Posted: 5/1/2008 4:57:43 AM | The nightmare attack on the World Trade Centre created not only hundreds of tonnes of rubble but seems also to have created a new emblem of war and 'freedom'. It is now something used to justify murder, torture and the removal of our freedoms and rights under the banner of 'war on terror'.
I personally prefered the old banners of freedom we used to have like the Statue of Liberty and the United Nations and the Sentotaph in London. I believe that it is time to take this rubble and build with it a great monument to freedom and build it right there on Ground Zero. Building anything on that site other than such a monument would be shameful especially if what we build is a commercial venture.
This will give those who lost loved ones something they can go and touch knowing that they are as close to their loved ones as they are ever going to get. It will allow us to march past it every Rememberance Sunday or September 11th (freedom day) as we do here for our war dead and pay our respects for their sacrifice. It needs to be a cry for freedom, not oppression. Build something that will stand for the next one thousand years and send a signal to the world that we are a people of peace and not war.
Given the advances in scientific knowledge, it is also very likely that in years to come the remains of these buildings will reveal the truth about these attacks we all seek today. Like having DNA does now for things that happened generations ago. | |

What about building a chapel of worship at Ground Zero for people of all religious beliefs. Could even let the atheists and infadels use it too. I think the best signal we could send to the world now is one of peace and this tradegy and the rubble it poduced would be a nice start.

The steel went to China and the rest of it went to a garbage dump, including the human remains.
They did use some to make a Navy ship, the USS New York, but it's not sailing up the Potomic to deal with our real enemies, so I guess it will be used to further terrorize the world. | |

Suggesting that the American government was in anyway culpable is nonsence. Your government played no part in these attacks. No explosives, no insurance fiddle, no pretext to war, no corporation business strategy.
The attacks were carried out by terrorist using areoplanes. Simple as. Stop looking for boogymen under your bed and start addressing the problem as to why they did it.
As a nation you have done something shamefull and unforgivable. You have buried your war dead on a rubbish dump. Are you so wrapped up in yourselves that you cannot see how the world sees what you have done and weeps for you.

By all means make a thread and then calculate the energy it took to aersolize more than 85% of those towers. Then get back to me with a full explanation how your planes did that feat of magic. Oh and dont forget the 600ton sections that were thrown over 100 yards. If you need more anergy suckers there are a few more but the powder should suffice nicely for my purposes.
Oh average powder size was 40-60 microns btw.

One problem though is that while its a kool explosion it absolutely does not apply to the wtc on any level. Your examples actually had a real fire though! woohoo!
So would you like to explain why they do not apply or do I have to explain it and show how silly and inappropriate that is as an example of comparison to the wtc?
The rest are either not explosions or would require explanation and justification as to how they apply. Which means show mw the footage that applies.
So you want to divert and change the subject now from calculating the energy required to pulverize thebuilding which I assume that if you truly have a degree in physics that you already know that there was not enough energy available to accomplish that feat of magic without the addition of explosives.

This chapter covers not only explosives, but also blasting agents and detonators, all of which are defined as explosive materials in section 841(c) of title 18, U.S.C. Accordingly, the following is the 2002 List of Explosive Materials subject to regulation under 18 U.S.C. chapter 40. It includes both the list of explosives (including detonators) required to be published in the Federal Register and blasting agents.
The list is intended to include any and all mixtures containing any of the materials on the list. Materials constituting blasting agents are marked by an asterisk. While the list is comprehensive, it is not all inclusive. The fact that an explosive material may not be on the list does not mean that it is not within the coverage of the law if it otherwise meets the statutory definitions in section 841 of title 18, U.S.C. Explosive materials are listed alphabetically by their common names followed, where applicable, by chemical names and synonyms in brackets.
In the 2002 List of Explosive Materials, ATF has added five terms to the list of explosives, has further defined two explosive materials, and has made amendments to two explosive materials to more accurately reference these materials.
