Miriah's ring cost £1.25 million.. it is big yes.. it is also ugly... does it really matter how much a man spends on a promise for life ring as long as it is given in love? to me no ... my ex spent £150 on my ring.. not much at all compared to American's.. yet he brought it with love.. to me that is what a ring is all about.... share your views please... | |

the second about £100...
and the third was £350...
i don't know if i'll ever get another one, but one thing i do know...if i do, the importance won't be placed on how much it cost, but what it represents...

I think the thinking behind it was that if anything happened to the groom, the bride-to-be was taken care of. It also showed he was serious about his proposal (in a time when breaking off an engagement could mean being sued for breach of contract).
Both my engagements were considerably cheaper than that (hmmm, two cheap engagement rings, two divorces, maybe there's something in it after all). | |

I certainly don't. I was never engaged to my daughters dad, and we didn't have wedding rings either. Our relationship wasn't based on what we could buy each other, nor what things cost.
I've never understood the whole 'engagement' malarkey...... unless its for the gifts!

I know he had to sell his golf clubs to buy it and so doubt it cost that much but I loved that ring. I wouldnt have cared if he got it out of a christmas cracker it was the thought that counted.
My second engagement ring cost about £300 and I chose it becuase I really liked the ring, was very unusual in fact i still havent seen another one like it to this day. Im not a materialistic person so the amount spent on an engagement ring doesnt really matter to me, Its the thoughts and feelings behind it that counts.
I personally hate those big huge rocks that all the celebrities have. They look hideous as far as im concerned and its just a case of 'look how well i have done' more or less  | |

some were expensive some were not, and at the time i loved each one,( the rings you tool) the men were ok too i suppose, but i think spending a load of cash on a ring is naff, much better to fly all your mates to rome for the weekend get pissed as farts and take loads of embarassing pics of them flashing their fat arses at pretty italian boys. | |

If I fell madly in love with a man who happened to be stinking rich then i wouldn't turn down a 5 carat diamond ring i can tell you!! Equally if I fell for a man who wasn't so wealthy and gave me the best ring he could afford then that would be fine as well.
In all honesty if you were presented with the choice of a gorgeous sparkling expensive ring or a cheap tacky ruby and CZ one and you could choose either one which would you pick?
I don't mind admitting I would choose the massive sparkler!! | |

ermmm yeap I would.... for my 40th... omg... am I going to admit this.. my mother.. bless her... my life... brought me a ring from my two kids for my 40th three weeks ago... it is huge and expensive.. and hideous... I wear it when she comes over for her sake... but really... I hate it... never got the first one back, but still got the second... I really should get rid of it.

The ring I bought cost just short of four thousand pounds, I know I expect to recieve some gentle reminders from posters endowed with sense of the common variety.
In someways, people have made the comment that the cost was not an issue so I to would have been happy to buy a 50 quid one (smiles.)
Question is don't you think if a woman has a modicrum of decency they would return the ring if they choose to discard the 'ringee' (provider of said bauble)?

in all fairness.. if your silly enough to buy a ring for 4 grand no.. I wouldn't give you it back.. you brought it for me... ebay is calling lol lol
