| Are we getting over the hill ? Posted: 5/1/2008 7:04:45 PM | | We're in our 30's...The 20's are over and a lot has to be discovered, yet a whole lot has already been discovered. Most of us made same great decisions and also made some big mistakes. What should we call this...Are we young, old, or somewhere in between ? | |

| Are we getting over the hill ? Posted: 5/1/2008 8:53:09 PM | Isn't it the same thread as the "missing the boat" thread?
Dude, you got way more than a half of your life left. You got the stupidity of your 20s out of your system. Enjoy it, it's gonna be awesome.

I remember the time when this was old. eeeeekkk
I have to agree with the previous post. Wiser, and with some "maturity"
Far from over the hill though.
I actually love being this age, much more confident, mature, wiser, not as hot headed lol. the list goes on...........
OMGOSH. ...soon I will be hitting the over 40 forums ACCCCCKKKKK!!!

| Are we getting over the hill ? Posted: 5/2/2008 6:44:59 AM | I'll tell ya what! If I could choose an age, keep it and live for 500yrs....
I'd stay the age the age I am now, 37! And next year, I might decide to choose 38!
...so i won't be over-the-hill 'til I hit year 250!

| Are we getting over the hill ? Posted: 5/2/2008 5:16:40 PM | | Thanks guys, sometimes I feel like my 20's was my prime, but maybe its not. Never read the boat post, but I suppose other guys/girls in their 30's question if they're out of their prime every once in a while. | |

| Are we getting over the hill ? Posted: 5/2/2008 5:36:51 PM | I agree with being in our tweens. We have settled into our careers, maybe divorced, a little wiser, a little more accepting. We've yet to hit our second puberty (where you get hair growing out of your nose, ears, toes and knuckles) We're past saying "oh I'm 29.... again" We aren't broke like in college, we aren't naive like in our 20's.
I think it's a good place to be.

| Are we getting over the hill ? Posted: 5/3/2008 7:15:23 PM | Nomatter what a persons age,I dont think they should ever stop learning and discovering things about themselves and the world around them...Im still able to jog up the hill,so I feel pretty darn good these days:)Ill be 35 in two weeks, and Im in the best shape of my life.I eat alot healthier, excercise and dont take my health for granted anymore like I used to...I saw a coffee mug one time that absolutely cracked me up..It said,"Id rather be over the hill than under it" Amen to that! When I do get to the top of the hill..I intend to enjoy the view:)~Kat~ | |

| Are we getting over the hill ? Posted: 5/4/2008 8:27:59 AM | OVER THE HILL .......... Is a state of mind. Life is too short to waste it! It just keeps getting better and better. | |

| Are we getting over the hill ? Posted: 5/5/2008 12:38:24 PM | | I agree. At 34 I am in the best shape of my life physically and emotionally I know exactly what I want...and what I don't want. My 20's was about building and learning. My 30's are about enjoying success, being confident and having fun. This by far has been my best decade yet! | |

| Are we getting over the hill ? Posted: 5/5/2008 1:24:05 PM | No way...
I'll be 34 in a few weeks and I am playing in 5 bands now...much more active, in better shape than when I was working my 'corporate" job...and having a lot more fun...
Age is just a number... | |

| Are we getting over the hill ? Posted: 5/5/2008 3:15:29 PM | Your twenties were for learning about life. Your thirties and upwards are for living life. Dont spend too much time pondering over what you could have /should have done it serves no purpose. | |

| Are we getting over the hill ? Posted: 5/5/2008 5:37:00 PM | | Sometimes I think about the age I was at (15) when my mom was the age I'm at now. She was WAY older than I am at this age! If that makes any sense. lol But I cannot see her dancing around the living room banging her head to 80's hair bands with us like I do with my kiddos. Surprisingly, they dig it. | |

| Are we getting over the hill ? Posted: 5/5/2008 5:52:23 PM | | I am not over the hill...yet but I have a few grey hairs on the top of my head that make me wonder. Still I am more stable then I was in my 20's and I know what I am going to do with my life. | |

| Are we getting over the hill ? Posted: 5/6/2008 12:07:48 AM | | Aging for men is not the same as it is for women. Older men can still be sexy ,handsome and desirable by younger women. Older women are just older women past their prime and put out to pasture. Your a man op so you will never really be past your prime. | |

| Are we getting over the hill ? Posted: 5/6/2008 8:35:33 AM | | "I promise to keep on living as though I expected to live forever. Nobody grows old by merely living a number of years. People grow old by deserting their ideals. Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up wrinkles the soul." --General Douglas MacArthur | |

| Are we getting over the hill ? Posted: 5/6/2008 8:45:15 AM | | The reality of old age doesn't sink in for most people until they start losing their health and vigor. When the body starts failing, even the simplest things (like walking~lol) get to be a chore and your optimism of life wanes. The hardest part of getting old is usually the physical part, not the mental. As Bette Davis once said, growing old isn't for sissies. | |

| Are we getting over the hill ? Posted: 5/6/2008 6:38:08 PM | | I had a kid at 20. I was so consumed with looking after him that I didn't take good care of myself. I was a chubby, reclusive, housewife without a husband. When I moved back to my home state near family I started getting out of my comfort zone and getting out to socialize. My 20's was blown learning everything I know about life online. My son will be graduating in about 5 years. I can't fcuking wait! I can't wait. I CAN'T WAIT. I can wait actually-- just to make time to line up what all it is I want to do. I want to take vacations on school days, I want to come home from work and have sex in my living room. I want to make purchases without buyer's remorse. I want to work at a bar just to know what it's like. I want to pay someone to clean up messes that only I leave behind. I didn't know what happy hour was until I was 30. I had a daily day care deadline and homework to do (still doing homework) until he was 10. I don't care that I'm over 30! I just want to work hard in my career and live fully so when he's grown and gone I can really enjoy doing what I want-- and not just what I need to. I'll take 40 for that freedom-- 40 is the new 30 anyway, they say! | |

| Are we getting over the hill ? Posted: 5/7/2008 3:04:47 PM | | I think most of us are "younger" then our previous generations. I know I don't feel my age, nor do I look it. I believe these are the best years of my life so in no way do I feel over the hill, more like just starting the best part of my life! | |
