| Happy Mother's Day Posted: 5/10/2008 10:18:54 AM | I think I may have posted this prayer before, but I love it so much I had it framed and it hangs on my wall in the midst of my family pictures. So I'm posting it again. In the middle of all these threads that can be at times so controversial and that some of us spend a lot of time in, I hope this can bring us back to what's really important.
A Prayer For Bestowing Love Wisely
Love is a great blessing I have to offer.
Help me, God, to give my child a love that nourishes and heals.
A love that soothes and comforts.
A love that is steady and eternal.
A love that is free from judgement and conditions.
A love that does not seek to smother or control.
A love that respects my child's needs.
A love that instills confidence and independence, that sets boundaries and limits.
A love that is expressed not by spoiling my child with tangible gifts, but by offering up things that can never be measured: My attention, my affection, my creativity, my heart.
Thank you, God, for filling me with the capacity to feel and express this holy emotion.
May I love wisely and generously.
Amen | |

No-one could be bothered phoning anyone else to confirm with each other the initial plans Id made with them (even though Id told them to get intouch on the day & to book the restaurant) ...then *I* copped the blame for not making sure all the other dumbasses didnt sort it out *?*... even though I was the only one fricken working on the day
Thank gawd my ex hubby has a brain in his head or I woulda got nothing except take-a-way Chinese and two pairs of socks from my own mother... ...they were very nice socks though

| Happy Mother's Day Posted: 5/12/2008 11:35:12 AM | Hope everyone had an awesome Mother's Day...and thanks for the great poem, which is now on my "Mom's Wall"...
I feel totally blessed to have the kids I have...they have ALWAYS gone the extra mile for me on Mother's Day, this year being no different.
My daughter and son-in-law came over, cooked me supper (my very favorite...lasagna), brought the beer and movies, and we enjoyed the day together.
Of course, it would have been nice to have had my son at home with us, but nooooooo, he was at his Dad's for the weekend, and wouldn't let the little guy come home to spend the day with his Mama. Yup, my ex is a d!ck...but son made up for it when he got home last night...
