Why not do the same thing I did ... Google it?
Tadalafil is an orally administered drug used to treat male erectile dysfunction (impotence). It was initially developed by the biotechnology firm ICOS and subsequently developed and marketed worldwide by a joint venture of ICOS Corporation and Eli Lilly and Company (Lilly ICOS LLC) under the brand name Cialis. Cialis tablets are yellow, film-coated, and almond-shaped; produced in 5, 10, or 20 mg doses.
Is it approved for sale in Canada because I know it is not in the US? In the United States, tadalafil has Food and Drug Administration approval and became available in December, 2003 as the third impotence pill after sildenafil (Viagra) and vardenafil (Levitra). Due to its 36-hour effect it is also known as the weekend pill. As with sildenafil and vardenafil, it is recommended that tadalafil be used no more than once daily. Tadalafil is also currently undergoing Phase 3 clinical trials for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension.

| Generic Cialis Posted: 5/9/2008 7:22:15 PM | | Yes I did Google this but the generic version of Cialis (Tadalafil) is not yet available in the US. This leads to one of my original questions, why is the generic version available in Canada but not the US. | |

| Generic Cialis Posted: 5/10/2008 4:05:40 AM | I found the following when searching for a place to buy the tadalafil, but really have no idea where the pharmacies are located.

Perhaps if you just want to ask where one can purchase it here in the US, you could try calling the company that makes Cialis here in the United States ...
Eli Lilly and Company
Lilly Corporate Center Indianapolis, Indiana 46285 USA Phone: +1-317-276-2000
If you need additional information, please contact one of the following Lilly offices:
In the United States, contact Eli Lilly and Company:
* For medical information, call The Lilly Answers Center at: 1-800-LillyRx (1-800-545-5979)
I was thinking that purchasing the tablets here in the US does not necessarily guarantee that they were made here. Also, being able to purchase them at the local pharmacy will probably be a lot more expensive.

| Generic Cialis Posted: 5/15/2008 9:59:38 PM | If your penis is limp try exercise. Its all about getting blood flowing down there and the best way to help that is to go jogging or biking. Some good hard cardio will help. For example sometimes I dont really think about sex when lying in bed but after a long work out I will spring a big stiffy and all Ill think about is plowing some poor woman. | |

| Generic Cialis Posted: 5/15/2008 10:57:50 PM | The generic is not available in the US because of patents. The company that designs the med has the right to copyright that formula for something like 7 years in the United States, making them the some manufacturer of that drug. I haven't delved into it deeply, but it has to to with recouping research funds, mostly. After that time period has passed, other companies can begin producing it and selling it as a generic. Same stuff, same effects, just different price. You'll often notice when a drug is able to be produced generically, the price of the brand name drug often goes down.
As for whether or not it is safe or just as effective from a foreign market, that is something you really need to talk to your doctor about. There are a lot of safety issues when buying a drug from, say, Canada from an online pharmacy. Is it a real pharmacy? Are they selling the real drug? Are they selling the right dosage? And what if that was a bad batch--do you have any legal recourse as a consumer? And then, as is often the case, people don't have a prescription for the drug, so a canadian doctor that has never seen you and is just going by what you say in the little questionaire is writing the prescription to be dispensed by this online pharmacy. And as an individual, are you REALLY going to read all that mumbo jumbo about side effects and toxicity? Probably not.
As for being cheaper, you're usually better off getting it from you local pharmacy with a prescription from your doctor. Most insurance companies cover the meds that treat erectile dysfunction and your doctor can tell you which med is right for you. Your doctor can also keep an eye out for any adverse effects you may experience.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not opposed to foreign pharmacies; I go to mexico a couple times a year since I live so close and get many of my meds there. But I don't have insurance and I've been on these med for a long time, and was under the supervision of a doctor when I started taking them.
All in all, though, don't risk it. I'm sure it's probably a good pharmacy, but your screwed if anything bad happens.
