coup Deville that looked like it came from the local funeral home. (Friends called it the "Big Ol' Jet Airliner" after the Steve Miller Band song) I think that car got 8 blocks to the gallon and was NOT a teenage girl's idea of the perfect car! The best car I ever had was a Dodge Intrepid that lost it's life in a head on battle with a Hyundai Elantra on March 1, 2007. If it weren't for the design of that car, I'm convinced I would not here today. Now I drive a Pontiac because...well, because my son-in-law sells 'em!

Before that, I had a full sized Bronco, 83 XLT. I like the Explorer because it's smaller. It's less on gas millage. We do what we do.
