| How many meets have you had from POF?

How many have you had? Any good ones? Any bad ones? Any that turned into a great relationship?
I have found that people over the age of 30 or so are much quicker to meet each other than people my age meet each other, which is a pain I suppose. | |

Ive met loads of people through the meets but only had 3 dates via the site which were a while ago.
1 was really good and we got along great but due to different things in our lives,we didnt take things further.
1 was an absolute wash out he was so boring i almost fell asleep.
and the other well i wont go into detail on that 1

I had a 3 month relationship with someone I met here but unfortunately our lives were heading in differenet directions and his to a different country! (blOOdy army lol)
And I don't believe that it is the older members that are quicker to meet people, I once met someone the same day as starting chatting to them! But then that was cos he lived in the same street as me! | |

The first, I made a good friend. The second, we had a few dates and became good friends. The third was an out and out psycho.
I don't do dating now!
I've met lots of lovely people via the organised meets, I've been to many of those all over the country from Leeds to Brighton, not had a bad one yet. | |

two have developed into relationships, both lasted two months before i chickened out.
i'm all for a quick meet. rather get it over and done with then move on. i'm not good relationship material | |

Ummm three meets in 15 months on and off as has been my plaster casts and spells in hospital so that's my excuse. One was a nightmare, one turned out to be married but wanted to consumate the date ho hum and one I still chat to. Oh and another who came round to see me when I wasn't very well and took me to hossie etc bless, but no date. | |

out of these I'm still in touch with 6 of these on a regular basis and would class a couple as real friends who I value very much.
It's a great way to meet people in my opinion | |

At the risk of sounding like a fawning sycophant [ which isn't good for my street
cred ] I would have to agree wholeheartedly with the above statement . Why spend months typing inane bollo*cks about the weather etc... when you can find out within the week whether or not your suited by meeting up face to face for a drink.
I haven't the patience, the will , nor met anybody who could hold my interest for more than a week. The girl I took out last night I didn't start corresponding with until Friday evening [or there abouts] . I found her interesting , and figured there was a good chance we would at least get on and have a laugh . So I asked her out Sunday night and took her out last night.
Life's too short and time too precious to be faffing about , for what purpose ?

..Its gotta be worth the effort for me, lifes so busy I need to feel that its worth giving up something else for that night so theyve gotta have something a little special!!

Equally , some give up their valuable time chatting all night , night after night online to "virtual strangers" they have never met.
I've seen people chat for months on end thinking they know the person really well and upon meeting them have been sorely disappointed !!
I'm in the business of meeting rapidly , making a choice and acting on it one way or the other !! | |

I don't get much free time without the childern which doesn't make it easy but as yet that hasn't been an issue because the few invites I have had are for one reason only and I'm not meeting up just for that!
Also I'm a bit wary of the whole dating malarky as I have never been on an actual date before. | |
