Posted: 5/3/2008 7:33:22 PM | I read a very interesting article the other day put out by a professor of psychology from a top 10 university, and I changed his example to dating.
A small portion of another's work for an educational purpose; was there has been research done on the following phenomenon 1; and its reffered to as by academic sources AKA " learning new things, and the reaction of the mind". I'm not sure of the correct terminology, I call it " learning new things, and the reaction of the mind"
The examples he used were;
London Heathrow Airport, in the UK.Public transportation to and from the airport is reliable and frequent with a choice of trains, coaches, but if you decide to rent a car,
the rental agent will, then tell you,"Sir", "ma'am", "here is the key, but, please keep in mind that we drive on the left hand side of the road here in London. "
There has been research done on this phenomenon 1 Ref@note ( people have done real well in driving a car on the left side of the road, and if I'm not mistaken, sit on the right hand side of the car to drive for the FIRST time, Vice-versa.
The participants actually performed more quickly than they had done before, with their everyday things they already knew.

Everyday things you already know are actually the hardest part to maintain.
When It comes to dating, especially if it happens rather fast, a couple of days, weeks, months, etc.
You finally meet, this is no problem, so long as you have the qualifications of your " opposite to attract" is looking for, you have performed well on your 1st, 2nd, 3rd, date etc.
I compare the above to example 1, Dating a new person, and going places you've never been before to
learning new things:)
My question for the gals is;
How long will it take till you can see, if you have s`o`m`e`t`h`i`n`g s~p~e~c~i~a~l going, after the dating thing has begun, and what are those important signals ?
As a guys point of view;
Just taking a wild guess, I would say,
If she introduced me to her friends, or,
On daily basis kept in touch,
bought me a small gift to show her caring? | |

Yes, I believe you are correct. However, should that train jump the tracks, and end up smashing into car OP is driving, does that change the price of rice in China???

Posted: 5/4/2008 5:00:27 AM | Scientifically speaking.....I know after the third oreo...........as we are rounding the curve into London's East End.. I think that takes 37.5 minutes from Heathrow Airport, given low traffic volumn at about 3 in the afternoon, going 40 kilometers an hour.
Now in New York coming from Kennedy into the city, its more like five oreo's going at 70 miles an hour.
And then after a fun filled night of sex............it takes about 1/2 an oreo to fall out of love.    | |

I already suspect one is a whole pack of oreo's............nausea city............ but I'm going anyway........its just coffee.....maybe if I dunk my oreos he'll leave first | |

With a player, your average woman may feel s~p~e~c~i~a~l within minutes, because players are experienced in the art of making a woman feel that way. With a "nice guy" it may take a month or two (and sometimes more) of dating because they don't have the "Player's Manual On How To Make A Woman Feel S~P~E~C~I~A~L In Less Than One Hour" book.  | |

"Something special" is spending tiem together, using the OP's examples of meeting my friends [God help him, if he survived that] it would be after we had been together for a while, a few weeks at least if we [he an I] had a great connection, otherwise a few months or longer. It also depended on the type of relationship we had, if it was causal, no need for them to meet; if it was for something long-term [that was the goal] a few weeks to a month. Meetign my family would be at least a month down the road; my son even longer.
Keeping in touch on a daily basis could happen withing a week or so. I don't use a timetable. | |

Posted: 5/4/2008 9:51:34 PM | I usually agree with Red because she's usually right. But on this one, I have to point out a glaring omission. The cuteness factor.
If the cuteness factor is 1-4, then yes 2 bottles of vino and the time frame she used are bang on. However, it is an interesting phenon...phonenonme... thing that happens, that both the amount of vino and time required decrease in proportion to the increase in cuteness.
If the gentleman in question is in possession of a very sexy little right-hand drive sports car and knows how to use it and also has a high cuteness factor, both the vino and time factors are reduced to almost nothing.
If the gentleman is lucky enough to have both the car and the cuteness at the high end of the scale, vino, time, and panties are completely removed from the equation. | |
