| Going on a date...as is, would you do it? Posted: 5/3/2008 3:47:47 PM | You have been messaging someone for a while, talking on the phone...maybe you have even already met...he/she calls and asks if you are available to meet them right then and there. Just a spontaneous date/meeting. You're not busy...just hanging around the house, kinda bored. Would you do it? No primping, no fussing with your hair, no changing clothes a million times...just walk out the door as you are.
Isn't spontaneity one of the things we all say we like?
If you got such a call...right now...would you go...as you are, this very minute? If yes...describe yourself, at this minute.
(of course we are not talking about meeting at a fine restaurant or something like that}

| Going on a date as is. Would you do it? Posted: 5/3/2008 3:49:59 PM | | Ummm yeah I don't always care about what I am wearing, or make up etc. I aint a girl who cares about that stuff.....I usually only wear make up ~IF~ I am going out on a date, but if I don't feel like it or it's last minute I think "well jeez, if they don't like me as is.. it would never work anyways... | |

| Going on a date as is. Would you do it? Posted: 5/3/2008 3:50:52 PM | Me? I have been planting flowers and spreading mulch. Wearing cut off jeans and an old tie dyed tank top. If the right person called I would wash my hands and be out the door in minutes. | |

| Going on a date as is. Would you do it? Posted: 5/3/2008 3:56:36 PM | | Oh Hell Yeah! What would be so awful about a new friend or potential lover seeing your "everyday". I mean if I'ld been shovleing sludge out of the septic tank, I might have to shower first. But If I'm just hanging around not a prob Bob. Just get up and go. | |

I have and I would again in a flash.
Presently wearing khakis and a denim shirt. T'is a bad hair day though, so I'd either grab a hat or haul it into a ponytail.

| Going on a date as is. Would you do it? Posted: 5/3/2008 4:00:34 PM | Well, since I'm still sittin on the sofa in my jammies, it could make for an interesting date...
I think that means my answer would have to be...no. Gotta at least get dressed and brush the teeth first.
|
| Going on a date as is. Would you do it? Posted: 5/3/2008 4:00:58 PM | | LOL. Depends entirely on how good I feel that day. If I feel my hair's a mess and I need to shave my legs...no...no way. I'd ask for a half hour. But if I'm feeling nice, sure. | |

| Going on a date...as is, would you do it? Posted: 5/3/2008 4:06:00 PM | Good question...
Maybe if I wasn't trying to impress the guy, and felt at the point it was ok to see me at my grudgy not so best...
I've done bicycle meets, where helmet head is a factor after an hour or more ride... Not a glamours look by any means...
I can splash a bit of make up on in the truck if I am that worried about appearances, long hair can be pulled back in seconds...
Sure... | |

| Going on a date...as is, would you do it? Posted: 5/3/2008 4:06:44 PM | Can I comb my hair first? Being kinda bald it only takes a sec.
If I got the call and she said "come and get me", I'd be showing up in my 'wife beater' shirt and my knock around the house shorts with the grease stains from a few car repairs.
Since my shorts have no pockets I can officially use the 'left my wallet in my other pants' excuse.

| Going on a date...as is, would you do it? Posted: 5/3/2008 4:09:19 PM | | Sure I would! But you ladies in urban areas need to think of practical safety. Call a friend and let them know who you are going with and when you'll be back. In the area I live in if we see 10 cars there is either a funeral or a kegger someplace. We have it made here. Many ladies think all we care about are the trophy aspects of a woman. I wish you could realize many of us like you just as you are. I would probably brush my teeth and run. Be my luck I'd have on 2 different socks but so what? It'd still be a hoot. | |

| Going on a date...as is, would you do it? Posted: 5/3/2008 4:14:11 PM | Redneck...admist all the other great posts this one sentence of yours stood out"
I wish you could realize many of us like you just as you are. Eventually there will come a time when you will be seen "as is". Why not sooner than later.

| Going on a date...as is, would you do it? Posted: 5/3/2008 4:14:17 PM | Naughty, not that I'm so prim and proper, but I do STILL believe that first impressions are merely that...FIRST IMPRESSIONS.
I would like to grab a shower with sweet smelling body wash, maybe freshen up a bit....shave my under arms, (lol) put on deodorant and a bit of blush.
My hair looks decent so I don't have to fuss with it, but going out as I am currently in a pair of old jeans and a dark green man's hanes T-shirt (no bra) might give my spontaneous date "other ideas"...lol...and after all, we ARE talking about FIRST IMPRESSIONS...or at least I AM. LOL
Great thread by the way...but I think I'll stick to cooking my oxtail (other thread) and do a deep conditioning on my hair, pineapple face mask and buff and paint my nails.
Sounds like a plan...right?

| Going on a date...as is, would you do it? Posted: 5/3/2008 4:15:18 PM | If I'm not smelly...I'm out the door!! (but...I ..never get smelly...yeah...born that way ) !!
Fun Thread!!!!!!!
Right now in my housecoat, but I'd throw on the jeans and Long sleeve T that are lying on my bedroom floor!...I mean... folded neatly at the end of my bed!

| Going on a date...as is, would you do it? Posted: 5/3/2008 4:20:43 PM | Why not??? Quid Pro Quo.
If you both are in your casual mode, than who cares. As long as you both understand that. Why not. At least you get that out of the way right.
Yes.
OP, Would you??

| Going on a date...as is, would you do it? Posted: 5/3/2008 4:23:33 PM | Beth: I actually thought of you when I posted this. You are a real "girly girl" and your post did not surprise me...I expected just what you wrote. Hey...being a girly girl is a good thing...and you can cook, too.
Yes...first impressions are very important so it is a tough call, if it is a first meeting.
OP, Would you?? Sanderick: I would prefer it. Don't even remember the last time I wore make up, much less fussed with my hair. Spontaneous meetings also leave little room/time for all the anquish about "this or that".

| Going on a date...as is, would you do it? Posted: 5/3/2008 4:24:43 PM | yes i would!! I have!! Today i am in jeans, a black cotton cami thing and a gingham shirt ready to do housework. Hair still wet from the shower, so I'd probably pull it back in a pony then... i'm outta here!! Waaaaaaaaaay better than housework.. | |

| Going on a date...as is, would you do it? Posted: 5/3/2008 4:47:56 PM | I would in general. I can throw myself together pretty quickly having been a singer in a band for years. Those guys get pretty unsympathetic to primping. So I learned to live on the fly. BUT I am sitting here in a slip, covered in self tanner, needing to brush and floss...so not at this particular moment.
I feel like that magic 8 ball: "Ask again later". :)

| Going on a date...as is, would you do it? Posted: 5/3/2008 4:59:08 PM | Yep Naughty....
I "sizzle" in the kitchen.....AND.....the..well, nevermind. You know what I meant.
Thanks for the compliments. I AM a "girly girl" and happy to be one. I love that I can change lightbulbs (actually did that at night last night on my stepstool ladder with a screwdriver and everything, in the dark) which only proves that I can be "girly girl" and STILL take care of things by myself.
I could still get ready rather quickly for an impomptu movie or a bite to eat. I can do it....really!!!!
P.S. The kitchen is smelling like delicious red, red wine. Yummy. I might just have a glass while I'm cooking too.

I would and I did, no profile, no messaging, and after just a brief 5 minute conversation on the phone. He happened to be passing near my home and the spontaneity made the meeting almost as if we had glanced at each other in the street. It was well worth it that way as the first impression was almost purely physical, and if you both like each other at first sight - sparks will fly!

If the right person called I would wash my hands and be out the door in minutes Awesome, what is your number?...LOL I actually think you'd look hot like that naughtical. But seriously, I would just drop and go sure, I see no issues with it, after all, it's not like I haven't showered or shaved in days anyhow. Besides, a lot of the time I prefer the casual first "meeting" anyhow, that way we are in that position of what you see is what you get, if I don't appeal to you then, well I guess I never will. And it is typically just a first meeting, but I try to look at least presentable those times as well.
