Help..........cat poo!!

I've just dug over my garden & re-designed it all & put bark down covering half of it (quite a big area), you know the child friendly play bark they have in parks etc.
Well as much as it looks fab out there now there are millions of cats around here & I really don't want them using it as a giant toilet!

Does anyone know of any powder or something that I can put down that would deter them? Any plants, spray........anything!!!!!!!

anything!!!!!!!

A Mosberg pump action shot gun. You'll only have to clean the mess up once.

Ha Ha ! Fat chance! Cats don't just think that they rule the world, they think that they own it; it is theirs to do as they see fit! Just rename your garden "The Litter Tray!"

Claymore anti-personnel mines?

What a horrible thing....

I have sat in cars held limbs while they have had to be amputated.
Entered burning buildings without a thought for own safety.
In a previous role, have been shot at.

But give me cat or doggy do t shift n i run a mile,,,,,,,,,,
I just can't deal with it!

Hungry terrier, german shepard, rotti or doberman would be my best bit of advice to keep your garden cat-free.

Just to clarify, the OP has cats herself so is probably not going to go down the blowing them up route! Besides cleaning up that mess would be far worse than the poo.

Umm, yeah not sure there is anything guaranteed to keep them off t but I can't imagine they'd be that keen, it's a bit rough and hard to dig (although my precious won't even dig, get her nails dirty? You have to be joking!).

The water pistol idea is the best, you're not hurting them and it's damned effective.

^^^^^yes I've got 2 cats although I don't want them on it either! I want to sunbathe & have bbq parties without having to dodge cat poo haha

Fairy-godmother....thankyou...I've just looked it up on amazon & just ordered it, definately worth a try.

Nope ive tried the water pistol thing.Doesnt work anymore the cats just turn and laugh at you!!

I reckon the only way forward is a cat ASBO and electronic tagging, failing that i think pet shops do some sort of citrus spray thats meant to be affective

I tried something similar to that Get Off and the smell was horrendous.... I couldn't go out at all for ages ... I tried the lemon too .. Seems to have limited success ... My dog only works when he is out ... Let us know if you find anything ...

Be aware of that green jelly stuff, i used it on my old patio and both my cat and neighbours got seriously ill from it.

you could see about motion sensors that set off sprinklers? my cat hated sprinklers especially caught unawares

So far as I am aware there is only ONE thing which is guaranteed to keep cats out of your garden.

Brace yourself, it's weird....

Lion poo!
Go to your local Wildlife Park, and ask for a bag of it (at Longleat they sell it for £1 a carrier bag, for this exact purpose) and put a little of it around the perimeter of the area you want to keep shyte free. Voila! The big cat smell will scare off the small pooing cats.

Ask them to lend you a lion that is sure to keep the cats away mind you I'm sure lions do much bigger dumps than your average puddy cat. I have seen the ultrasonic deterents at a friends house but he had only just got it so I haven't been back to ask if it actually worked.

I invested in one of those about ten years ago when I was planning a wildlife garden at the back of my house. As it happened the wildlife garden worked a treat but the cats just mocked the ultrasonic device really, came and went as if it wasn't there. I remember the advert showed a cat hissing angrily at the potent 'cat repelling waves', what a load of old tosh

I'd stick with the lion sh*t if I was you, if you can convince them that a lion uses your garden as a toilet, even cats aren't gonna be arrogant enough to stick around after that

Yorike bar got it again!
Any citrus oils as they hate it
Orange peal
some citurssy plants grown amongst the rest

Also have a work with a zoo and see if you can get some big cat/lion poo put that in your garden the ats will smell it a mile off and think "fookin ell that's a massive cat that lives there, I'm getting outta here!"

My dad once put some cat food on a metal bowl wired to a trip switch and a car battery.
I was kept awake all night by screaching.
The cats didn't come back.

Putting down some poo to stop poo, novel idea, to me sounds like it could just become a very pooey situation. Wouldnt recommend putting cat food in a metal bowl though, you probably would get arrested lol.

Yeah I was told once that generaly cats only poo in gardens where other cats don't live.

It was along time ago when my dad did that and I should have said the old "Do not try this at home folks" And he didn't care what trouble he got in after all it was his land etc etc.
But I did grant peeps with some intelligence to work that out for themselves (more than mine anyhow!lol)
