| POF WORKED FOR ME!!!
Posted: 5/7/2008 11:29:17 AM | I was using Plenty of Fish for the last year as a way to meet other singles in my area. I'm a single mother of two little boys, so I don't have the time/ability to meet my potential match at a bar, club, or other "singles" parties.. I had a great time going on dates with some of the men i met online, although i didn't feel the "spark" i was hoping for with any of them. Then, I received a message from a gentleman named, Johnathan. We messaged back and forth for a few days, then i decided to give him my phone number... we talked on the phone everyday. He sounded amazing!! We had so much in common and he was so easy to talk to. So, we decided to meet in person for the first time in Olympia, a halfway destination between both of us. As soon as i saw him, i knew he was EXACTLY what i was looking for. I already decided i was falling in love with him LONG before we decided to meet in person, and seeing him just confirmed my feelings. We drove to a small, romantic restaurant overlooking a vast park adorned with beautiful fountains. It was perfect. Before i got out of the car, Johnathan handed me a gift bag. I excitedly dug through it and discovered a small toy turtle.. the turtle had directions on what to do next. So clue after clue, I followed the path until i reached a small envelope taped on the inside of a giant box..wrapped up like a present. I opened the envelope and proceeded to read the most elegantly written message devoted to describing all the ways Johnathan loved me. He said that he knew he loved me after the fist day he talked to me on the phone... a feeling that was mutual for me as well. After i finished reading the letter, my eyes welled up with tears of joy as Johnathan bent down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. I happily told him that "I would be honored," and he placed a gorgeous ring on my finger. That was six months ago. Johnathan and I are moving in together in July, and are planning our wedding for next summer. He remains to be, and will FOREVER be the most wonderful man in my life. I can not imagine what my life would be like now without him. THANK YOU PLENTY OF FISH for making me believe in soul mates.... and enabling me to find mine!!! :)

Wow...that is just wow! You guys said you loved each other and became engaged on the first meet! To think, last week there was a thread about a bloke who freaked out when she inadvertently took his hand during a first meet!

Yes thats good that your setting the wedding at a later date so you two have time to get to know each other. I've heard so many stories of things being just peachie and then once 2 people move in together and share a home together sometimes your seeing each other with a different color of light.
Kind of like test driving a car. The longer you test drive it the better. | |
