| Profile tune-up request Posted: 5/10/2008 7:27:20 AM | Women only.
Ladies,
you rule. I am on here because of you and only for you. Be ruthless (is ruthful a word?), funny, but most of all be honest. It can only help.
Guys,
I am sure you are all wise and brave and smart and, asuredly superior to me in every way, but I do not care what you think about my profile.
Thanks for stopping. | |

The Rules- http://forums.plentyoffish.com/datingposts141520.aspx Polarization
No Thread may exist designated exclusively for Response from a specific Gender, Ethnicity, Orientation, Religion, Public, etc. Such a Thread will be deleted. The entire Concept of a Forum is for anyone to post their Opinions and Thoughts, providing they are On-Topic, on any Threads he or she sees fit.
As an Example:
This is a Question ONLY for the Men to... = No Good !!!
Warmest regards, Uncle Crazy

| Profile tune-up request Posted: 5/10/2008 8:27:42 AM | Thanks. I did not know the rule.
My request was simply that - a request - obviously not "designated exclusively" since I do not have the power to do that.
I actually expected guys to post anyway...just trying to discourage.
Thanks again.
Now...can we get on with trashing me. Everyone welcome!

| Profile tune-up request Posted: 5/10/2008 8:33:17 AM | Well, given the general insulting nature so far and your backpedaling in the face of rule violation, I do not feel particularly inclined to help. So I will not. Boycott bandwagon request!
Good luck though. | |

| Profile tune-up request Posted: 5/10/2008 9:44:28 AM | I agree with crazytimes, if you can't be respectful enough to read and abide by the rules, then you're not deserving of someone else's time to help you.
Good luck though. Yeah good luck.

| Profile tune-up request Posted: 5/10/2008 10:30:56 AM | The only reason I am doing this is that I feel sorry for you. It's too bad you lost your dog in the custody battle. First off, get rid rid of that headline! You are an educated man, and this reeks of immaturity. Why would you want to sabotage yourself? Be original, and come up with something else. Also, get more pics other than one of your dog, and one of you twenty years ago. If you eliminate those ones, you have only one picture, which may or may not look like you. Get more.
I don't tweeze, pluck, or shave in places where God did not mean man to shave. I have my own teeth (in a jar by the bed, j/k), love my mama, and although I was born at night it was not last night. I keep inappropriate noises to myself -unless we are sharing an intimate moment.
This is too much information. I don't know about other women, but I shudder to think of someone in the throes of love cries before I have even met them. You can leave in I don't tweeze and all that, but the part with your teeth in a jar, it's NOT FUNNY. Edit this section, and do it wisely.
Though I am carrying too much weight - working on that - I am an extremely healthy person. No daily drugs(except for vitamins and fish oil). My cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar are all excellent.
Although I appreciate the medical narrative, most will not. Other than saying you are getting fit, there is no need to say anything else. It already says in your profile that you do not do drugs, and no one cares (besides me, I take all my dates blood pressures the minute I can) what your blood pressure, sugar and cholesterol is, or what (if any) medications you are on.
Interests: MUSIC: jazz, blues, classical, New Age; BOOKS: Picoult, Tan,Roth,Steve Donaldson, religious non-fiction, Harry Potter. FITNESS: running (actually stumbling, staggering, and cursing); yoga (actually straining, staggering, and cursing); tennis/hiking/ww rafting - not as often as I would like.
Put these where they belong, in the interest section of your profile. You can elaborate about which authors you like, but these things really belong elsewhere. Your about me section is supposed to be for qualities that makes you who you are, not what you like to do. If you want to be funny about running and yoga, do so, but rearrange this whole section so it reads better.
Things I do not like: Deal Breakers: NASCAR, Motorcycles Not Deal Breakers - but don't like - cats, rap, tats and piercings
Kids: Not a deal breaker if you have kids. However, if you are on here JUST to start a family then probably not. If the right woman(say Norah Jones, Sandra Bullock) came along that I would, naturally, start all over. Have them call me.
I hate to break it to you, no one likes deal breakers. This is redundant. Take this section out, it will do you a world of good.
Your first date section, it needs deleting. Not the part of what you would like to do, but the part where you describe your date. What you are looking for should go in the top section. A generally good format is this: who you are as a person, what you like to do, and what you are looking for. Leave the first date section for what it is intended, and leave out the narrative about the person. Also, the way you come off describing her is pretty insulting. Describe personality traits, not that you would prefer someone who likes this over that. This section makes you seem like you have issues, delete it. Try instead describing what YOU like, and that a like minded person would be great. Realize that lots of GREAT women are out there, but they will not follow your rigid ideas of what she should consider watching, wearing, doing and going. Saying that thing about the Harlequins sounds jerky and prejudicial. If you want someone who is well read, say so, but lay off of the list of things you think are civilized. No woman in her right mind would respond to a profile that spews crap like that.
That is enough for you to work on right now. The people in these forums are great, and have excellent advice. Next time you post do so with some humility, and you may be better received.
