| Cunnilingus and Cranberry Juice Posted: 5/5/2008 11:31:48 PM | If you're reading this, then chime in with a yes or no. Have you heard about or personally experienced a correlation between cunnilingus and UTI's?
Not to get too personal but every serious relationship I've ever been in, has been heavy in cranberry consumption in the first 2 months of said relationship.

My ex drank alot of cranberry juice, but she never mentioned a cunnilingus related reason. Care to actually tell us what it is all about?

| Cunnilingus and Cranberry Juice Posted: 5/8/2008 2:29:57 PM | I would say the relationship is not with Cunnilingus but sex in general. Yeast infections are quite common in women but easily remedied. It is one of those things that can interfere with the pleasure of sex though and you need to treat the situation. Cranberry juice is a known preventative measure for yeast infections.
I think in the first 2 mos of a relationship, everyone is a bit unsure of themselves and they want things to go right if they like the person. If they are only drinking Cranberry juice around that time it could just mean they then feel more comfortable to openly talk to you about when that kind of thing happens and its no big deal.
It's really good for every woman to incorporate cranberry juice into their diet though. It really does taste good it's just very sweet but you could always water it down in some way.

| Cunnilingus and Cranberry Juice Posted: 5/8/2008 4:48:20 PM | i assume you are talking about "honeymoon cystitis" or are you worried about transmitting germs orally to attribute to cystitis? if the latter, i recommend oral hygeine. i believe the above talks about how cranberry juice helps with cystitis. having had it, i can tell you it feels like a razor and i'd suggest going to your urgent care immediately for a culture and getting the right antibiotic. d-mn it is so painful. so maybe drinking it helps as a prevention. but so does water and emptying one's bladder beforehand.
sigh, those honeymoon days.....

Cranberry juice is a known preventative measure for yeast infections. Hmmmmm, don't know if I agree with you on this..... Cranberry juice can be effective in helping to alleviate the discomfort of UTI or bladder infection by acidifying your pee (the same result can be achieved with high intake of Vitamin C), so I suppose it may help in creating an inhospitable environment for infection in the first place. Also, always pee before and after sex to clear your UT so bacteria has reduced opportunity for establishing itself.
New relationships are often accompanied by LOTS of sex, so all that happens is more irritation or transfer of bacteria can occur through your activities. Just take extra care of your equipment during this 'phase'. lol.
By all means, swill the cranberry, but if you suspect any kind of plumbing issues, I would not delay getting checked by a doctor.

Actually, this is a misconception. Cranberry juice does not prevent UTIs by acidifying the urine. It is rich in chemicals called proanthocyanidins, and these chemicals prevent bacteria from adhering in the bladder, and causing a full blown infection. It does create an inhospitable environment for bacterial colonization, but not because of the acidity level.
