Mostly not arsed to cook a sunday roast.

I normally do manage to make something slightly different than last week, but having looked at what is in the cupboards, I fear that unless I do a trip to Morrisons....Which I try to avoid on Sundays, in keeping with my preference of avoiding it Monday to Saturday than for lunch today, my master and I may partake in some chipped potatoes, served with chicken nuggets - Though a disticnt possibilty may yet be turkey twizlers.

I ask, now you know my aversion to shopping, am I a bad Dad for saying ball's to the Sunday Roast or am I not alone in seeing the demise of this once unbreakble taboo of meat n two veg every Sunday?

Chicken Corma, fried bananas, popodum(?), rice and cake for after.

Eat what you want.

But what ever you do, get rid of the turkey twizlers, they are nasty.

Have a lovely sunday. xx

Cant remember the last time I had meat and 2 veg on a Sunday!!

Not a lot of people I know stick to the Sunday tradition any longer especially during the warmer weather. Eat what you like on what ever day you want to.

Myself I am working but will enjoy crispy duck and pancakes later

Oh no, I am a firm believer in the meat and 2 veg thing even though it's takes hours to cook and prepare on what is supposedly a day of rest, but it's tradition to me and I like showing off my roasties but each to there own and all that.:)

No way, maggie is right eat what you want to eat - life is for the living! Just enjoy yourself.

Now summer is here, sunday roast is too heavy a meal anyway, but I cant remember the last time I had a sunday roast at home Ive never conformed haha. Im on diets anyway so every night its either pasta and a sauce or rice and a sauce - mainly sweet and sour mmmm

Id have sweet and sour chicken with rice over a roast anyday!!

Today I will be mostly eating, leg of lamb, roast potatoes assorted veg and lashings and lashings of gravy, followed by apple and rhubarb crumble with real custard ( as opposed to packet, tin or carton) all made by my own fair hand.

If i dont get a (clean) proposal after this then there is no justice in the world.

My mother always and still does a roast every sunday without fail... I try and keep up the tradition myself as my kids love a roast... but like others have said... in the hot weather a big roast is just to much and would rather get the bbq out... Winter I do stick with the tradition though...

today... we have a wee bbq at lunch time and have loin of Pork, roast tatties and a few fresh veg homemade yorkshire cooked around the meat with thick homemade gravey...

OP ya know what you can do with your turkey twizlers don't ya

Today I'll be eating a roast at work but if I was at home then I'd probably just grab a pizza or cheese & biscuits, or salad if it's me on my own. If my son decides to remember where he lives then I'll cook a roast for the both of us.

Well there is only me to cook for but I will do myself a little roast now and again but as others said, eat whatever I'm in the mood for really. I had a little barbecue yesterday and may do the same this evening.

I do have a severe aversion to frozen meat products though, so I'd be binning both the Twizzlers and the nuggets OP, they're just grim. Plus, fairly easy to make your own nuggets.

I cook for myself all week but on a sunday I take the easy option and go to visit mum and dad for tea and occasionally we still have traditional roast dinner I love it.

Today hasn't quite started yet it's raining outside and I am still in bed with the laptop

Roasted topside of beef, with mustard and cracked pepper rubbed into it.
Yorkshire puddings (Home made from scratch).
Roast potatoes, roast parsnips.
Carrots, Cauliflower and broccoli.
Butter beans and cabbage,
Home made gravy.

For pudding will be a lemon drizzle cake (again home made from scratch)
Fresh fruit, strawberries, raspberries, both types of grapes and bananas, and double cream.

and nope. i have no visitors or guests for dinner. i cook just for one. ME!

vvvvv I always cook way too much..... so sure! lol

Pub Lunch for me today, am Umpiring at Eccleshall Cricket Club in a Cup Match so setting off soon, really good food pub in the village so may as well take advantage for an early lunch before the game.

Then at tea time it will be sandwiches and all sorts of delightful savouries and masses of home made cake. I do so love the ladies who prepare cricket teas, problem is they are always married to the home club players.

Ponders why I'm a fat lad.

vvv Yes, tis Sunny here, but heavy showers are forecast for this afternoon.

Gut Reaction i suspect it will be an all dayer in the pub, have you looked out of the window?

Was considering doing a full roast but dont want to go shopping in the downpour so its likely to be some kind of pasta dish in this household.

Turkey twizzlers,bin/bury them quickly!!!

I've always wanted to be a lady who prepares cricket teas but never met a man who plays cricket!
