| Why does my profile information keep disappearing??????
Posted: 5/2/2008 10:29:54 PM | I will include all of my profile information in thes thread. Here is the problem. I upload my profile info into the "about me" section and the "first date" section along with my headline and when I check back later it is all blank!?! I am uploading it out of MS word and it displays properly when finished. I have no profanity or person links to outside site so I just don't get it. Help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! Info to follow-
About Me:
I'm going through this rough patch in my life right now where I'm looking for somebody but because I don’t have a lot of time, I cannot commit myself all in. It would be nice however to have somebody to curl up on the couch with to maybe watch a movie, or go on a motorcycle ride to take in the countryside and get a bite to eat. Please do not read into this as I don’t want to commit, it’s just that for now time will not permit. Basically as time passes I will become more available but for now I don’t want to be selfish and portray that I am someone who can put 100% of my time into a relationship and then let them down. Nonetheless, if the right person came along I would give [u]all that I have to give[/u] to try to make things work with the time I do have. It’s all about understanding really and if you think you may want to be with me there has to be some understanding! Now that that’s all cleared up…
Ok, this is where all the pertinent information comes in about my lack of time soooo…first, I was in a pretty bad motorcycle accident August 29th of last year. A woman pulled out in front of me and I hit her broadside. I pulverized the navicular joint in my right foot, messed up both my knees, cracked a couple of ribs, got some road rash, and messed up my hip. I am still recovering from this incident, which involves physical therapy three times a week, numerous doctors’ appointments and/or surgeries, and at home rest. Believe it or not this slightly cramps my life in the dating scene. I know, hard to grasp huh?
Second, my father recently passed from cancer. It started in his throat, and then moved to his lungs then liver. I am currently trying to get the estate in order and this also requires some time to do.

I usually have every other weekend to myself, when I don’t have my daughter. And I have most weeknights to myself as I watch my daughter during the week also. It’s really not that bad, but there are times when it is somewhat crazy busy! I will however say this, life is what you make of it so when I get the time I try to make it great by spending it with great people. If you feel you’re one of these people, we may be missing out on each other so don’t be afraid to let your fingers do the walking, on the keyboard!
There is so much more I could talk about, like being a volunteer firefighter, country life, my wonderful daughter, working on one of the many cool vehicles I own, or even about my hopes, goals, and dreams, but alas, if I did what would you have left to ask me!
One other thing, I’m not like the average man. I don’t do drama and I don’t do sports, except for Red Wings (way to crush Colorado!) , and maybe a NASCAR race once or twice a year. I do do vehicle repair/modification, yard work, hangin out w/ friends (yours or mine), Grey’s Anatomy (and most other primetime television [DVR ROCKS!!!]), and Spongebob square pants! 
First date:
Before a date even happens there needs to be conversation. Talking is so underrated. Be it by email, voicemail, phone, fax, or snailmail, I don't really care, I just wanna talk. If we don't really mesh on the phone or paper why should we both waste our petrol to end up getting let down! But, if we do mesh, prolly a nice date to a restaurant of your choice. I say that because it will give you the upper hand by allowing you to sit and eat in a place your comfortable. Maybe post a lookout to ensure I’m not some creep! It’s all good for me. If I were a woman I would hate to date some guy I have never met and would definitely want to be somewhere I felt safe.
If things went well through dinner, maybe go for a walk and talk more, ya know, like in the movies! I’m kinda a romantic like that, or at least I used to be. I’m trying to be that guy again, I just need to meet the right woman to bring it out of me again. Ya kinda hafta wanna do it, or have a reason to do it. Anyways, it would be nice to not really have a plan and play most of the night by ear; however, If the weather was nice, maybe even go out on my Harley and cruise the countryside, if your into that sort of thing. Lastly, to bring the evening to a close, how about staying out too late gazing at the stars? I’m in, how about you? | |

I have re-written my profile description and first date sections like 3 times and each time they show that they updated, but then for some reason they just go POOF. I am in the same boat as you are and I am a little ticked off. Hope we get a good answer to this question. | |

Posted: 5/16/2008 1:45:34 AM | i found this out today while at a friends house while ii was looking at my profile i was like hey i deleted that pic but it 's still up and then noticed my profile was the same as before i changed it but on my computer the profile i re wrote shows up and without the pic i don't one on.which is good.so which one is on hre the good or the bad?

The site indeed abhors long numbers, as well, if you're copy/pasting from notepad in a desperate attempt to get it to stay (Your profile), I found notepad and other programs, regardless of word wrap off or on add line breaks. The site seems to hate that.
I actually stumbled on this when I went to do the same thing the OP did by posting my profile message and saw it completly fubar'd from what the original post looked like on the screen once I hit 'update'
Type it out, physically, and avoid a long string of numbers, even if they're connected by dash's. Don't copy/paste it. Maybe the Devs threw that little kink in to make you not be so lazy *winks* Who knows.
The only reason I kind of post on this thread is because I was searching for an answer and this one within 5 pages was closest to my problem. | |

Win2K & XP, yes, Win9x no Word Wrapping at all. One of the Reason Win98SE's Notepad had been transported over to NT Systems. | |
