| The first time you realize that you're sexy
Posted: 5/6/2008 12:32:33 PM | First of all, everyone here is sexy to some degree, so let's keep all matters of "you're not, I'm not, certain people are not" out of this thread, for the sake of clarity.
I think almost everyone here with a satisfying sex life has had a moment where they sorta realized, "holy crap, I'm actually *sexy*! Wow..." This moment is one that changes peoples' lives, and is often forgotten and experienced again later when you feel like crap again.
What I'm here to ask is, when was the first time you remember realizing this, and what went through your mind that made you realize it?
Did you look in the mirror and smile and smile back?
Did you think about past lovers and how none of them really didn't like you?
If any of you haven't had this moment before, just remember that you will some day, as long as you let yourself feel that way without telling yourself, "no, not really, I mean look at/listen to/smell/whatever me."
Anyway, all advice aside, I'd like to see what kind of patterns, if any, emerge from this experimental question.

Posted: 5/6/2008 3:16:16 PM | There's nothing better than feeling good about yourself. I'm influenced alot by the people around me unfortunately. I rarely stand in front of the mirror and go ew. It's so detrimental to your own self-image. I love putting on makeup and dressing nicely so I can look in the mirror and feel that while I may not be Marilyn Monroe, I put effort into my health, and my appearance and that's the best anyone can do.
If I'm with very positive people I tend to feel better about myself than when around people with negative attitudes. There are those people that just can't help but make fun of other people walking by, I hate being with those people and that really bothers me. I'm bound by the statement if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all. What might that person be thinking about me? Then I clue in, well I'm not perfect.
But when totally alone, and I'm blasting the stereo and dancing around my house like a nut, hell ya I'm sexy. I've never really been rejected. I guess I've never put myself out there enough, and I'm a very cautious person. I'm sure if I was rejected a couple times I would feel less sexy.

Growing up I was a pretty homely looking kid. I was very tiny and had these huge eyes that I never thought I would grow into and I sure didn't think I was pretty. We only had one school in our town so I'd gone to school with the same people pretty much my entire life. One day I went with a friend of mine to a party in a neighboring town full of people I'd never met before and I remember being scared I'd walk in and they'd think I wasn't "cool" enough to be there. Anyways we walked into the party and in the front hallway were about 10 guys standing around chatting to eachother. All of them stopped talking the minute we walked in and just stared at me. I thought to myself "this is the moment they tell us to leave". All of a sudden this one guy pipes up and says "hey who's the hot chick?" Who me? They couldn't possibly be talking about me. I actually turned around to see who was standing behind me but no one was there! Another guy said I was the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen and they weren't even drunk! That is the moment I realized I was attractive and it's a moment that I will never forget. | |

What do YOU think of yourself?" so other people's perceptions of beauty have never affected me. I've always thought to myself that I look fine, I know, with my perception of beauty, I'm not "beautiful" - but I like how I look, I think it suits me just fine and to hell what men think :) I'm not placed on this planet to make sure every guy thinks I look good. I have bigger and better things to worry about then a man thinking I don't look good, I never walk out of the house thinking "damn I look UGLY." if I like how I look, then who cares? | |

sexy can be just as much or more about attitude than looks
and I am also fortunate to have a special someone who thinks I am sexy.....which in turn makes me feel good, which makes me feel sexy

We were bsing and somehow we started talking about looks and I was like I don't look in the mirror and go man your handsome and she was like you should, and started blushing hella bad. I will never forget that.
I was reminded the other night at a local show. Kick ass thrash band sweaty mosh pit, whole dive bar scene this really cute blond girl came up and was like you need my phone number. Mind you I am in a tank top that is totally sweaty from the pit, stupid cellphone was in the car and I was too buzzed to remember her number. Sh*t, I guess I know what show I am going to next week :-) | |

The one time in my life that I've ever saw myself as 'sexy' was while I was pregnant. Any other time in my life, when I looked at myself in the mirror, I felt pretty neutral about my body. I've been thin all my life and saw my body as more boyish than feminine. During those last months that I was carrying my son I saw a woman in that mirror. I had shape for the first time in my life. For some women, this is the time they hate the shape of their bodies the most. For me, I felt sexy as hell when I stood there staring at my nude image in that mirror. | |

I am separated from my soon to be ex and the world seemed to be a whole different place when I got out on my own. I have chatted on line with people before sending my pic, (very recent one) and I am getting a completely different response than what I was used to in my marriage. I have met a few people in person and have been amazed at how differently people respond to me.
I am a slightly larger than average girl but it is all about attitude. I own it now, if you know what I am saying and I have never had so much fun.        | |

I couldn't figure out why they were calling us names and being mean. About a week later they ended up coming forward and saying that they thought my sister and I were so pretty and that we were going to steal away their boyfriends. These girls were older and very attractive.
I feel the most attractive and sexy when I get a compliments from women. I am not a lesbian or even bi but there is something about approval from women that seem to score higher than with men. I think it is because women have a tendency to be "catty", jealous, nit picky, and critical of other women. When you have the approval from women and especially very attractive women, it is the most ego boosting compliment and makes me feel exceptionally sexy and attractive. | |

I was about 20 and had on these lacy panties and a bra to match. I generally do not spend any time whatsoever in the mirror, I don't wear make up at all (not even lipstick) and truth be told I love a pair of khaki's with a t-shirt and some jesus sandles and I'm red to go.
But this one day I happened to catch myself in the mirror and was like HOLY SHIT, who the hell is this woman? I was literally stunned to death. She was short, curvacious, had a set of twins (smile), lips that took up her entire mouth and big brown eyes.
I sat there staring at the mirror for at least 20 minutes, posing to myself (LOL) and thought shit, now THIS is sexy. But I gotta thank my mom for the boom-chickee-boom walk, lol :-) | |

I have been called sexy more in my 50s than I ever was in my twenties. I think my attitude has a lot more to do with it than my looks do.
Good point outofthedesert...Attitude goes a long way to being sexy...Everyone could "look better" in one way or the other...but if you carry yourself right, attitude and all...Thats the way to go! | |

We have all felt sexy, thought we looked sexy.................but I can't stand profiles that state "I am a sexy male" (I don't search through the women's)----sexy is in the eye of the beholder.
We all have our definitions of what we feel is sexy and what we are looking for. When I see a profile stating "I am sexy" to me that equals "I am looking for sex". Maybe they just mean, they are a sexual person or they mean they have confidence in themselves. The majority of people on here would welcome sex in the right relationship but to "put it out there", indicates to me that is the primary focus of the search. I know for some it is, but from what I read in the profiles, most want a solid relationship with sex not based on it. Am I the only one who reads it that way?
As far as sexy, sometimes when I come in the room heads turn, just not going to tell you which way! | |

No im kidding ive always thought of myself as a person who isnt main stream good looking but selective women like me for what I am which is a big dude. I am extremely comfortable with that and I think thats why women like me cause Im not afraid or intimidated by women unless there like over the top aggressive in nature and extremely good looking.. | |
